- Super Mario 64 was one of the first video games released for the Nintendo 64, Nintendo's first completely 3D video game console. Through trial and error, developers created one of the greatest video games of all time and they knew this, so Super Mario 64 was shown off many times to the public. This gave people the opportunity to take photos of it's development more than they could of other games, which allows us to see the many changes Super Mario 64 went through.

@@LilXancheX I always interpreted it as the paintings are portals into said dimensions, so burning the paintings would destroy your way of reaching them, not the places themselves. Maybe I'm wrong and the limits of these worlds really do exist on canvas?

The king sealed that rooms and placed teleport pictures to regions. idk. Maybe I'm being crazy tho.

Beta versions are not playable. At least not with what has been leaked so far. the leaker may or may not have them but even if he does it hasn't been released yet.
Beta versions playable? Doubt. TPP admins (The Preservation Project) say that the leaker has kept all the ROMs for himself, which is both a dick and a smart move (dick because it was teased a lot, and smart because he can turn a profit)

That's a copyright strike.
According to the cutting room floor, the sound effects are stock effects from the warner brothers sound effect library and also another library, so they could be from tom and jerry or stuff like looney tunes.

- Mario's high pitched voice was a placeholder in the time that Charles Martinet was recording his lines (FUN FACT: They were clips of Mel Blank's work in Looney Toons)
- Yoshi's egg is not a model; it is actually a texture
- The trampoline does actually have AI and functionality, it just has no reaction AI hooked to it. It acts as a trigger, like the cap switches, but it's reaction AI and it's animations were removed.
- Power flower coincidence is just that. A coincidence. It was added for decoration in levels (and it's present in the level textures of Lethal Lava Land, not present in it's triggers or models)

+FroggyStyle 64 (cardioandfriends) I don't think the jumps are from Mel Blanc, because I downloaded a sample CD with Warner Bros. SFX on it and although the burn scream is on there, the jumps aren't.
I think this game needs to DEFINITELY be revisited especially with the unveiling of Luigi actually being in the game.

In the beta version they hadn't met Charles Martinet so a voice for Mario was still to be chosen.
Except Martinet had voiced Mario in the DOS game "Mario's Game Gallery" a couple of years before this one. They likely either hadn't decided to bring Martinet back yet, or hadn't bothered to get the voice acting recorded yet, hence the use of stock voices.
Most jokes tend to have a setup and a punchline.

I remember watching this video in 2014 saying stuff like “Oh man, it’ll be so cool to play some of those early beta stages.” And here we are in 2020 and the actual beta stages are being ported and played from a leaked early build. I’m just so fucking happy. ;u;
Yet the leaked stuff is meant to be for the ique player and therefore later than even the gamecube, so only test levels should be present in the files other than final game stuff. Though there could be other things from other sources because of the presence of prototype SNES games.

The Toads are missing. They've been trapped within the castle walls. It's just that some of them are able to communicate with you when you approach the wall they've been trapped in. That's why they fade away when you get too far away from them. I believe they go into this in more detail in the Nintendo Power Player's Guide.
I thought that by "inside the castle walls" they just meant in the castle itself, not literally the walls.

If it were another series I'd be inclined to agree with you. But this is Mario after all. And we already know Peach is sealed inside of the Castle's Stain Glass Window. So her subjects being sealed in the walls wouldn't be too far fetched. Besides that's a pretty big castle for just Peach and like five toads.
The Official Player's Guide also starts with a little story, that makes sure to emphasize the emptiness of the normally bustling castle.

Fun Fact: (I don't know how true this is, but) the beta voices for Mario were actually archived sound clips from old Warner Bros. cartoons. So yes, the first person to voice Mario in the games was Mel Blanc.

Onta Muosyón The functionality was added in later using a hack. If you simply put the trampoline in the game, it wouldn't do anything.
