Keto SAVED MY LIFE. Literally. I was dying slowly from Diabetes and obesity-related conditions. I have lost 126 pounds so far....BUT my Diabetes went AWAY completely after less than two months! My doctors are doing backflips of joy over my blood work and test results every time I go in, and my neighbors and friends are continually astonished. I have gotten a few people on the bandwagon, or at LEAST low-carb. One lady has lost 48 pounds so far and her knee pain is gone!
Your right about the red meat, I tried to eat chicken as my OMAD... welllll it didnt go good at all. I was hungry 3 hrs later.. complete fail lol. So, back to red meat! Started out at 455 lbs (whoa!) and Im down 86 lbs today. Day by day.. My goal is 200 lbs. Just 169 to go lol
Wow! That’s remarkable! If you don’t mind me asking, how long did it take you to lose these 86 lbs? Anyway, I’m really proud of how far you’ve come and I wish you all the best in achieving your goals!
I don't really see the difference between chicken, fish,or read meat as long as you're cognizant of the need to add some fat the make up for the difference
Im 52 years old and last month i felt like i was 80 i had zero energy to complete jobs and felt like garbage .. i started keto a week and half ago and i swear to god i feel like im 20 years old again my energy levels are through the roof my blood pressure has dropped substantially and im off my BP pills all together now. I cannot express how good this diet is and my wife cannot believe the change in my attitude and my outlook on life since i started. TY soo much to all you keto pushing youtubers you are all incredible for helping all of us coming over to see the light tytytyty
@@j79meyerify It will work! I am 52 too and were allergic to sugar. So I started with Keto, bit on my own way as I am not fat at all. But I love that my bloodsugar had become steady and for that I am very thankfull. Greetz from the Netherlands
I’m 53 and my dr told me I have a fatty liver and I need to loose weight. He suggested the Keto or Mediterranean diet. I chose Keto. July 2019. I started and weighed 260. January 2020 I weigh 208. Thank you for posting and keep em coming!!!
Huge amounts of green vegetables, eggs, cheese, walnuts, avocados, steak, salmon, sausages, olives, olive oil, I lost 55 pounds in 9 months eating these things. I’m 134 pounds and have been maintaining my weight for a year now.
I've tried keto several times without research. I ended up giving up each time after a week. Today I'm 4 weeks in and 11.2 lbs down. I've researched extensively before starting. Have a notebook full of keto recipes I've found and even created myself. I feel great and am incredibly committed to staying keto. Your videos have been really helpful so thank you!
I can relate. First time I tried low carb was Atkins diet in the 70's, It was a disaster, and a few other attempts through the decades did not work either. As a result, many times I was just in starvation mode, desperate to lose weight. The last time I did this I was in my 50's, and my skin and muscles took a big hit. Only by the grace of God did I figure out about the need to research and now I feel I am making progress. Yay!!!
I wish I could. I've been on it for about 2 weeks and lost around 90 pounds. I literally cannot find anything on this diet that tastes good. Everything is horrible to me. I am really struggling.
Romaine lettuce leaves filled with whatever you would put in a sandwich- ie: tuna salad, meat n cheese, tomato, avocado, burger patty, mustard n mayo... so versatile and yummy!
I know it’s “dirty” but I’ve lost 45+ lbs occasionally using low carb tortillas (4g) carb. I heat them in skillet or even waffle maker till slightly crisp/firm. Place on rack on cookie sheet. Then add a good quality pizza sauce, cheese & sometimes pepperoni. Bake about 20 mins. till nice & bubbly! Awesome!!
But he really should measure baking powder. Baking is about chemistry, if you're off on that important ingredient the finished results won't be satisfactory.
@Aida A Yes. But that was back in the days when girls stayed home and learned from mother, how to help cook & keep house & raise the kids like they are supposed too. 🥴
Keeping things simple work the best for me .. has made it easy to see this as a way of life for the last year - meats eggs cheese & occasionally veggies Addicted to cheeseburgers with a fried egg on top ! My health has never been better Thanks for all the great advise !
Bulletproof coffee saved my life in the beginning! I didn’t use fancy mixes right away, sometimes I would just do coffee, coconut oil and a little salt and heavy cream. This was such an easy go-to when I felt overwhelmed by keto in the beginning!
Love this video! Very helpful! 2 things I would add to the list are 1. Turkey bacon. It is great snack for snacking on. I feel like its meatier and helps me a lot. 2. Sugar-free jello. Those cups help cravings. Topped with a dallop of whipped cream! 🤤🤤 I remember Megha used to mention jello cups.
The thing that helped me the most in the beginning was Keto "granola." Ground flax, vanilla extract, nuts, seeds with a little erythritol. Was so helpful to have at least my first meal prepped and ready to go. Used unsweetened vanilla almond milk with it.
For pizza cravings I will make a couple of chaffles adding some Italian seasoning to the egg mixture and mozzarella, then I top it with Raou's pizza sauce, cheese, and pepperoni, pop them in the air fryer until the cheese is browned and bubbly.
There are a couple keto pizza hacks I know of. You can put shredded cheese on a good nonstick hot pan and add your toppings and roll it up. Learned it from Erin Does The Keto. Also, if you nonstick spray a disposable pizza pan, add the sauce, then throw a handful of Parmesan down you can add your mozzarella and everything else on top of it. The parm holds the sauce together.
My list is: Eggs Cheese (Parmesan) Grass fed butter Full fat yogurt Olives Avocado and guach Smoked salmon and seafood Chicken Avocado mayo Nuts and seeds Spinach and field greens
My favorite snack is to mix a few pecans and macadamia nuts in a mug, put a tablespoon or so of raw milk butter, and microwave until butter is mostly melted. Stir to make sure the nuts are all covered and eat with a spoon. Great way to boost your overall fat intake for the day.
Yeah. As far as nuts go. Not happening. I treat them like cigarettes. Not allowed in the house. If I eat one, I'll sit there and eat 1000. Not an option.
I’m the same, but I won’t give them up for now. I fix the problem by generally only bring home what I intend to eat that day. I buy just one 4 oz bag and just reduce my calories else where when I must have nuts which is often. I’ve given up the artificial sweeteners (for now) so now nuts serve as my treat.
It’s a snacking problem and if you do intermittent fasting you can only eat them during your eating window. Then after your meal eat as much as you like. You won’t be hungry and can control yourself!
Alot of new ideas to change my life, TY for mentioning heavy cream. As a treat, another video mentioned adding cocoa...100% pure baking cocoa. Cocoa and heavy cream in coffee! It is in my future.
@@Milkman3572000 I have added Cocoa powder to my coffee when I brew it. I then drink with heavy cream and a little lakanto monk fruit sweetener. Its a really good mocha.
I started last March, but i psyched my self out for 2 months before actually going full Keto. Started looking at lables and noting what I was not going to get anymore. Then gong through my kitchen and gathering all the things i would not be using. Now this could have turned me off but i concentrated on things i Could have! I could have bacon, cheese, real butter, real mayo, and avocado. who ever heard of a diet that not only let you have these but encouraged it? For me The need to munch late was very strong. i would get hungry and the fat bombs (2 or 3) at night stopped the hunger pains (habit pains really) from leading me off the keto. Put off your first meal as long as you can each day, again fat bombs help. Do have fat in your coffee... MCT oil or butter, it will add the fat boost for the day and make it easy to not eat for four hours for your main meal. Have something satisfying with your coffee that will let you feel like you can eat what you want. I usually have some cheese or P-nut butter. For your main meal, start with the protein then add veggies and fat to fill it out. A thick butter or cheese sauce or avocado are very satisfying. Or if you just can't seem to fill those fat grams you need, take some whipping cream and make yourself a whipped desert to top off the meal. You will KNOW this is not a diet! But you will loose weight, and get so many good side effects from eating this way that you will NOT want to go back to the way it was. Last Jan I weighed 317 ... this Jan I weigh 250. And I have never been hungry or had unreasonable cravings and I think it is because of cheese and fat bombs... and crunchy P-nut butter. LOL Good Luck!
For me the carrot was LIVERWURST. I love it and for 40 years was denied my passion in big chunks. Some drool over bacon mine is liverwurst with cream cheese, onion and yellow mustard-not that brown stuff😎
The more good fat in your eggs or whatever your eating will make it easier to go from meal to meal. I do keto with fasting using a 18/6 split and fat gets me through the fast. So my last meal I eat lots of the fat and I am not hungry for the next 18 hours. Sometimes I just go without eating because I am not hungry. And I was a guy that would destroy a box of Suzy q,s lol
It's good to see that the keto trend is still going strong. I hope the world collectively will wake up and realize that refined carbs are causing all the health epidemics going on today. I never used to believe people who said they don't get colds or flu. I used to get sick several times a year, but I have gone about three years without any cold or flu since starting keto. My health is better than it has ever been, and I have also lost about 60 pounds. My core grocery items every month on keto are 1. eggs 2. cheese 3. ground beef 4. chicken breasts 5. peanut butter 6. pork rinds 7. coffee 8. cream 9. Sugar substitute 10. mixed nuts I spend about $250/mo. on keto. Not as much as you might think.
I also haven’t gotten sick in years. Besides doing Keto, I don’t get the flu vaccine but, that’s a separate issue. The standard America diet is purposely making us sick. Bad for us, great for the medical and big Pharma. Just watched great video on amazon called “Fat” about Keto. It’s actually been around for a long time. Also check out Dr. Eric Berg for a wealth of info.
One thing that helps me are meat wraps. Ideally it would be best to avoid deli meats, but I live in the real world of ME HUNGRY NOW. Two of my favorites are salami wrapped around a high quality cheese stick dipped in yellow mustard, and turkey pepperettes dipped in jalapeno whipped cream cheese. A couple of either of these will tide you over to the next meal.
Started keto on monday, lost 6 pounds already, in my research I've found that I love you guys! Your videos and dynamic are so relatable! Plus I'm googling all the time and you guys ALWAYS have a video on a question I have.
When I have a pizza craving I go one of two ways. 1. Non-stick skillet: mozzarella straight in the pan topped with pepperoni. Low heat until the cheese melts and browns. No sugar added marinara for dipping. 2. Keto Connect air fryer biscuits: I do half and half cheddar/ Mozzarella. Add Italian/pizza seasoning and mix mini pepperoni into the mix. This also cooks up super nice in my mini waffle maker that I use for chaffles.
Here is how I satisfy the need for pizza. About 3 net carbs for slice, real pizza. imgur.com/U6c9cKL Oh, yeah, and it's cheese stuffed crust. One slice is pretty much a meal.
My weakness is No Sugar added Fudge Pops ! They are great by themselves...but I LOVE to make Power Coffee and dip them in it as I eat them....AMAZING !
Mugcake addition: melt some butter with a touch of coconut oil, put some stevia/erythrol and cacao powder. Pour it on cold mug-cake then put it in the freezer for 5 minutes .... Now you have a chocolate coated mug cake :)
@@KetoConnect I do that sometimes when I want sweet stuff. I do the almond flour version though without protein powder. I have to try the protein shake version, I am just concerned the protein gets ruined in the microwave, but it is worth a try. I might try this with pea protein (Sun Warrior) .... whey isolate behaves strange with heat. Once I put it in hot coffee and the mess that resulted was disgusting.... like ground hard boiled egg consistency:))
@@denesk2794 When you put whey protein in hot liquid, you have to make a slurry first. Just mix the powder with a teeny bit of cool liquid, just enough to make it slightly runny and then mix it with your coffee (or hot liquid of choice). It will be completely smooth.
@@peg9469 I really just eye-ball it. Maybe start with a tablespoon of coco oil and a tablespoon of butter. If it is not enough than double. Then add cocoa until it's dark, mix, don't burn it, then add stevia or erythritol. If you end up with too much then you can always just store it for next time. Butter + coco stays happy in the fridge for long.
Yeah, Bulletproof Coffee for the win! I add collagen powder too. Normally I go through phases with favorite foods because I eventually get tired of something, but BP coffee still hasn't gotten old and it's been at least a year. 👍🏻🙂
For me, chia pudding is my favorite dessert or cream cheese fluff. It's only been 3.5 months but down 18lbs and 2 sizes. I feel great with this lifestyle! Be well.
Pepperrettes, eggs, mud cakes, coconut flakes and nuts are great snacks. I also like “milk shakes” my version is 1T heavy cream, 1scoop protein powder, flavour, sweetener, 1/2 tsp xanthan gum and 12 ice-cubes, blend till smooth and drink.
My #1 is chocolate avocado pudding. Avocado Unsweetened almond milk Hershey’s cocoa Keto sweeteners Lakanto my fav Mix in blender or food processor Top with organic whip cream keto sweetener This is a fabulous dessert and can be made in large batch. It’s nutritious and has fiber. You definitely won’t think diet. My other #1 is not a food Intermittent fasting. Gets you off snacking and mindless eating. Reduces insulin a fat storage hormone and it will accelerate fat and weight loss.
Mug cakes and fat bombs kept me in the keto game when I first started out, so I think it's great that y'all included those. I'm not sure if I would have been able to make it over the initial hump without those things. I haven't made fat bombs in forever, but I have recently rediscovered my love for mug cakes. I'm cruising on into year 3 of the keto lifestyle, and feeling better than ever. So grateful for y'all's channel and blog. So many great recipes!
Whenever I want something sweet I just eat real ice cream, but I’m doing seven day fasts. My food bills are so low too I wish I would have started fasting years ago.
Hey Dan, make your own ice cream and leave the formaldehyde, sugar and other no no ingredients behind. Get a little electric ice cream maker. Keep the bowls in the freezer then whip an ice cream dream up in about 10 minutes. You KNOW what is in it and can have guilt free lovely treats.
@@mgreene300 personally 7 day fast is very extreme and quite possibly not good, however a 24hr or 48 hr food fast once or twice a month can be ok. always best to check with your healthcare provider first. Always drink plenty of water or herb tea as you need to keep well hydrated.dont do any heavy excersise while fasting a moderate walk is fine but take a drink with you. They do say cut the 3 meals a day to 2 meals a day eating all the days food within about a 4 to 6 hr window every day eg lunch at 1pm dinner at 6pm then no more food till 1pm the next day.
Hi guys, I have not watched you guys in a while and now catching up and binge watching! You have that fun reality show" feel no ow that I love so keep it up! Learning some new tips from u guys and about some new products, love u guys!! Xoxo
Dwight, here is a chef hint: put your organ meats (liver, kidney, heart, etc.) in a Ziploc bag with milk(gasp!- no worries, trust me), then marinate overnight or up to a day. When ready to cook: take meat out of bag, discard milk and bag, rinse meat with water thoroughly, then pat dry. Now cook as you will. The milk marinade is because the lactic acid draws out poisons and unhealthy chemicals that the organs normally process. This leaves you with nutrient dense delicious organ meat every time.
I accidentally hit upon a nice and easy treat. Get about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of heavy cream. Mix in the sweetener you like to taste. (I like Swerve.) And maybe a drop of vanilla or other flavoring. Put about 3/4 cup of berries in a mug. (Costco has a nice three berry choice. I prefer their frozen cherries when available.) Pour the sweetened cream over the berries. What happens is the berries are coated with frozen sweet cream. Yum. The whole thing forms a soft clot from which you can easily spoon off bites.
Thank you all who post on your weight lost and health gains, they help me (selfish I know). I keep falling off the low carb wagon. But even so I've lost 29.9 lbs. I have more energy, and as long as I eat beef three times a week I have energy (my anemia isn't a problem when I'm keto). I've got to get back on and stay on.
Same! 40lbs down since January last year. I tried keto as an experiment.. like let's see what happens, if it works it works if not I tried. Since my bday in Oct I've been on a break and I needed this list to remind me to get back to the basics. This is the only "diet" that has ever worked for me and I'm excited to get back on track.
I just started back up keto on the 1st I totally fell off on the holidays but I’m down 6lbs My list Avocados Eggs Cheese Sour cream Red meats Chicken Bacon Broccoli Cauliflower Fat bombs Pork rinds
Monique Ruriha Do you even keto bro? Just kidding lol each fat bomb can be different. I have the slim fast keto peanut butter cup fat bomb always on hand. When I make my own I usually do a strawberry cheesecake fat bomb or a cookies n cream fat bomb!
We have such a long way to go around nutrition in this country. Just met a new group of people yesterday, and the subject of nutrition came up. Everyone thought animal products where the cause of much disease. Everyone. They thought veganism was the best way to go. Nobody mentioned grains/sugars/carbs as the culprit. So sad and frustrating. I think it's probably going to take decades for this to change. In the meantime, my peeps--let's just keto on. :-) PS Excuse my Debbie downer moment here.
Its sad people think that way.. My sister had breast cancer this past year and they constantly told her that sugar feeds cancer... period. She had to eat low sugar and organic foods.
Health is one thing, sustainability is another. A big problem with animal products is that the animals they come from are raised in a way that is so harmful to the environment. If there was more push toward pasture-raising and humane practices, sustainability would be much improved.
@@cheriwilliams8 I'm sorry about your sister. I also read articles on how certain cancers feed off of fat as well. No body really seems to be talking about that. On his youtube channel, Chris Beat Cancer, he had a guest that stated that it has been proven when you restrict one pathway for cancer to feed on, it finds another, whether it's sugar, protein or fat. That explains why those fasting clinics out in CA and around the world are so successful. They eliminate all foods. Make you take multivitamins, ensure your electrolytes stay up and monitor you closely with on staff medical care during your stay. Several people have reported being cancer free after 20 days or so. The cancer is completely starved and die. They urge people not to do it alone or at home without being in a facility like theres. Most likely insurance won't cover the stay or treatment and most people couldn't afford to pay for it on their own which is why they're not popular and used by the masses. Imagine if they were covered by insurance companies, and more people sought this type of care!
I started keto because I have gained some relationship wait and wasn't loving how I felt. I did so much research from books, youtube videos, and articles online. I thought this dietary change was going to make everything difficult and inconvenient but I am really enjoying myself. All these I have incorporated from day one and I can say I feel full and satiated almost 24/7. I think the change was easier for me because I often ate a lower carb diet and incorporated health fats but my late night snacking and cravings were taking over. Although now I am way more conscious of my macros I have hardly any craving ever and when I do I resort to fat bombs!
When I started the fat bombs, keto pizza, keto snacks really carried me successfully through my transition. I rarely bother with fat bombs anymore, but still snack on nuts or dark chocolate.
Thats one of my favorite things about keto. No real cravings. I bought a Lily's salted almond choc bar to have some after dinner and when I thought about it, I didn't REALLY want it. It was more the thought of having a treat that appealed to me. The body had no desire for it. But I like that there are options when you do want something!
You guys are brilliant, keto beginner videos at the start of the new year. I bet your subscribers go up 20% or more. Good luck and I’m a subscriber for life. Maybe make a series of videos that progress with the newbies. Ie, week 2 keto and so on. Much love
Living as long as I have has been a real blast! I am cracking up at all the things you are recommending knowing there was a time that all that, to some degree or another, was a big no-no. So basically the diet that I grew up on turns out to be the best one. Looks like Mom knew what she was doing after all.
It concerns me when the word “diet” is used because diets don’t work. However, lifestyle changes are sustainable. Just sayin.... but you do you! We are in this journey together 💪🏽
Thank you this was spot on. I started doing low carb in January of 2019 and by April I was down 30 pounds easily and I used all of above except the duck and animal fats. Also did not really do as much beef. But I got comfortable and let myself and go backwards. So this was an excellent motivation to get me started back. Thank you
MaryMaryQuiteContrary Waiting for my raw 24hr yogurt to be done right now. I love it. I am VERY lactose intolerant but can drink raw milk /eat raw yogurt and only receive benefits. 😋 For those curious... • 1 gallon raw milk (regular full fat milk is fine if you can't find raw) • ~4oz of plain full fat high quality store bought yogurt (do not heat your milk!) • Mix well • Set to 24hrs • Drain off excess whey (use cheese cloth in a colander in a larger bowl. Takes about an hour.) • Separate into small containers (I use 4oz Mason jars) and eat within ~10 days The 24hr cuts the carbs VERY low and highly increases the nutrients. Look up "24hr yogurt" or "SCD yogurt" for more info.
MaryMaryQuiteContrary Yes, no need to heat. I am not sure why that was started. Doing so kills any nutrients in the milk -especially bad if using raw milk. My whole family has eaten it this way for 6 months daily and have had nothing negative occur. Doing it 24hrs will end up with a slightly more tangy yogurt than the shorter run due to the higher culture content. I add some vanilla prior to jarring it and it enhances the flavor and cuts the tang a little. If it's been in the fridge too long and has gotten really tangy I add some milkadamia (or other low carb dairy free milk) to it as I use it and the tang mellows out. Hope you enjoy it!
I make our yogurt every month in my crock pot. I still have to limit how much I eat because it is high in carbs. But, I measure everything I eat. It's easy to overeat otherwise. Like the nuts. I eat 1/4 cup at a time and I measure them.
This is actually a good refresher for those veterans like me who have been doing keto for 5 years and are stuck or just need some reminders of what other foods I can eat. Because I have been eating the same thing most of the time.
Nuts are a bad choice unless you can stick to 1/4 cup which is like a handful in 1 day.. Mug cakes are not 0 carb because no protein powder is 0 carbs and heavy cream does have carbs.. The keto pizza recipes are usually too many carbs as well.. Cheese you gotta be careful with too because you can overeat and contains casein which like sweetners will make you overeat and hungry all the time
Your information WORKS! My husband and I found you guys about 2 years ago, (now we follow y’all everywhere lol) and we studied y’all for a while, learned and began our lifestyle journey! We LIVED on your recipes and tips for a whole year!! It works! My husband lost 30 lbs, and I lost 20 in our first year! We have fallen off the straight and narrow since the holiday seasons, but will be getting back on track. I completely agree with the list you’ve put together here! Those are the first few things we started out with! Side note, when Murder She Ate came out, ugh, 1000 times more awesome. I looked forward to listening to that while at the gym and cooking! So glad MSA is back! You guys are awesome! Thanks for turning our lives around!!
I made the mistake of subbing old favorites for new, fake ones when I started. Personally I think it's best to go balls to the wall, only eat things that are whole, beef, eggs, hard aged cheese, sardines, etc etc. Keeps it simple and easy. For me anyway, seemed to work. I think it's a personality thing though, a lot of people are incapable of putting themselves in uncomfortable situations.
After over a year on Keto, my list is: Eggs Butter/ animal fats (bacon grease, tallow, fat, etc) Bacon Cheese Red meats Heavy cream (I add to tea or coffee) Nuts Vegetables (though there’s no reason to “eat your veggies” other than flavor!) Avocado Dessert replacement (I like Lily’s chocolate or Rebel/ Enlightened ice cream on special occasions)
Madison Parker I’m with you, but I would move avacado up the list - I probably eat 1 a day! Also, I just realized you left out pork rinds, I could not get through the day without the crunch. Actually, I would choose pork rinds over dessert - but I really love Rebel butter pecan!
South African biltong. It is spiced dry meat flakes. Sometimes they keep a bit fat on the edges. It is divine and very good source of energy. I eat it as a snack but mainly part of a meal.
I eat nuts and seeds. I stick my whole hand in Whatever fits into my closed fist... Which I bet is 1/4 cup. Favorites: cashews Pistachios Sunflower seeds Yum yum
Fat bombs did the trick for me, and even though I'm now trying to wean myself off of them bc they still trigger a strong glycemic response, they kept me from quitting in the beginning. Somewhat unrelated, but also something I wish I'd been told as a woman beginning keto: you can eat all the right foods and stay in a calorie deficit and still gain 5 lbs before and/or during shark week. I gain about 3.5 lbs in 12 hours and lose it again in two days, and have learned that it's totally normal. If someone had told me this in the beginning, it would have saved me a lot of unnecessary stress and frustration. You're making a great decision to be healthier that will improve the rest of your life - don't give up!!
Oh Lord, thank you for saying this. I had no idea that the weight gain during moon time could still happen on Keto. It always plagued me on Weight Watchers and always just before weigh in time. So, now I know to not sweat it cause it will go away. Bless you!

I'm 71 & became sugar free 12/12/19. Worked on carbs (even ate bread that wasn't very good) till about 1/10/20. Since then I've had no sugar & none of the bad carbs (potatoes, pasta, bread) and it's been wonderful! Can't say what I've lost but I've lost! I've tried everything including surgery twice! This is the best thing I've done & I'm looking at it as a way of life ! Hope you'll be just as happy! Just remembered that I did see my doctor & had lost about 20 pounds & she took me off the diabetic medicine I was taking (left me on the insulin once a day) Good luck!🎶🌼🎶Stay healthy💞🌸💕
What really helps me is dried fruit!! I know this is not necessarily the healthiest and not so ‘keto’ but for those just starting out in need of a sweet fix with no added sugar it helps :)) I sometimes put a few crumbles in with my yogurt and it acts almost like cereal

😳 wow wtg!
Huge amounts of green vegetables, eggs, cheese, walnuts, avocados, steak, salmon, sausages, olives, olive oil, I lost 55 pounds in 9 months eating these things. I’m 134 pounds and have been maintaining my weight for a year now.

I've lost 85 lbs since late feb of last year on Keto going from 397 to 312, its slow now but its still working,
Congrats! Way to go! You rock, so good for you. Carry on fren!

Keep up the good work, God Speed!

Slow and steady wins the race😊😊
I've tried keto several times without research. I ended up giving up each time after a week. Today I'm 4 weeks in and 11.2 lbs down. I've researched extensively before starting. Have a notebook full of keto recipes I've found and even created myself. I feel great and am incredibly committed to staying keto. Your videos have been really helpful so thank you!
HeatherRV would you kindly share?
Lessening caffeine intake should make you ketose more heavily because caffeine spikes insulin. 😉
The only low carb way of eating that is sustainable for me! 👍🤠
I need to get some Romaine, just came off of the do not eat list this week!
Cos Lettuce in Australia.
Cabbage holds up better.
great idea
YEP!
Awesome!!
Congrats on the weight loss and getting healthier!
Low carb tortillas are part of what helped me lose 112 pounds so far. Keep up the good work, sis!
Thank you for the tip, never thought to do this!
Great idea.
Thanks!
They are delicious cooked in the waffle Dash for 5 minutes! So versatile!
I love Matt's measuring techniques, a splash here and a couple of pats
But he really should measure baking powder. Baking is about chemistry, if you're off on that important ingredient the finished results won't be satisfactory.
This is how I learned to cook!

Addicted to cheeseburgers with a fried egg on top ! My health has never been better
Thanks for all the great advise !
the cheeseburger with the egg is my go to for lunch!
Yes, simple works best for me too! Been doing simple keto for 16 months and seen wonderful results.

😂😂😂 Same! Looking for a good brand of uncured bacon, though. I'm concerned about all the nitrates.

2 things I would add to the list are
1. Turkey bacon.
It is great snack for snacking on. I feel like its meatier and helps me a lot.
2. Sugar-free jello.
Those cups help cravings. Topped with a dallop of whipped cream! 🤤🤤
I remember Megha used to mention jello cups.
The thing that helped me the most in the beginning was Keto "granola." Ground flax, vanilla extract, nuts, seeds with a little erythritol. Was so helpful to have at least my first meal prepped and ready to go. Used unsweetened vanilla almond milk with it.
How does the vanilla extract work as a wet ingredient when the rest of the ingredients are dry?
newid10 it probably binds easily with the ground flax
Sarah, do you toast it in the oven? If so, how long & at what temp?
@@irishbrat4u Just put it in the milk.
For pizza cravings I will make a couple of chaffles adding some Italian seasoning to the egg mixture and mozzarella, then I top it with Raou's pizza sauce, cheese, and pepperoni, pop them in the air fryer until the cheese is browned and bubbly.
Alex I still haven't had one of those yet, any recommendations or just make it myself?
There are a couple keto pizza hacks I know of. You can put shredded cheese on a good nonstick hot pan and add your toppings and roll it up. Learned it from Erin Does The Keto. Also, if you nonstick spray a disposable pizza pan, add the sauce, then throw a handful of Parmesan down you can add your mozzarella and everything else on top of it. The parm holds the sauce together.
Chaffles are great for a quick pizza.
Try Blaze pizza. They are super tasty and keto friendly!
That sounds amazing! Thank you!
My list is:
Eggs
Cheese (Parmesan)
Grass fed butter
Full fat yogurt
Olives
Avocado and guach
Smoked salmon and seafood
Chicken
Avocado mayo
Nuts and seeds
Spinach and field greens
What is gauch?
Marlena Mann guacamole probably
Avacodo may is horrid!
I like your list.
I’m dipping parm crisps into guacamole right now! Yummy!

1) grass fed ground beef
2) grass fed steak
3) pastured eggs
4) pastured pork
5) grass fed heavy whipping cream
6) pastured chicken
7) organic cruciferous vegetables
8) grass fed ground beef
9) grass fed ground beef

My favorite snack is to mix a few pecans and macadamia nuts in a mug, put a tablespoon or so of raw milk butter, and microwave until butter is mostly melted. Stir to make sure the nuts are all covered and eat with a spoon. Great way to boost your overall fat intake for the day.
Thanks!
Yeah. As far as nuts go. Not happening. I treat them like cigarettes. Not allowed in the house. If I eat one, I'll sit there and eat 1000. Not an option.
🤪
Get them fresh, still in the shell! I bet you won't eat a thousand then, ha ha, far too much hassle
That's a wise human, knowing yourself. That's a great example of making it work for you!!
Coffee with heavy cream
Alot of new ideas to change my life, TY for mentioning heavy cream. As a treat, another video mentioned adding cocoa...100% pure baking cocoa. Cocoa and heavy cream in coffee! It is in my future.
@@Milkman3572000 I have added Cocoa powder to my coffee when I brew it. I then drink with heavy cream and a little lakanto monk fruit sweetener. Its a really good mocha.

Harold Callahan yes that is very good you can also use powdered creamer but I guess it depends on what brand you use but both are great
Ahh and add that perfect keto salted caramel..heaven!
Crafty Chrystal congratulations!! Hope you went and got new clothes...its so fun!
For me the carrot was LIVERWURST. I love it and for 40 years was denied my passion in big chunks. Some drool over bacon mine is liverwurst with cream cheese, onion and yellow mustard-not that brown stuff😎
Just starting out here, I had scrambled eggs with cheese for breakfast 8 hrs ago and I'm not hungry yet.
🤠👍🥓🍳🥑
The more good fat in your eggs or whatever your eating will make it easier to go from meal to meal. I do keto with fasting using a 18/6 split and fat gets me through the fast. So my last meal I eat lots of the fat and I am not hungry for the next 18 hours. Sometimes I just go without eating because I am not hungry. And I was a guy that would destroy a box of Suzy q,s lol
I remember when you guys only had 5k subs. Congrats on closing in on 1 mill, you deserve it 🙌🏼
New to Keto! I am on day 5 & down 7lbs. Your channel is my favorite for information, you guys have been super helpful! Thank you!!!
My core grocery items every month on keto are
1. eggs
2. cheese
3. ground beef
4. chicken breasts
5. peanut butter
6. pork rinds
7. coffee
8. cream
9. Sugar substitute
10. mixed nuts
I spend about $250/mo. on keto. Not as much as you might think.
Don’t jinx yourself. I said that too and now I’m recovering from the flu and bronchitis. But I have two small kids too 🤧
I also haven’t gotten sick in years.
@@jenniferdahl4475 Yes, Dr Berg is the man for sure.

What about Pumpkin seeds
Mug cakes with heavy whipping cream on top save me from cheating every time! Also bbq pork rinds with guacamole. Nuts & meats sticks for on the go!
bacon is life! one of my favorite meals is cheesy bacon Brussel sprouts , everything is better with bacon

Great choice, just make sure there's not a lot of be fillers

My top ten
Eggs
Avocado
Blueberries
Macadamia nuts/pecans
Ghee
Red meat
Broccoli
Cauliflower rice
Cocoa/ cocoa chia pudding
Kombucha (indulgence) 😁
Be careful because blueberries are not keto friendly, only raspberries, strawberries, blackberries.
I tried frozen cauliflower rice from Costco for the first time a few weeks ago....I'm hooked!
Just get nitrate and chemical free

I’m on my third day of Keto this is super helpful!
Started keto on monday, lost 6 pounds already, in my research I've found that I love you guys! Your videos and dynamic are so relatable! Plus I'm googling all the time and you guys ALWAYS have a video on a question I have.
Coconut flour and almond flour, those two were game changers for me when I learned, from you two, how to make "bread" alternatives.
About 3 net carbs for slice, real pizza. imgur.com/U6c9cKL
Oh, yeah, and it's cheese stuffed crust. One slice is pretty much a meal.
I love how dr berg suggests using fat bombs, eating them right after dinner to help keep you satiated for a longer duration.
Suggestion....us dairy free people tend to be left out! Could you provide a beginners top 10 for dairy free?! Thanks guys! 😍
one of my top ten, are sugar free jellos, i have a sweet tooth, these are a life savor.

Woah, great idea
This is a great idea! How much butter would you use for one mug cake........in fact, how much of everything in your recipe? I can't wait to try it!
Bulletproof coffee. Must have when I started and still is.
2 cups and you have your fats fot the entire day
Yeah, Bulletproof Coffee for the win! I add collagen powder too.
Normally I go through phases with favorite foods because I eventually get tired of something, but BP coffee still hasn't gotten old and it's been at least a year. 👍🏻🙂

Hershey’s cocoa
Keto sweeteners Lakanto my fav

Mug cakes and fat bombs kept me in the keto game when I first started out, so I think it's great that y'all included those.
How does a 7 day fast work? Newbie here. I've always shy'd away from keto because of the cost of real food plus all the prep.
Yo be careful. I almost died doing that

Big helps for me - homemade blue cheese dressing, homemade onion dip with veggies, and salami rollups (filled with cream cheese).
I do ham rolls with cream cheese. I put garlic powder and green onions in my cream cheese. I may try salami also!!
How do you make your homeade onion dip?
I Had Beef kidney pan-fried in KerryGold yesterday for the first time. It was awesome!
@@MagicHeide Can it be raw milk?
Being so confused with keto as a beginner I can't tell you how much this video helped me out and I just want to say thank you!!!🔥🙆😍
I started keto because I have gained some relationship wait and wasn't loving how I felt.
My story is the same. I rarely eat keto sweets anymore
same here .. fat bombs is great when you first start keto but after a while you just forget about them...
Ya, once on keto for about 3 months, I didn't crave this stuff any more. They are a great way to over come sweets.
After a week or so I lose all cravings for sweets .
😊
Thats one of my favorite things about keto. No real cravings. I bought a Lily's salted almond choc bar to have some after dinner and when I thought about it, I didn't REALLY want it. It was more the thought of having a treat that appealed to me. The body had no desire for it. But I like that there are options when you do want something!
Mug cakes are my kryptonite . As soon as I eliminated them I began to lose.
Is it because you ate them too often or in general they are not good for keto????
@@leviashepherd8432 it's because they are so calorie dense. They also trigger me into wanting regular desserts.

Thank you this was spot on. I started doing low carb in January of 2019 and by April I was down 30 pounds easily and I used all of above except the duck and animal fats. Also did not really do as much beef. But I got comfortable and let myself and go backwards. So this was an excellent motivation to get me started back. Thank you
Same! Best wishes ❤️
If you have an Instant Pot or any pressure cooker you can make your own yogurt so very easily... 2 ingredients, press a button & wait 10hrs...
MaryMaryQuiteContrary
Waiting for my raw 24hr yogurt to be done right now. I love it. I am VERY lactose intolerant but can drink raw milk /eat raw yogurt and only receive benefits. 😋
For those curious...
• 1 gallon raw milk (regular full fat milk is fine if you can't find raw)
• ~4oz of plain full fat high quality store bought yogurt
(do not heat your milk!)
• Mix well
• Set to 24hrs
• Drain off excess whey (use cheese cloth in a colander in a larger bowl. Takes about an hour.)
• Separate into small containers (I use 4oz Mason jars) and eat within ~10 days
The 24hr cuts the carbs VERY low and highly increases the nutrients. Look up "24hr yogurt" or "SCD yogurt" for more info.
ColoradoFLgrl thank you for the recipe.
@@Adentalgrl Thanks, I'll have to try it your way... I always heat the milk... So you're saying there's no need to with the 24hr method right?
MaryMaryQuiteContrary
Yes, no need to heat.
What protein powders do you guys recommend?
Any whey or milk protein that is low carb. Quest brand is probably the best tasting
Quest is good for drink and baking :)
Thanks guys!
@@KetoConnect what i you can't do dairy?
I listen to your podcast every day! So excited to find you on here. I am 70 pounds down on keto and learn something new every day!
Kristen Johns: Wait to go!! Congrats!! Don’t you love going for new clothes?
This is actually a good refresher for those veterans like me who have been doing keto for 5 years and are stuck or just need some reminders of what other foods I can eat. Because I have been eating the same thing most of the time.
You missed a powerhouse Keto food, Hemp hearts! a must while on Keto, very versatile, outstanding nutritional profile, and tastes great!
Yup.
And they keep you regular... So be careful when starting out with hemp hearts!
@Ayra Laputa sprinkle them on anything, or just take a small spoonful, chew and swallow.
Mmm 😋
I think sunflower seeds should be on the list!
Lighting looks much better in this video!
Matt looks a little too blue. It looks like a nighttime lighting set up, I would go for more of a daytime set up
Nuts are a bad choice unless you can stick to 1/4 cup which is like a handful in 1 day..
So butter is better than olive oil? Sweet 👌🏽
Olive oil is very low fat usually, and you want more fat in your foods, not less, so yes enjoy those delicious buttery dishes.
Get Kerrygold Butter. Grass Fed. Much better.
I made the mistake of subbing old favorites for new, fake ones when I started. Personally I think it's best to go balls to the wall, only eat things that are whole, beef, eggs, hard aged cheese, sardines, etc etc. Keeps it simple and easy. For me anyway, seemed to work. I think it's a personality thing though, a lot of people are incapable of putting themselves in uncomfortable situations.
lighting looks great ! loving the new 'studio'. congrats on getting the curve up and running !
*Thank you for sharing this informative and helpful video, guiding beginners on their keto path!*
I made an amazing shake this morning.
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/4 avocado
1 tsp olive oil
2 scoops WPI
Kate Apted hi, what’s WPI?
After over a year on Keto, my list is:
Eggs
Butter/ animal fats (bacon grease, tallow, fat, etc)
Bacon
Cheese
Red meats
Heavy cream (I add to tea or coffee)
Nuts
Vegetables (though there’s no reason to “eat your veggies” other than flavor!)
Avocado
Dessert replacement (I like Lily’s chocolate or Rebel/ Enlightened ice cream on special occasions)
Madison Parker I’m with you, but I would move avacado up the list - I probably eat 1 a day! Also, I just realized you left out pork rinds, I could not get through the day without the crunch. Actually, I would choose pork rinds over dessert - but I really love Rebel butter pecan!
Kay Z I love pork rinds! I love pork crackling even more!! 😍
Nutritional yeast is a must for me. Helps prevent hair loss!
Good to know. Ty
So does adequate protein
The lighting and new studio look awesome!
South African biltong. It is spiced dry meat flakes. Sometimes they keep a bit fat on the edges. It is divine and very good source of energy. I eat it as a snack but mainly part of a meal.
Thank you for posting this video and the free pdf for the recipes. I started keto diet yesterday .
I eat nuts and seeds.
I stick my whole hand in
Whatever fits into my closed fist...
Which I bet is 1/4 cup.
Favorites: cashews
Pistachios
Sunflower seeds
Yum yum
What is shark week?
@@bravehearthikes2838 i think the period idk
Oh Lord, thank you for saying this. I had no idea that the weight gain during moon time could still happen on Keto. It always plagued me on Weight Watchers and always just before weigh in time. So, now I know to not sweat it cause it will go away. Bless you!
Dont go so much by how much you weigh, as by the inches you lose!
SHARK WEEK. I’m dead.
Hi! M & M i'm 60 yrs old with high BP and Type 2, I have just started on my weight loss journey. My goal is to lose weight and get off of as many medications as possible. Your," You Tube" channel has been very inspirational and informative. Please keep it up.
Keto Connect
I'm 71 & became sugar free 12/12/19. Worked on carbs (even ate bread that wasn't very good) till about 1/10/20.
Since then I've had no sugar & none of the bad carbs (potatoes, pasta, bread) and it's been wonderful! Can't say what I've lost but I've lost! I've tried everything including surgery twice! This is the best thing I've done & I'm looking at it as a way of life !
Hope you'll be just as happy! Just remembered that I did see my doctor & had lost about 20 pounds & she took me off the diabetic medicine I was taking (left me on the insulin once a day)
Good luck!🎶🌼🎶Stay healthy💞🌸💕
Robert Tribull In addition to keto connect try to TH-cam channel called beat diabetes. You can learn a lot there
What really helps me is dried fruit!! I know this is not necessarily the healthiest and not so ‘keto’ but for those just starting out in need of a sweet fix with no added sugar it helps :)) I sometimes put a few crumbles in with my yogurt and it acts almost like cereal
The comment before me said keto saved her life....so I won't echo but ,yes ,it really did! Hat said ,you two are the cutest most honest most realistic but to the chase folks on keto oriented channels. The refreshingly lite product suggestions are well done and non biased. Anyway after 40 years of sluggish overweight foggy syndrome and medicines, I've lost 45 lbs in in 9 mos. And no more meds ,no hbp , no itchy rashes etc.You both are ate clear, fun and tight on!!!!thank you!!!
Y'all should do an in depth video about cheeses. Would love to know more specifically the kinds you do buy.
Thanks for the videos!
There is a youtuber called "Gavin Webber". If you wanna go down the cheese rabbit hole, he's your guy.
I'm just getting started and this was helpful.
Can you please make a video based on condiments you recommend I love all of your videos they are very helpful
New subbie - Keto beginner and had NO clue about the Mug Cake!!! Plus I love your delivery and chemistry
Just made my first mug cake. Using Atkins chocolate powder. It tasted like chocolate maltomeal. It’s was good. I love and miss maltomeal and now I’m going to have for breakfast.
