    INGREDIENTS
This recipe makes 4 flatbreads (less than 1g carb per bread)
    1/2 cup almond flour (68g)
    2 - 3 Tbsp. psyllium seed husks
    1 Tbsp. olive oil
1/2 tsp. baking soda (not baking powder!)
    1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup warm water (start with 1/2 cup and add more if needed. Note: I added 1 cup in the video but almond flour varies with brands/type so start with a small amount and add gradually)

You don’t need carbs they just turn into sugar and they’re unnecessary.
Your body doesn’t know the difference between a tablespoon of white sugar and a peach or a bowl of pasta. Have healthy saturated fats from beef, eggs, coconut, avocado or grass fed butter. Glad you’re doing so well. Every glucose spike is damaging that’s why

I am curious … I cannot process sugar so must read the ingredient label on everything. So many products labeled “no sugar “ actually have sugar like agave syrup, maltose etc. I worry about diabetics being fooled by the “no sugar” claims. Are diabetics educated about those sugars?

Thank you so much for this! I actually adjusted the recipe, I used 1/2 cup coconut flour, 1/2 cup almond flour , 2 1/2 spoons of psyllium and 1/2 cup of warm water. It turned out perfectly! Note to all: The grind and consistency of all the dry ingredients makes a huge difference. My psyllium husk is much coarser than the type used in the video, so I actually put mine through a coffee/spice grinder. It made a massive difference: I filled the grinder to the limit line, and once ground, the psyllium husk came up to just above the half-way mark. The psyllium used in the video is very fine. Once I ground everything down to very fine, I re-made these tortillas with far more success. So the consistency DOES make a huge difference.

I made mine by toasting the almond flour beforehand. Could also toast coconut flour. I found it helped immensely in the final taste. It may have changed the liquid absorption so I am continuing to play with the amount of psyllium husk added. Also even though I rolled them out for toasting in a frying pan, I also put one of the rolled out rounds into my mini waffle maker and that turned out just as well as the ones cooked in my cast iron frying pan. So far this recipe seems to be the best I've encountered anywhere on TH-cam!

The fact is carbohydrates convert to almost pure sugar and drive up your blood sugar. So when you're craving carbs you're really craving sugar. Whether you realize it or not. I found this out the hard way and ended up with type 2 diabetes. I haven't had to take medication for my diabetes for over a year by sticking with a strict keto diet. But I do miss bread and I hope this recipe helps me out.

Hi and thank you for sharing this, I'm not 100% "Keto" but basically interested in adopting a cleaner plant based diet, like you said that "tastes good". I said goodbye to meat almost a month ago and want to eat what I make in my own kitchen using better ingredients. I'm not supporting the fast food industry making millions sick with heart disease on a pretty bun anymore. I've lost over 90 pounds on my journey and it's not about being on a diet or just losing weight, being thinner or looking more attractive. I want to change my life, feel better, be healthier, and hopefully reverse some of the damage I've inflicted on my body not knowing any better really. By sharing your recipes, fails and ways that work better for you, you show people like me that it's not impossible or extremely hard to change our ways. Maybe the result will be less people dying of heart disease or suffering from diabetes, etc. Thank you for sharing :)

INGREDIENTS This recipe makes 4 flatbreads (less than 1g carb per bread)
    1/2 cup almond flour (68g)
2 - 3 Tbsp. psyllium seed husks 2 initially and 1 reserved for later
    1 Tbsp. olive oil
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt 1 cup warm water
Place all ingredients into bowl. Stir. Add the remaining psyllium husk powder til consistency that can be gathered into a ball.
Roll into a ball then let rest in cling film for at least 10 minutes.
Divide ball in 4 after resting period.
Roll out each between two pieces of kitchen paper.
Fry each in a pan and flip when it starts to bubble up. Check underneath.
Flip it over and let the other side cook. Keep the heat low so it doesn't go black.
Have a plate ready and then cook the next and so on.

5 stars!! Fan, thank you so much. Just made and they came out perfect. This is about the 5th different tortilla recipe I've made, others are close, but yours is a home run! Super pliable with no bad after taste. Good chew without being chewy. Slight mods, I added a 1/2 tsp of allulose, only used about 1/3 cup of water, and used a tortilla press and portioned into six 31g portions. AMAZING. No crazy ingredients, so super easy and super cheap to make. I wish I could upload a pic to show off. Highly recommend.

Even if you eat meat and other animal products, they do not need to be in every single recipes. Animal farming does put a lot of strain on the enviroment, so I personaly am very aware of how much I actualy need for substinance and only buy exactly that much. It is a very special thing for me and I celebrate preparing and eating it. I probably watched to many nature and indigenous people dokus as a child ^^
Dairy and eggs are out for they makes me sick, so yeah, a lot of my meals are vegan although I am eating some typ of animal most days.

I made this bread and the first two attempts were a disaster! When I added a cup of water, it was WAY too much. It was a soupy mess and stuck to the pan with no hope of peeling it off. I almost gave up, but it looks so good. I cut the water in half, and then it looked just like how the video shows. I also use silicone mats to roll between the two mats, and it works wonderfully!

So many comments about dough too wet. The purpose of adding water is to bind the dough, not to use up as much water as you can. Just add, bit by bit, until you achieve your dough. Even regular all-purpose flour varies greatly, and nut Flours vary according to texture etc. Drop by drop.

I’ve made these a couple of times now and love them! One of the things I’ve missed most following a vegan keto was of eating is bread, so this recipe has been a lifesaver 😊. I’ve added Italian spices to it and used it as a pizza base, and for something sweeter tasting I used coconut oil for cooking them and then made a filling of vegan cream cheese with some stewed strawberries . Super yummy! My tortilla press makes beautiful round flatbread out of the dough as well. Thanks so much for sharing this awesome recipe 💜
