@Ruben Marin, I'm glad you've found this video helpful. Just a simple drain and fill process. It only needs to be done once about every 30 thousand miles and you can buy the transmission fluid in a 5 quart jug ,that's enough for about 2 service intervals👨🏾🔧👍🏾
@Rusty Shackleford, I scored this skid plate some time ago at my local junkyard. It came off of a 1996 Nissan D21 king Cab 4X4 5 Speed Hard-Body Pick up. It can also be found on a 1987-1995 Nissan WD21 Pathfinder 4X4.
I was getting ready to do my transfers case oil change. But I realize it wasn’t pink. It was actually clear similar to the defferential oil. I just barely got it. I was wondering if it would make a difference if I mixed it obviously taking out the old Trafford case oil and replacing it with dexron 3.?
Thanks chris for your Response. We’ll honestly the transmission is Automatic but 4x4 is Manual. I just got this rig and I wanted to have a peace of mind in the maintenance side you get me?. I’m little by little wanting to get it ready for some Off roading session. (By the way great videos brother)
@chris reyes, your definitely doing the right thing by getting caught up on this key bit of maintenance. You can just simply drain the old fluid and then refill with your Dexron 3. I think you will have a lot of fun with your R50 once you leave the pavement, I know I do lol. Hey, thanks again for watching Chris, and welcome to the channel🏜️🚙 Chris.
Thank you Chris I appreciate the response again brother. Hey listen, keep doing what you doing brother, your videos are totally amazing man. Thanks for the pass down knowledge. (shout outs to all the R-50 owners out there.)
I need to do this and a transmission fluid change for my 03 qx. Is this considered a front differential fluid change? Or is the transfer case fluid change a completely separate thing?
@Jake Rubcich, yes the transfer case and front differential are completely separate things. I have videos that cover the front and rear differential service as well. It's pretty easy the process is more-less the same, the only real difference is gonna be the types of fluid to be used in your differentials vs your transfer case, as the differentials take gear oil (80W90 with a limited-slip additive) if you have a limited-slip differential and automatic transmission fluid for the transfer case (Dexron-III or Mercon) I hope this helps. Also, be sure to consult your owner's manual. Here are some links to the front and rear differential service videos. Finaly!
Been looking for a video that really takes me step by step. I'm willing to do oil change to my 99 4x4 pathfinder...

my favorite part is at 5:40 ... "Let's get ready to receive some fluid" ... that's what SHE said!
I need to do this on my 01 SE. Thanks for the walkthrough!
@Joe Mason, your very welcome.
I actually like these rigs... I've got a 99 QX4
@Rob Mack, welcome to the Channel and thanks again for watching!

Where did that skid plate come from? I’d love to find/buy one.

@chris reyes, you can use either dexron 3 or API GL4 in the transfer case. I'm curious is your R50 an automatic or manual transmission?
Chris.

Is this a front differential or transfer case ? It look like a front differential fluid change.
@Khanh Nguyen, This is the transfer case.

@@TheCamperDanFiles This was really helpful. Thank you Chris!
@Jake Rubcich, Your very welcome anytime!
How do I know if my differential is limited slip or not? Cheers!@@TheCamperDanFiles
Can i use automatic transmission fluid to fill the transfer case?
Yes, use dextron3 or similiar liquid
