@leonavarathne, yes, rust is one of the biggest issues on this platform outside of oil burning, especially in a place like Quebec. But then again, I'm sure there's a lot of other makes and models that are dealing with rust issues in that region as well. Thanks again for watching and sharing your experience💪🏾 Chris.
Great review and tips! I have have been keeping an eye out for coolant leaking near the idle air control valve "IACV" for my 02 Pathfinder, and knock on wood no leaking yet. I did purchase the OE Hitachi IACV just in case. I do not have many miles on my Pathfinder less than 110K. I do a drain and fill of the coolant in the radiator every two years using the OE green Nissan fluid for the past 15 years and it is possible that by doing that and keeping the additives in the coolant fresh mixing with distilled water keeps the old seals in the IACV from breaking down. I also spray atp 205 on all the original rubber bushings and original cv boots. So far no problems yet. Thanks again Chris for your channel and all your great videos! Hope you and your family have a happy and safe Christmas and New Year!
R50 Pathfinder 1997 1998 1999 2000 all way up to 2004 have transmission issues for automatic transmission and timing belts or timing chains and it also have issues and problems with the lower suspension.
I know R50 Pathfinder bring alot tribute of hard work issues it took me a 15-year fixed gas ⛽️ tank issue and Axel stuff, and the rust is the most challenging part I know with God help my Nissan R50 Pathfinder will work out well
Hey, just wanted to ask where you got your front wind deflector/bug guard from? Or was it OEM? I bought a weathertech verison but it doesn't look nearly as good as the one on your vehicle. Thanks!
@leifberg4713 This is an OEM one I scored at the junkyard a few years ago. However, here's a link to an OEM-style one: amzn.to/4gq2H8M. You can also find links to almost everything I use on my R50 in the description of this video. Thanks again for watching, and welcome to the channel! Chris.
I do have 2 issues in my 2003 R50. I got little leak on the power steering axle, I'm thinking of adding a Lucas stop leak to fix that and see. Another one, is after running my baby for a trip and turn off the engine for about 15 minutes and start it again it works on the second time normally and like roughly. Today, I cleaned up the air sensor and kind of still nothing change unless the car become smoothly. Really annoying and confusing issue. I wonder if the problem in the fuel system. and for notice no engine light appearing on cluster.
It sounds like you have a couple of issues to tackle there. Perhaps a clogged fuel filter is to blame for the rough start. I would start by replacing your fuel filter since it's cheap. I always recommend starting with the cheapest and easiest things first. Chris.
Great review Chris, thanks. Rust...oh yeah, you can say that again. I got a real battle on my hands here in Quebec with my R50

Chris.
I'm in Canada....can confirm rust is a big issue.
@user-cl9ks9kt2l, that's one of the harshest places an R50 can be, and an even bigger issue for rust. Thanks again for sharing!
