The fill bolt on my (Xterra) was super tight, would not even budge with a torque wrench. But I tried when everything was warm after getting home from a drive and was able to loosen it no problem - just watch out for those hot exhaust pipes. The bottom bolt: it was barely on, no problem loosening it even when cold.
Hi. You are using liquid teflon for the plugs. Repair manual of Nissan Pathfinder 2003 says Permatex Ultra Grey (Grey Silicon) for the transfer case. Which is better?
I have a 98 with the all mode 4x4 and changed the t case fluid. I notice now that there is a whining noise coming from it when i am in 4x4 and in drive. When in park the noise goes away. Apparently i have to replace the transfer case motor... anyone else had this problem?
Hi, what has caused the black stain on the transfer case? I have the same blackness and do not know where it is coming from. I suspect something leaking and being blown onto transfer case? Any ideas? Thanks

Thanks man!
Never use your good torque wrench for loosening bolts. It will screw up the settings on wrench

Great vid. This also applies to 2000-2004 Nissan Xterra and
Frontier.
For manual trans use gear oil in the t case.Autos use Matic D for the t case.

Same for '02 xterra?
+GoPro Jay We don't have a how-to video for your vehicle right now, but the basic steps in this video should be enough to do this task.
Thank you
