@KGBMajorValeriP It's possible if you manage to escape the area but you can't see that area without the hud so you just gotta make an educated guess. However there is a glitch where if you're in your "getting out of a vehicle at high speed" animation when the red meter fills, the HUD actually remains and you can see how large the zone is.
As a test, I used the armored truck and drove from one side of Miami all the way to Tony's mansion while I was fucked. There, no cops will spawn on foot. I quickly ran inside and shot down the police chopper and lost them actually. I once had a bug where the HUD didn't dissappear and the search zone is huge, although once outside no new cop cars will spawn, I even believe there is a video on TH-cam showing this bug. Only happened to me once tho. Also, the hotel in Downtown featured in one of the first missions where you throw that guy of the penthouse rooftop has a working elevator. If you take that while you are fucked, you also instantly escape. I do wonder if its possible to use a boat and escape to the other island or the plane, haven't tried it yet.
Yeah that bug with the HUD not disappearing is strange but seeing that huge red zone is scary. And I've tried escaping with a boat, I always get sniped out of my boat before I make it to the edge

I actually tried that. I was fucked and went to the mansion. Went to the boathouse and spawned a boat. While escaping to the islands. You can shoot the chopper down and lost the cops
I have had that same bug few times also and i have managed to survive you are fucked few times. All i did was had strong car enough or use the car repair cheat then drive until cop cars dont spawn and destroy the chopper then you suddently lost the cops and the hud also reappears
The quickest way for me to escape the cops is to find water and using the floating plane, it will instantly get you to a menu where you can select the other docks, really handy shen you about to get fuck
I will say that you can also raise the wanted status by killing people which can only be done as Montana's henchmen that are playable when you hire them(Driver, Assassin, Enforcer) and it is possible to escape when the red bar is filled, just requires a lot of luck and definitely have to shoot the police helicopter down when you get to a safe area (no way to know where a safe area is because HUD is turned off and you can't check the map). But aside from these missed details, great video.
I remember in the "you are fucked" state I use the building used in one mission to lose this state, the building are open on free roam and i entry in the elevator the game clear the current wanted level.
I really wish I had found this game back then, as Tony's character of sparing innocents is my playstyle in such games, as I am a merciful person. And I love that you showed the fast talk success function, only found fail videos about it. Overall, I love how you can interact chat with NPCs, a unique idea for its time. RDR2 came the closest to this feature. Next to the godfather games. Think you do the police here too?
I only managed to get away twice when I got the message that I was screwed. Its artificial intelligence will be very simple but the response of the police in this video game is one of the most brutal.

This game is my favourite game to just go in once in a while, chill and just do a couple of gang raids while listening to 80s music. No other open world game feels as inviting and real as this one. I would say this is the closest to what a breaking bad game would be, if converted to the media.

It takes place in Miami during the 80s, if I have time I'm gonna give this game a try The wanted level system of this game looks kinda unique to me, especially that "You are F*cked!" stage where the HUD disappears which makes the game more challenging, also it looks kinda similar to GTA IV where you have to get out of those search circles on the map in order to shake off the cops This game also reminds me of GTA Vice City too, yeah the atmosphere

Well over 200 hours of my life spent on this game. No regrets. Always hated how Tony actually _loses_ balls for shooting police, especially when the state is far more powerful than the petty groups seen in the game, like the Diaz Brothers. It seems to me like taking on the state is the most 'ballsiest' thing one could do. The infinitely respawning helicopters whose accuracy is extreme are another nuisance for those players who like to go on killing sprees-thankfully, there are certain indoor areas which allow for avoiding them somewhat. After all, you last about... a few seconds... out in the open. In partial response made to some of the points made by other commenters: I always assumed 'You Are Fucked' meant damn well what it said. A few years ago I heard that some people actually made it out of Miami by boat, and reported bugs (presuming these changes aren't outright intentional), such as that Tony becomes _invincible_ upon return to Miami. Somehow it never occurred to me to try the hotel elevator that others here have mentioned, which they allege allowed them to return back to normalcy. Downtown was always my favourite killing spree area as well, and I distinctly remember 'going postal' on the police in the front of that hotel. Naturally I welcome any comment replies from people who have managed to escape the 'You Are Fucked' stage regarding how you got out of it. It's a game I'll be returning to soon-probably my third favourite game of all time.
I think the whole losing balls when shooting police is probably to balance out the rage mode so you don't abuse it. It's pretty dumb to be honest Also I have escaped when the red meter is filled, the map kinda glitches out for a bit when it reappears and you see a huge red zone where the chase started. This made the military base on GTA 5 look like a walk in the park. There is a way to live through this with a glitch that made you invincible and no matter how long u stayed out in the open. You cannot die. Always had fun doing the glitch and surviving afterwards
You know what could of been a cool idea? In a what if scenario. Scarface and Miami Vice both set in the same world. Like a cinematic universe sort of way. Miami Vice could be a continuation of the movie or something. If they changed the plots around a little bit. 😄😉👍🏻
I actually didn't knew the cops wouldn't shoot you immediately if you were in that first stage of wanted level, I played so much GTA before this which made me think they would immediately try to arrest me and take all of my weapons and cash away just like GTA, and with that mindset, I immediately just tried to drive away every time. Turns out that working with them is easier, faster and you lose some heat which is always welcome, besides it's a great detail how they ask you to put your weapon away while pointing theirs at you, they're aware Tony is a threat but instead try to de-escalate the situation, it's something I've seen a bunch of real cops do as well.
cop heat also affects the police response in the lose the cops stage with low cop heat very little officers and roadblocks will spawn, with high a fuckton will spawn
They should have made another game or POV where you play on the police side, like DEA, FBI and in other cities as well like New York Chicago L.A. where you have to confiscate coke and kill or arrest drug lords like Montana.
When you mentioned playing as the authorities, i think it should be optional. You could be a criminal or a cop because sometimes playing as a good person is boring in video games
Somehow, I get the M16 from the SWAT before progressing the game and then proceeded to enter the building where you confront Gaspar man, I almost didn't make it but i lost him at least 👮🏻 Another thing that you forgot to mention is that if you manage to lose the cops when you have no escape, the red circle is bigger, covering almost the entire Map, basically the game tries to punish you in its own way for causing problems 👮🏻♂️
You didn't mention that failing to fast-talk the cops would result in you losing all your dirty cash and drugs, much like dying when not in a story mission.
Great channel, your videos are useful for indie game developers who have been learning about open world AI combatants. Gta 5 AI cops are different because they will surround your position and pick cover near your position. Their attack range is more far away from Scarface game. I love that the AIs in open world games know the difference between large obstacles and cover objects. They won't come to your position unless you are behind the large buildings, walls etc.
I was playing it for the first time rn, i did a gang hideout, and the cops came during it. But I still finished the gang hideout. I just started, and I had 90k on me, which is a lot to me because I just started. Then I tried driving. Then it said "you are fucked" then I was like "what" then my hud turned off and I was confused, and then they exploded my car. I tried running, then I was layered. I didn't understand, so I came here. Thanks!
i Remembered when im go to the bank for hide and war with police in scarface until 5 or 6 hours . and then no longer helicopter swat dea and police to chase me. and im take the car and go to the other place and middling far from the crime scene and then im succes to getting away from cops. but if you step your foot on this street you get killed instantly form random shot. i don,t know where its came from. if this shot from the helicopters. i take down helicopters with missile launcher when im engaged with police. i think its a sniper when im kid just like ending in this video. this game its very best when im playing this when im kid. this cops in this game very brutal
I remember these fucking cops following me during one of the missions - I think it's the one Tony HAS to drive a truck and not let it exploed bc it has cocaine or something and you have to get it to your Storehouse in Little Havana. And I got the "Lose the cops" message, maybe bc my cop heat was high or bc of some cars I crashed in the way bc it fucking sucks to drive that truck, it's super slow. Luckily for me I was pretty close to one of Little Havana/Downtown ports, and jumped on the water and called a boat to make them go away and later paid the cop heat. I've tried once escape to the mansion once I've got the "You're Fucked", and it was a nightmare because of the chopper. I never knew that the cops don't spawn on foot bc I never tried to leave the mansion like Yorpie said below. Heh, makes me wanna try it out just to see if I could take down the chopper.

Most of the features in the game are present before gta iv, its likely gta iv was mostly inspired by this game.

That police beating scene gave me strong Warriors vibes. Also those sirens use the same sound as those used in World's Scariest Police Chases.
