I like Scarface more than VC. It really makes you feel like a rich drug baron, unlike VC, which rarely mentions drug trade. The only thing i don't like about Scarface is it is a bit merciless - in VC, once you get used to controls you can easily get through most situations. In Scarface, knowing how to control well is not enough. Further you progress, harder the game becomes. The last two missions were really painful for me.

Imagine making a video game heavily based on a really old movie. And then years later the rights to said movie gets bought to make a game that is heavily based on the video game that was based on the movie. An homage to an homage.
If you read up on the development story behind these two you'll find it funny to know how VC used the scarface movie as reference material (and even references an easter egg) while Scarface (the video game) also used vice city as a reference while also containing an easter egg from VC.
Vice City kinda sucks tbh you only remember it as good because you probably played it back in the days. I played it after San Andreas and couldn't believe how much they had improved pretty much everything in SA compared to vice city.

Well yea i played it on my ps2 back in '07, then ps2 broke. Year ago i got another used slim ps2 from a game store and Scarface, got happy thinking i can play it again but now every time by the one bank i got a drug deal or killing gangsters, game slowly glitches then freezes, every single time no matter what i do. So stupid, so now i can't play it anymore.
Scarface will forever remain one of the best games I've ever played. And look, it might be nostalgia or whatever, but damn if it doesn't feel good to revisit this masterpiece.
The only bad thing about scarface is that you cant go in a full rampage because if the bar fill up you are instantly killed. It makes sense since the point its to avoid public attention but sometimes you just want to kill everybody in the game to release stress

You have to see both of them on a good CRT TV. I played them on a Sony Triniton and GTA Vice City has strong aesthetics but Scarface also has great aesthetics but the graphics look like a PS2 version of GTA 4 and 5. It smokes Vice City.
Scarface had a better map. And he can run low and swim. But vice city had the better music and characters. Tommy can jump. The graphics were the same, it's the artyle that's real different. I prefer vice city.
The game is amazing but unfortunately it doesn't work well on new systems. I loved it back in the day but when I tried to run it on my newer PC the textures were completely messy and couldn't see anything. Another reason why we need a remake :/

The engines that were used in both games fit the premise of each game perfectly if you look at it💯Tony wasnt a public criminal, he was a gangster and had self codes to follow as to why you couldnt kill NPCs. In GTA the whole premise is to cause destruction and have fun whereas in Scarface you can sell drugs and have a money to drugs meter to show your progress. The saving mechanics are different too and its a pretty decent way to have its own style and still be enjoyable (to me atleast).
I remember that Scarface game, best part was taking over different areas and killing every gang member to get it… really nostalgic considering I played it a long time ago, I’ll never forget the horse mission…

If Tony has a high reputation in Scarface, you don't even need to pull people out of their cars. If you press the dialogue button Tony can normally convince people to get out of the cars on their own lol.

The sound part would be interesting. PS2 GTA cars have cutted audios and the gears are endless. Showing the physics of the crashes and vehicles available in each game (Cars, bikes etc) would also be interesting

I never played Scarface, I grew up with Vice City. Judging just by the video, Vice City looks more like Miami. I was born in Miami and visit often, and Vice City really pulled of the perfect Miami look. Scarface seems to have more of a golden Hollywood glow to it. Vice City's South Beach looks almost like the real Miami.

GTA:VC was released in 2002 and Scarface was released in 2006, 2 years after GTA:SA. If you compare GTA:SA to Scarface, SA will be the better game, right? Those 4 years made a huge difference back then.

Don’t forget this If you behaving good in scarface the npc will recognize you most of the times you can take their car without stealing like tony will say “can i take your car?” “Sure mr tony” And also if you honk at vehicles in the street they give you way and also recgonize you
unfortunately the problem with scarface is its limited accessibility. You cant really play it on modern computers because it only really runs on hardware from 2006 whereas VC doesnt have that issue.

Nice comparison video. I loved both games back in the day, and desperately wanted another Scarface (or similar) game from the developers that would sadly never come. It more than gave the GTA series a run for its money at the time (though Vice City has a LEGENDARY soundtrack). If any game deserves a proper update to take advantage of modern console and pc capabilities, it's Scarface. Again though, that will sadly never happen.

SA has a bigger map but Scarface has way more activities and combat/gameplay systems
Scarface is unbelievably good in all aspects details and gameplay full of action and fighting with gangs also taunting enemies was fun getting eaten by a shark was amazing detail.Cars,ships,henchmen all was mind-blowing fantastic i enjoyed this game very much when it was launched....

Scarface needs a remaster and NOT remaster the GTA trilogy got, a legit complete rebuild, that game was so good

Till now it has no competition such a beautiful master piece with twists and turns the turfs and cocaine smuggling through river was fun

unfortunately the problem with scarface is its limited accessibility. You cant really play it on modern computers because it only really runs on hardware from 2006 whereas VC doesnt have that issue.
That's not true. You need silentpatch to work on modern systems, and Scarface has it's own community Patch
Mad how a game from a movie came out 23years after the film that nobody expected or asked for yet we are still so truly grateful that we got a Scarface game! Amazing game and really wish they still made games based on great movies.

GTA VC is one of my favorite GTA Games but personally Scarface is more advanced and better
Nice comparison video. I loved both games back in the day, and desperately wanted another Scarface (or similar) game from the developers that would sadly never come. It more than gave the GTA series a run for its money at the time (though Vice City has a LEGENDARY soundtrack). If any game deserves a proper update to take advantage of modern console and pc capabilities, it's Scarface. Again though, that will sadly never happen.
