According to lore in the manual of Black Monday, the first game is set in 2002. Also in free roam, the police may chase you if a gang car drives through the area even if neither of you engaged in combat. Regular NPCs will freak out as well.

Early 2000s UK is always an interesting setting for a car/crime game, there's too many American gangster games tbh, UK is always welcome

Indeed. Other countries deserved their own games with their own gangsters.

Very good video. One thing though you forgot to mention is that if you keep reversing with the camera spun around, no cops or gang cars spawn.

Good video and analysis. This game is really ahead of its time. There are a lot of interesting features. By the way, are you planning to analyze the behavior of the police in the game 171, Just Cause 1-2?

I wonder why some of the car lanes are demarcated with squiggly lines.

Seeing how easy it is to get cop cars to crash into scenery reminds me of how easy it is to do in The Saboteur. Any interest in doing that game for these videos?

I really want to see a video analysis of police behavior in games such as Just Cause 1 and 2, Saints Row 2, 171 game, The Saboteur, La Noire. There you can find interesting points for analyzing their reactions and behavior

I think it would have been better if the Police AI had of worked on a wanted level. For instance non gun crimes would result in them dragging the player out of the car or they just draw their guns/tazers and then the scene ends with "Arrested" as at the time in the UK. The cops would only use guns in an armed situation. This is more flawed that the cop AI in GTA V is.
