Replace the rubber seal around the sunroof glass. Once the rubber gets old it loses It's shape and hardens and does not seal anymore. Ask the dealer at Ford or go to an auto glass shop for a new rubber seal.

Use a razzor blade to clean your sunroof glass with that over spray on there.👍

Places around my area quoted me prices that are greater than what my car is worth to replace the seal. Gonna just take the makeshift fixes for now :/

My 2011 corolla has rust in a few spots where the seal attaches to the glass underneath so the seal is coming off the glass. The moon roof/glass has very thin metal where the glass seal is attached to the rubber seal. Not too much I can do for that but replace the moon roof glass itself.

The product that I've had the best luck with so far is Gorilla glue clear repair.
      (COMPANY DESCRIPTION)
The ideal solution for almost any repair, Gorilla Clear Repair features the strength of Gorilla Tape in a weatherproof, airtight, crystal clear tape. Fix, patch, seal, hold and protect almost any surface with a crystal clear appearance for a perfect fix every time.
      Details:
      Clear
      1.88" x 27ft
It's very clear and not very noticeable if applied with a squeegee pushing all air bubbles out. lasted 6 months on my car perfectly so far.. But it will have to be removed, goo goned, cleaned, and reapplied mid summer time. The Florida sun and heat eventually will cause the plastic side to become brittle but the glue side holds on for dear life. I've used other tapes for quick leaking sunroof fixes and they have all ended up eventually lifting at the edges. Then the edges start to catch air during highway speeds and eventually you end up with fluttering streamers flapping all over the top of your car.

I own one of these cars. The engine & trans are bullet proof but the rest of the car is built like shit. You need a new moonroof glass gasket. Then, blow out the 4 drain holes. Two in front, two in the back with air from a shop compressor. They drain behind each of the 4 wheels from a rubber tube. If you look good enough, you'll find them. People recommend blowing the air through the drain hose from the outlet side (outside the car side). The reason is because if you do it from the inside and it has a bad clog, it will blow the hose off inside nipple. Then you will have a big mess. Use these methods if you plan on using the moonroof and not sealing it. I just sealed mine up today and it looks great. I'm going to tell you how to do it. Since your window still works, it should be cake to clean. Windex all around the inside of the window gasket and a little bit of the top edge of the gasket because the sealant will sit on top just a little bit and you want it to be clean. Use paper towels or a rag to clean the rubber gasket. Use this method to clean around the hole that the widow sits in. Next, repeat this same process but this time with rubbing alcohol. Get the good alcohol that's 90%-99%. Not that 50% crap. Set the window in the up position. Use masking tape or painter's tape. You want to leave a little bit of the body and gasket showing so it has something to bond to. Like 1/32" or 1/64" from the edge of the body & the gasket. Everything is in the preparation. The better you tape, the better it will look. Try to get the squeezable tube caulk instead of the caulk that goes inside the gun for better control. I had to use clear caulk because the one I wanted only came in clear not black. Cut a real small piece off the tip of the caulk on a 45 degree angle. Flat side down, start sealing in the gap. Use a 1+1/2" paint scraper to smooth and get all the excess off. Don't allow the caulk to dry before peeling off the tape. You need to peel the tape while its still wet. I did it in 2 halves. like 2 "U"'s. Caulk, scrape smooth, peel the tape off. Don't do this in the direct sun. The caulk will dry too fast. Work in the shade. Next you will have to disable the moonroof switch. That plastic part that holds the switch and the light lenses pops right off with your fingers. You can either cut the power wire or remove the switch. I removed my switch and covered the back of the hole with a piece of paper filled in with a black marker. It looks good! You can't tell! Disconnect the battery while doing the switch. If that roof moves, it will break the seal and all that work for nothing. I used this gnarly stuff. "GE Window and Door advanced silicone 2.8 fl. oz. White squeezable tube with a gold & blue label. 100% waterproof". Got it at Walmart. That's why they call me Mr. Lincoln. You owe me one cheeseburger for this.

You should not have done that. What you explained as your problem is perfectly normal. A sunroof glass is not water tight There is a drain system in place to remove the water that seaps in. When you had your glass in the vent position, the part that you put your hand on is part of the drain system. I've installed sunroofs for twenty five years and I have had to explain this to a lot of people.

I honestly doubt that repair will hold and I would bet money it would have leaked again once you cut through the flex seal. If anything I think that will cause your gasket to further degrade as it gets older and hardens. If I were you I would just throw in the towel, try to clean all of that mess off before it fully cures and buy a new gasket. You can still get them from Ford for around $100. I am not sure how easy it would be to install it and how much if any tear down you would need to do to install it but that would seem to be your best option.
