4th gen was the least attractive Towncar ever produced and I own one.

That drain is for gas overflow not body water.

They are both 3rd gens, 03 and onward had the refreshed facia but other than that and the treatment in the rear the bodys' are the same

Love everything about the 3rd gen...but you get a tachometer with the 4th and that's really cool. Can't go wrong with either one!

The extra space probably has to do with safety in case of an accident kinda like crumple zone

I am interested! These Fusions are tempting because of the MPG. Maybe the top Platinum/Titanium trim. You got a nice low mileage one. I'm a big, floaty boat sedan guy but my Lucerne is getting old. I have to think where to park the big Buick, like you Town Car drivers. LOL. Also, nice shout-out to Car Wizard. I got my Lucerne because he noted that it was the last big sedan with the GM 3.8L 3800 engine.

Love my 2001 ! It's in mint condition. Fun to drive and great on gas. Got 200.000 KM on the engine but it's working like new.

Funny. I owned a '95 SDV, '98 DeV Concours, and a '99 DTS. The Early DTS was the worst selling of all time. It had no identity with Cadillac. The 2nd gen from 2006-7 only made up half of the lost sales of the previous generation. I now only have my '99 TC and '69 Cadillac.

3:08 Actually, that Grand Marquis has the same type of Gauge Cluster as your Town Car, Analog Guages with a Digital Driver Info Screen in the center, since that Marquis is the VERY LAST ITERATION (2006-2011 (Similar to your Town Car)).

I have a 2001 Cartier L and a 2004 Ultimate L and an 06 Signature Limited. I'm not a fan of the rounded front grille and the dated looking, huge headlight housings on the 2001. The updated styling for 03-11 was well done. I prefer the old style recirculating ball steering set-up vs the rack and pinion steering of the later gen. I find it to be smoother and I prefer dished offset wheels vs later flat-faced wheels. I like the power trunk lid with power pull-down latch on the 03-11. The 98-04 steering wheel controls are far superior to the 05-11 controls. My absolute favorite Panther Town Car seats are the 90-94 Cartier seats. Nothing else comes close.

The first two are Crown Vic Sports with the buckets and floor shift. The grilles were color matched on Sports only. There are other differences and they are quite rare. I just got a 05 Sport with 50k original and love it way more than my 01 740il sport.

At 4:37, that light is impossibly pale. Today, it was 6F outside. I wanted the heater on. I couldn't remember if I turned it on, so I looked for the light. I even cupped my hand around it. I couldn't it. Unless it's night, I just can't see that seater indicator. :-b

My grandmother bought one of these new- in the early 2000s- was that beautiful ivory white color with a green top. My brother and I used to sit and screw with the rear seat controls. Loved that car- you got one hell of a good deal.

The acid test for headlight adjustment would be to have a friend sit in their car about 2-3 car lengths away either facing you (as in oncoming traffic) or away from you (as in you following someone), then have them tell you if they seem to be blinded by the headlights or not. Then go to hi beam - they'll definitely be blinded - and back to low beam so they can see the difference. Then switch places so you can see exactly what your headlights look like to others.

i grow tired of you so called experts trying to be one. all cars have pros and cons. i have a 2012 verano i bought new and still drive it everyday. it has 290,000 miles on it and with the exception of routine maintenance i would drive the car to mars. as far as lincolns, the air bag suspensions were a disaster and the sub frames rotted away and the engines were junk. try a new line of comparing stuff like coke or pepsi

5:31 okay im glad im not the only one who notices the no lumbar support which sucks but im glad the car will alert after two hours of driving to take a break. But they have the feature in the sentra but with lumbar support so it sucks

I have this car and i can confirm that no one bothers the radio. I can do car appleplay and my system follows the last commands. For example: i use my bluetooth while driving and exiting car. When i arrive it will play my bluetooth automatically evertime. When i plug in car apple play and no music plays, the bluetooth/main source has full control until you play the audio. Sorry, i came here because i hae another road trip coming up with my car and i want some extra time for myself first.

@9:33 or so, that head is a slotted Torx. It allows for the benefit of a Torx, but if you don't have a Torx, you can always use a slotted instead. I have no complaints with that! :-) The last thing someone needs to encounter in the field is a problem that requires a tool they don't have, particularly when that tool's peculiarities were not essential for meeting the requirements of the original problem.

CAUTION to all viewers. If you are going to reseal a compartment to prevent future condensation, you MUST have air in the compartment with a dew point that is lower than the lowest temperature that compartment will experience. For most US residents, a sunny, hot July day that seems "dry" is probably a BAD day to seal a headlight! The moisture of the air is reported in many weather reports. On a typical hot, "dry" July day in the US anywhere but the Southwest, the dew point is probably at least in the 50s, and quite possibly in the 60s! So, even if you seal a headlight with "dry" air that has dew point in the 60s, than your headlight will get condensation when the temperature drops to the 60s! That is not good. So, wait for a day with really dry air. If you can't, try blasting canned, compressed air (keyboard cleaner air), and maybe it will displace the moist air from your headlight. Also, on a related note, it goes without further explanation that a waterproof seal (one that bars liquid water) is not a sufficient guarantee of preventing condensation. The seal must be VAPOR proof - air tight!

That dealership used to be called Liberty Auto City because they used to have Chrysler, Subaru, Mazda, Suzuki, and I think some more. I think they only carry two auto manufacturers because they weren't selling too many of the other brands. The Toyota Avilon was put out side with the interior still damp from being detailed. They should have cracked the windows so the interior could dry. Chrysler has good styling. However, those Pentistar 3.6 V-6's have many issues with coolant leaks and plastic coolant parts. Especially the oil cooler that is in the valley of the engine that always like to leak.

Theres a square plug that is under the left cowl that goes through the firewall and water leaks on the floor board from those when the factory silicon wears off, put silicone all around the top of the electrical plug thats under the cowl just to the left of the drain hole

His front floor will still keep getting wet people. The taping or silicone along the edge of the windshield is a WASTE of time. On the town cars like his you have two water drain holes, one behind the intake manifold and one under the far left area. His water leak on that front floor board was coming from a large electrical plug in the firewall underneath the cowl that you have to silicone all around it where the water drains down from the cowl It does no good to silicone the area he did at all because water is still going to go into the wiper arm shaft holes anyway, but that area drains out

This was not the factory PT woody from Chrysler but looks like an aftermarket kit. Was not all that horrible but could have been done a little better for sure.

Those digital figures cannot possibly be correct. Heres how to know if youre getting the best gas mileage on any vehicle. With the engine idling and if it runs smooth, quickly accelerate and visually look to see if you have black smoke coming out your tail pipe, and if there is no black smoke that comes out youre getting the best mileage your vehicle can ever get regardless of what those digits say inside the car

The gas tank is sitting behind the rear seat to allow for the large trunk. The gas tank is oriented in a vertical position. This explains the rear leg room.
