I bought my 2003 Town Car last year with 69k miles. The bottom of the car is as beautiful as the body. My wife hates this car and calls it an old man car, and ugly. I think she is jealous. 😂 My response to her is that nobody puts baby in the corner. I talk so much about it. Friends and family are sick of hearing about it. So I named my Lincoln Town Car, the Loveboat. Because I love it and it's a boat. I play the theme song to the show... Every time I drive her, she brings me a smile to my face.

Women are great, but I don’t let them pick my cars, lol. Big American luxobarges are the way to go! Ugly? Has she looked at anything made in the last decade? Almost everything made today is an eyesore. The Town Car is at least classy and elegant. It’s not as handsome as a lot of older luxury cars, but it’s way better than the blobby, “sporty” crap made today.

I finally met my match with you guys. I am also obsessed and convinced that the Lincoln Town Car is the very best vehicle to own and drive. Since getting my license many years ago, I always drove a full sized car, starting with an Oldsmobile. I had four Olds, one ‘98 Brougham, three Cutlass Supremes when they were full sized. Once they stopped making full sized cars, it was Lincoln all the way. I would take a Town Car over any fancy import. I’m currently driving (on occasion) a ‘92 and a ‘97, each with 51K and 33K respectively. I will cherish them for life!
PS: One important thing you may have missed on your Signature L , the rear doors open all the way out, which gives much more room to enter, just like a limousine or a car with suicide doors. Anyway, enjoy guys!!

I recently bought a 2006 Town Car in the top of the line Designer trim and I absolutely love the car. I bought it with 29,500 miles on it in November for $11,500 and the car is in like new condition. It was owned by an elderly couple since it was new. It’s an extremely reliable car and when I do need to fix something the parts are cheap like they mentioned in the video. If you can find a nice example I would recommend it to anyone looking for a car like this. The car I bought was $52,000 when new in 2006 which is equal to about $80,000 when accounting for inflation. These Town Cars are an amazing deal at the prices you can buy them for now. You can’t go wrong with one.

It had 97,000 on it when I bought it 11 years ago. When the engine or transmission finally does wear out, just replace it. They literally grow on trees. They are everywhere, and they are cheap.

The pride of my fleet of five vehicles is 2006 Presidential Edition (Signature Limited) with the factory sunroof, factory chrome Designer wheels, it’s finished in Light French Silk, a black canvas carriage roof, parchment interior. If they made the L with a factory sunroof then that is what I would have bought. The sunroof was a must have option for me, and the only L models with sunroofs were all aftermarket add ins - I won’t do aftermarket sunroof. You are correct that the 239 hp 4.6 is very understressed, and that is a big factor in its reliability and extremely long life expectancy.

I would actually suggest the Crown Vic or the Grand Marquis instead nowadays. Especially the 2003 to end of production versions. They had a Double DIN sized radio that is easy to swap out for a more modern infotainment system for relatively cheap. I've got a 2003 Crown Vic with that exact upgrade and it's honestly one of the best cars I've ever owned.
Note: you get pretty much everything you got in the Town Car, but the ease of swapping out the radio for an aftermarket one with the Crown Vics and Grand Marquis really bumps them up a notch, in my opinion.

I own a 2011 with pretty low miles on it but I love it - for all the reasons you guys mention. My wife's cousin has a 2011 too.. with over 665,000 miles, original motor! And the car still looks great, it's not even a beater. It used to be ex limi and was retired in 2023. Mine was one of the very last ones to roll off the assembly line and has around 48,000 miles. Love love love these.

My 2002 Town Car has been my daily driver since I bought it in 2007. In 2015, I had to replace the rear air ride suspension, which is a common problem in these cars. At around 100k miles, I had to get new ball joints, an idler arm, and a sway bar.
Other than that, it has been mostly trouble free. It's been very reliable and economical in the nearly 17 years that I have had the car.
I usually take at least one trip per year from Maryland to Florida and back, and it's a great car on the highway.

I have a 1997 TC Cartier with 180k miles. The second gen TCs with Cartier trim also had dual exhaust and if you added the trailer package there was also LCD. Off the line they make great torque which surprises people. Uses no oil, there are no rattles, and it is smooth as silk. It's incredible and I think it's insulting to Lincoln to compare it to a Mercedes.

I actually own a 1972 Lincoln Continental with the big 460 in it. 72 was the first year of the low compression smog era 460, so I have modified mine with different heads, cam, intake and a 750cfm Holley. Oh and dual exhaust. So mine makes a lot more power than it left the factory with. It’s an awesome car to cruise in. Big, smooth, soft ride, soft leather seats, decent power. What’s not to like? Other than terrible mileage of course. lol.

This car is the last in the line of big smooth luxury cruisers that started in the 50's until recently. Smooth, with lots of torque and engine sound tuned to be almost imperceptible. The interior is plush with comfy chairs and a back seat like a couch. The ride was floaty and absorbed bumps so that comfort was most important.
The engine and drivetrain are like tanks because they are so under stressed. IIRC, the modular 4.6L was used in everything from Lincoln Town Cars to Mustangs. The Mustangs were tuned for speed and performance whereas The Town Car was smooth long cruises.

The government through EPA and CAFE and other government agencies are constantly changing the standards and specifications vehicles have to meet and in the case of Ford's panther platform vehicles it came to a point where the cars as designed could NEVER meet those standards so Ford ended production..
It's actually worse now than it's ever been and standards are being imposed for internal combustion engines by EPA and CAFE with the INTENT of removing them from the planet.

One of my favorites is my 2004 Signature bought 5 years ago from a lady that quit driving due to older age. I didn't beat her up on price - I paid every cent of the $3200 asking price. It was ready to go anywhere but I did the entire suspension, all control arms, bushings, shocks/struts and now she's ready for 20 more years' use. Clean. garaged and ready for a cross country trip. She sits in the garage next to my 2004 Marauder. The Panther platform is durable and indestructible. Governmental regulations killed it.

I owned a 2011 "L" model, Black on Black, slightly larger than a regular one. More like a Limo, with more features in the back seat, and loads of leg room. The engines and transmissions these cars had are indestructible. One of the major shortcomings, was when Ford used a Plastic Manifold, which was prone to leak or crack. Mine leaked but I put sealant juice in it, and took care of the problem. Additionally, these are basically Crown Vics with Lincoln body panels, nothing too bad about that since the Crown Vic was an amazing car as well. Funny that when new, people paid big money for basically a Ford.

I suggest looking for one now. I am 64, and have a 2006 Grand Marquis with 384,000 miles. I noticed that nice ones are getting harder and harder to find. Most people consider them worthless and trash them. A few months ago I found a like new one owner 2007 with 36,000 miles for sale by an older couple, and I bought it on the spot. I didn't want to take a chance I might not be able to find another one when/if that time ever comes. I have already driven it on a few long highway trips. I use the 2006 as a local transportation car. It has door dings all the way up and down both sides.

I sold it and bought the first year of the Ford expedition, 4 x 4, Eddie Bauer edition, which I love for two years, and then hated it for the next three years!
