When you model in Blender the 'Highlighted Points' in the X-Y-Z axis is your front side, the "Outlined Points" are the opposite, meaning your back side. In your course I wasn't sure if you knew that as you work on the "Minus" Axis for most the course (or at least the earlier chapters). Otherwise, the course is FANTASTIC! Thank you for making an affordable and effective learning journey!
@@CyborKat Hi, thanks for your interest in my course 😁 The direction of the view labels when using the views shortcut key is indicative of which side of the object you are looking at, not the world orientation. Front, back, side etc. As noted in the course I use the view shortcuts primarily for orientation.
Could you make a video (or add to course) that covers how to make a low poly version and a high poly version of your character/model to be used in game development?
Have watched so many tutorials on the best approach to character modelling - all have either been too long with too many approaches cover to the point it becomes confusing - or too brief. This is the best I’ve seen - thanks for this! Really nice presented and well paced
This is really cool! I love how stylized and cartoony the character is, plus the dynamic lighting. Feels like a vinyl toy you'd want to collect! I also really appreciated seeing your working process!
I don't know whether you will see this or not, but if you keep this consistency of quality and relevance of content, I can guarantee you you will be in millions in not time.
Funny thing is that i use Blender almost since 4 years, and i even teach it in class... but is amazing how one can still learn new things down the road. Your art is amazing and your technique too. Bought your course straight away 😍😍😍
Amazing tutorial. The art stands on its own too, excellent job. I'm fairly proficient with Blender but this is motivating me to work on my art skills, so thank you!!
My man, we need people like you to help us, who are just starting with 3D modeling and art, and are in desperate need for online tutorials and people who KNOW how to guide us novices! 🙏🏻🧡 Bless you, this is really, really appreciated and helpful for even us beginners. Keep up the great work, you've earned my sub! 🤘🏻
It is so amazing your work! it becaus of you that I was able to use Blender. Thank you for the way that you explain! You are the best! Sending love from Costa Rica :)
Tried to study this video as much as possible for my detailed character and it was very helpful but didn't stop me from making mistakes in the workflow. Now I'm being very warry of the performance issue that might come with super detailed models. Quad remesher is great but don't work on details before using it or you will have some regrets 😂 I'm really cautious about thinking everything in advance now... Still figuring out the best workflow. And I'm just starting to wonder about rigging. Hope I didn't make mistakes in the process that would make it difficult to handle for my computer 💀 But anyway, thanks a lot for all those videos. You got me hooked to 3D sculpting, I never thought I could do this and it's thanks to you and your first tutorial honestly !
Gosh, thank you very much, this is very useful and easy to understand for beginners, I already somewhat understand how to process in blender, thank you so much ❤
Hey Keelan! I just uploaded my first character design, your tutorials gave me the confidence to try sculpting in blender, I really hope I can continue learning from your wonderful channel... in fact if I can make a suggestion, I would love to know how I can optimize these characters to put them in a videogames or projects that requiere the less polygons as posible without losing resolution. a big hug and thank you very much for everything. 🙌 Keep being awesome!
Soooo coooool!!!! 🤩👍 I'm just about to start with blender, looks like there is a lot to learn but I love the way how much you can create with it. Keep up the good work~
Waited for a video like this for a while! I am struggling with making bodies and this video might help me! But can you make a new series of creating a full character? Thanks.
I think I might follow along because I need to get back into sculpting and I have a really cool idea for a stylized female character who's been stuck in my head since I watched The Monkey King on Netflix
This might be a dumb question, but how do you merge the shapes you blocked out so you can sculpt and rig them. Addtionally, which parts of a character should be seperate objects?
Crazy tutorial. Can you quickly explain your method to join all these "cube001, cube002," together ? Do you then clean the inside of your caracter or not ? Im a beginner , thank you !
Hi, I liked the figure, but I would appreciate it if you could make a tutorial video with a little more detail on how to do everything like the textures shapes and it all looks really complicated for those who are not that advanced in Blender😁

Really cool video, I just started my channel and like seeing other channels do well in this space. Keep grinding and thanks for the content.

@@KeelanJon Aaah, that makes sense! I never looked at it that way. 🙀
The mark of a true expert is that you make this look easy - but there are lots of helpful tips in here that I will be using.
Your videos are the reason I finally managed to sculpt my first basic character design :) I am glad I came across your channel
I'm happy to hear that! 😁🤘
OMG I WAS STRUGGLING SO MUCH WITH MAKING A CHARACTER THIS VIDEO WILL BE SOOOO HELPFUL
Hope it helps 😁
@@KeelanJongreat tutorial 🤗 by the way how long it took you to finish the whole character from start to finish? Thanks 😊
OK THATS OK!
Did it help?

Thank you! Cheers!
This is such an amazingly slick video! so professional, clean and cool!!!
Amazing job. Is it possible to see the nodes you used for the eyes' shader in more details? Very curious about it.
Amazing AMAZING TECHNIQUES. Definitely earned a sub. I’m learning character modeling for the first time so wish me luck
Looking forward to this ❤
Great looking video Keelan, a refreshing change from the typical headshot overlaid into a screen recording. Much more engaging this way.
Your editing has got much better! 😄

Gosh, thank you very much, this is very useful and easy to understand for beginners, I already somewhat understand how to process in blender, thank you so much ❤
So helpful. Im making the block out right now and its starting to look like an actual person
After you block out, how did you "merged" the shapes so it looks like one solid body instead of separate shapes?
Ctrl + J to join the objects, then you go on sculpt mode and you smooth the transition areas
@@erikac.983 how do you smooth the areas? im having problems doing that
@@neon2697late but you need to remesh, then using any brush you can hold shift and click to smooth!
Dang, this video is so well produced
Compliments of the season. I want to thank you for your video. It is what i just needed
WOW! Just wow!
