What I learned from running my own smma for 1 year

- Maybe this makes me a "guru" but I just can't give away everything I know for free, I'm sorry. I want to help people, but trying to help everybody requires a lot more time, effort, and energy than I initially thought. And doing everything for free just took time away from me running my own agency and I wasn't really able to help people because I was just giving 1 sentence answers to very complex and complicated questions.
So, I created The Mogul thinking that it would be better to FULLY help 1 person, than to partially help 100 people. Everything, all in one place to help someone succeed to the best of my ability while getting paid for my work. I'm pretty confident I can bring anyone success as long as they are willing to put in the effort on their end. If you watched my free videos on TH-cam, imagine the value I would give you if I was actually getting paid.

1. Stop caring about the growth. Your experience will compound and multiply itself over time if you are diligent.
2. Exposure therapy is the best way to learn sales.
3. Sometimes the money can come faster than you expect and before you're ready to manage it. Don't be afraid of the money.
4. The work hours and client problems can be overwhelming. Sometimes everything will go wrong at once.
5. It's OK to lose a client or respond late, or if everything goes wrong at once. Your future opportunities are compounding as well as your experience.
6. You have to go all in and commit to the process.
Life advice compacted in just one comment ❤
You should comment on all my videos 😅

Hi Thomas, thank you! I am 28/29 years old this year, I got myself a change of life by being a Data Engineer but I am really good with soft skills but never got the energy to build my own product (besides the first one I worked ever, which was a good one but I left to have a chance out of poverty :) );
Right now I am building two products: One for real state (subject I am passionate about and I am learning Rust meanwhile) and another one for Clinics and what you said resonate with me a lot, I am having to learn backend all over again and it is a really humbling experience because the main thing is: Am I coding today? Some days I fail at it, but it is really nice to see how much I have learned and how much I have coded in the past 6 months, of course, way slower than the progress I make in my 9-to-5 job but still progress!
As you said, everything you stick with becomes progress, last year was the year fitness entered my life and I changed from 22,3% B.F. (Body Fat) to 11,8% ! So I believe I can make the same regarding my own personal projects too xD';
All in all, I just want to say that your contribution by talking about your experience is really helpful! Keep at it!
Keep the good work!
You know any free resources to learn Data engineering?
The imposter syndrome is so real. Keep going and when you get negative thoughts don't let them stop you, it's normal but keep moving forward!! Your Upwork journey is inspiring and I'm taking notes, I'm not offering the same service as you but these videos have been so helpful to me regardless.
Your journey has been so inspiring. Thank you for sharing it so openly and in a straight forward manner.
Thanks for sharing your story Thomas. Love the raw unfiltered format, feels like just chatting with a friend.
Compound interest is extremely interesting. I never really thought of that before. It's incredibly true and its a very very simple thing to understand. I think a better analogy that alot of people could relate with is video games. Think about a video game that you played over time and your character got better and stronger over time from just the time you put into it. Very strong example of compound interest if you understand the analogy. The video game analogy is so perfect because you can visually see the changes in your characters power as you get stronger with more stats or items that you aquired over time. You can think of stats and items as skills or knowledge in whatever it is your pursuing. The only thing is the analogy of video games is just like RL you could be buying wrong items for your character or selecting bad stats and ruin your character (IE Learning wrong skills or habits or even worst putting your time into a deadend.) There is just so many ways to look at it. Kinda crazy to think about haha : P
Thanks for the insights, Thomas.
This was really needed as I have done some outreach, and
this is not going to work for me, but now, as you said, you need to keep reaching out and keep going on sales calls.
I shall stick it no matter what.
And to all the people watching the video and reading the comments, just keep going. I shall keep you guys updated on how I am doing😎
See you at the top
Man this video is really relatable! Love your content dude. You’re inspiring
your journey is very inspiring and the anecdote about the black cup makes complete sense. Thank you for making the content you make
I like your video format ! Simple and efficient
Found your channel a week ago and love the content. I like doing digital designs and thumbnails. With no experience, should I just go for it when I see a entry level job. The only thing holding me back is fear of not being liked or the client getting angry. I know 100% of the clients won’t always be satisfied. Keep up the good work!
Top Job chap 🤘 I really like the Black Cup analogy, I'm going to use that for my own personal growth.
You look so happy :) I love this for youuu!
Whenever I feel overwhelmed or if I got way too ahead of myself that’s when I start to shut down and have a panic attack. I know a lot of people suffer from them but for me it happens when it comes to anything related to jobs/careers/school etc.. I’ve been thinking about doing smma for about 2 years now but what was preventing me was that I didn’t think businesses would find me reliable since I have a degree in education. I think I might start working locally in my town and for free at the beginning and if they like the work I do they can pay me for it monthly. I also think it would be cool if we started a discord community.
YOUR SINCERITY IS SO EXCEPTIONAL. SUCH CANDOR. PANIC WHEN THE MONEY SEEMS TO COME BEYOND YOUR WILDEST EXPECTATIONS.
the overwhelming part I totally relate, and sadly, every time I started new things this always happens.
I think take a break from overwhelmed is good, some people need more time to digest new situation, plus, in this case you do have the time so take the chance. I'm always take a break from doing something new and when I finally ok, everything going smooth. Later if I need a break, probably just for vacation, not for the overwhelming part anymore. Good luck everyone
That analogy makes sense to me. If you quit, eventually, water will evaporate having no water, just as easy that skill can be gain overtime you can lose them and start all over again.
You have special gift, don't think you don't have any skill. The one true thing you have is CLARITY on what you want to do.
You would be surprised to see how many people in the world lack this.
Mine has been open for 4 years now. Slowly growing with over 20 clients. Doesn’t seem like much but when prices range $90-$1,000/mo per client. Don’t need that many to make what I need. Always my fall back outside of my degree 🎉
❤❤
Thanks boss for the insights.
I experienced the stress of making money! It is real and I learnt so much from it x
"I thought i was doing something illegal" that was hilarious, bro is literrally us
I can relate to being fearful of the success, its crazy but its very real if you’ve not made lots of money before and all of a sudden BOOM its there in your face.
Congrats!
Hey Thomas. Just a quick tip, you should always compress your audio before uploading your video. Compression will make it louder, clearer, and well balanced
cheers.
Will look into that
Love it ❤
Hey thomas! Ive been watching your content for some days now and they're super helpful.
I've gained some trust in you to ask this question because of your raw and original content
I'm from India. When it comes to sales calls, i feel very nervous with foreign clients because i feel.like we i have different perspectives and mindset from the client
How to overcome this?
Get on 100 sales calls, you won't get nervous anymore
you should do a video sort of series where you start from 0 and do a road to your first client kind of thing. Like vlog / document every step you take in real time to get to that first client.
I actually saw a platform called contra, was thinking of starting from scratch and documenting it
I saw contra too and someone suggested I get on it
How were you able to track the hours that you worked for the projects if you were outsourcing to get the projects/assignments done?
hello bro . this was very useful cz am actually in the same line
RESPECT.
This feels like montell told you to start personal branding
🔥 video tho
Love your grit.
Do you mean grift?
🚀
I know nothing about SMMA. What TH-cam videos do you recommend watching for a beginner.
There's tons! Honestly, the last time I actually sat down and researched smma was a year ago so it might be outdated.
Is there a niche you work in or do you handle all niches for smm
All niches
Hi Thomas, i heard that you are going to release a course, is that true ? Could you tell me something about your course?
It's out!

What’s ur tips about growing on upwork
How much time you got?
@@ThomasIm eh like a couple hours a day
You won’t do it, follow your journey. Stop following his journey
Thomas where did you learn about SMMA?
I've probably looked at every resource online imaginable
Be very afraid, give it to me 😂🖖
Not a chance 😁
Video Editing is too low 👎👎👎👎
Edit the video in a good style.
Add nice b-roll animation when you are speaking or explaining something. This will increase visualization.
Put proper subtitles, effects, transitions, and colors in the video.
Insert the B-Roll (footage and animation) very well because it is absolutely low in your video.
Do all this and then see how the video doesn't turn out good. 🌶️
I love what you do to make money via upwork SMMA although I think you need to have a little investment fun with your cash. Make the juice worth squeeze, start investing in your health buy biohacking devices and healthy food or something. Best of luck to you.
Do you have a link to your discord?

Great content bro, real value. I would love if you would also share about your sales channels other than Upwork which helped you get to $10k/mo.
Love.
It's all upwork

I really like how natural and unedited his videos are, they don't need to be flashy if they present good information
