- Maybe this makes me a "guru" but I just can't give away everything I know for free, I'm sorry. I want to help people, but trying to help everybody requires a lot more time, effort, and energy than I initially thought. And doing everything for free just took time away from me running my own agency and I wasn't really able to help people because I was just giving 1 sentence answers to very complex and complicated questions.
So, I created The Mogul thinking that it would be better to FULLY help 1 person, than to partially help 100 people. Everything, all in one place to help someone succeed to the best of my ability while getting paid for my work. I'm pretty confident I can bring anyone success as long as they are willing to put in the effort on their end. If you watched my free videos on TH-cam, imagine the value I would give you if I was actually getting paid.

Your videos are great... I tried to do work prior to applying for the job but it takes time and you advice that we should send a proposal to jobs that have under 15 proposals.. But until I finish the work.. The job applicants become too much making it harder to stand out 😢

Love your videos man, recently started UpWork after a few months trying to get clients for my SMMA through paid ads and content. Decided that UpWork seems like a good way to get clients since there’re already warmed up and are looking for the services I offer. (Already sent out 6 proposals but have yet to see any results, probably need to be more patient and do more reps on outreach)
I would appreciate it if you could make a video on what you do to optimise your profile, going to apply whatever I got from this video ASAP. Thank you in advance 👍

6 is no where near enough proposals. Keep sending! But make sure you aren't just sending blindly
To optimize, I would say spend a lot of time looking at other top freelancers in your niche

depends on the job
Giving any work for free on upwork is a violation of upwork policy.
Asking for free work as a client is against the rules, but a freelancer can choose to provide free work
But either way, I don't advocate people to do free work
A really good video on writing proposals. The only thing is, I would be very careful about doing free work. Somebody who is looking for free samples is unlikely to hire anyone. If he gets 6 free samples from, let's say, 10 people, he has 60 working samples to implement in his campaign. He is not going to hire.

Lying about reading books just to get a view as well as doing free work is a race to the bottom… it’s a disservice to marketers abroad.l and is why we are called liars and hated more than used car salesmen. Your portfolios should speak volumes for your work even if the portfolio work is on a mock client. “These are the signs of the next untrusted guru.”
