You definitely saved a lot of money bro fixing the Toyota Corolla there is a person on Facebook market please just selling a 2000 Toyota Corolla and need cars are making knocking noises too they want to thousand dollars for that car
My dad's Corolla is making a rattle sound when idling and when I turn the wheel right or left it subsides. Looks like It's time to change the belt and tensioner
I think i have the same noise. It's rattling. But im not sure if that's it. I have an 02 Corolla. Do you know how to diagnose where it is coming from? Thank you very much!
The signs ans symptoms on my car are identical to the one in this video, however when I look at the tensioner it doesn't appear to be dirty like yours. Is this a emergency fix?
On a 9th gen. try more like 6 hrs, $100 and bloody hands from scraping bolt heads. Oh, and the engine has to be jacked up to take out the tensioner's 17mm.
Damn, I just changed the pulley last night and the noise is still there. So now I know it's gotta be the shock absorber. But you can't just buy the shock absorber gotta buy the whole assembly.
Hopefully this is the fix for a 2000 toyota corolla ce that's been sitting 10 yrs. Just rebuilt fuel pump assembly with new pump and sending unit, new tires, new chain tensioner, oil change and air filter, but it's still loud. I'm thinking tensioner, ac comp, or a pulley, or all lol

I'm sure you have fixed it by now, but if not, try tightening the bolt on the power steering pump pulley
Im watching your vid and you’re fucking awesome Thankyou

What a pain lol
Helped me out a lot thanks for the heads up
Damn neat car, the engine bay is immaculate!
Yup. Not bad for 200k miles
I just got one similar to this. Equally as immaculate with 50k original miles. 1 owner garaged its whole life. 😁😁😁😁

Vvti gets suck and makes a noise like that
Took me way too long to put the one I did! Lol
But you did it. Thats all that matters

The tensioner is quick and easy. Give it a shot if it is “clacking”
Did you have to lift the engine at all to get the bottom bolt out of the tensioner? Mine looks like it will run into the car frame.
No sir, it was close but it came out
@@slightlymodified501 Thanks. I just ordered the part and will attempt to replace it on Friday or Saturday. I appreciate you posting this video.
