Also don't forget their eagerness to show everything off about a game that won't be out in at least the next five years. Like five is also being generous
I’m Catholic but Ultrakill is still my favorite video game. I would deem the lore blasphemous, but I always just remember that the actual God and angels would never do what they do in the game. It’s just fiction at the end of the day, and I keep that in mind when playing.
They’re not really blasphemous since Ultrakill’s God isn’t supposed to be the Biblical God. Besides that, the crosses in Ultrakill also do not represent Christ but rather the concept of the Tree of Life.
Thanks, that means a lot to me :) Although I'm really happy with how the video is performing. Making 7,000 people laugh is an honor. I remember back when the only people who watched my videos were my closest friends :P

I think metaphors can be super powerful if done right, like Narnia or Lord of The Rings. With games it's a little trickier though. I don't think a violent game has ever made me violent IRL, but I have no way of really knowing. I think games like Doom are really inspiring though. Sometimes it does feel like I'm fighting off hordes of demons, and having imagery of Doomguy being totally badass while ripping apart evil spirits makes me think "Yeah, what I'm doing is totally badass" even if what I'm doing is just turning the other cheek or something. It's hard to tell exactly what effect violent media has on us, but I think if we consume it with a certain level of self-awareness, always keeping in mind what true morality looks like, we can use it to aid us in our spiritual journeys rather than hold us back.
@@HeyGrouch I still like fiction, But the main reason I don't appreciate fiction as much anymore is its easy to get carried away by it, and at the end of the day its teaching you things that are fake. as far as using violent media to aid us in our spiritual journeys, this is probably a bad idea. Have you ever found yourself thinking of doing violent things to people (whether real or hypothetical?) This is probably a product of our culture. This last point isn't as biblically grounded, but I've always been annoyed with media that plagiarizes the bible. This usually leads to people building up stereotypes about what the bible says, and not reading the bible. I'm sure everyone is guilty of this including me. If you ever have questions the elders at your church are a great source of wisdom. I'm always amazed when I ask them anything.
"Teaching us things that are fake" is an interesting phrase. I think something can be TRUE without being REAL, you know? The Force isn't real, but when Yoda says "Fear is the path to the Dark Side" it's still true, metaphorically. Jesus himself uses fiction to teach. The Good Samaritan wasn't an actual Samaritan he knew, it was just a story he told to illustrate forgiveness and charity. (At least as far as I know. That's what most theologians think.) The violence point you made might be true, but people have been REALLY violent long before any kind of media existed depicting violence. But like you said, it's hard to tell what effect culture has on us. As for people misconstruing the Bible, I agree. Although historically I think the Church is WAY more guilty of that than the media.
@@HeyGrouch I'm glad you agree. Things can be correct without being real. I'll only say be careful, where your treasure is your heart will be also. As for misconstruing the Bible, yeah. I respect not being bothered to animate the mouth. It honestly makes it more funny and give the speaker a “lifeless corporate” vibe
Glad you think so :P I was initially planning on doing lip syncing, but I figured it didn't really affect the comedy at all
The lack of speaking is also a metaphor for love
"The entire game is actually a metaphor for love" accurate just come back to me in 7 years or something.
The nail crossbow 😂 reminds me of that old guy that died on a cross for our sins 😌 praise be to jerma
You see it's a metaphor for uhmm uhh hmmm cool gun shooting bad guys
The real bad guys were the friends we made along the way.
..wait
Rusty nail for tetnus, huntsman for huge projectile hitbox, op fps shotgun, and unnessisary stilts. its beautiful
Let's see the Romans try to stop us now
and it does CSGO AWP damage, it will truly be unstoppable.
It's a sawn-off bolt-action sniper rifle (an AWP), not a shotgun
you nailed the ending
🤔
Average ultrakill update
Naail crossbow sounds like a tf2 weapon
could be a cool single-fire shotty sidegrade
Looks like one too!!!
naail
Almost the Crusader's Crossbow.
You also forgot the part where the colors clash so badly it’s hard to see and the game has a progression metal soundtrack
Oh god, I totally forgot the prog metal. You're right, that's essential to the FPS experience
It’s like a metaphor
bro this is way too well done to not be real, literally ever boomer/movement shooter ever
if a developer actually went on stage and pulled this i might be interested
Bet.
GUYS ITS RELEASING IN 2013 TRUST ME I SAW A LEAK
Nice aa (anti-aliasing) on the bone software logo, its a nice touch.
thanks geki! i was originally gonna have a pixelated effect on all the TV images, but the later ones were just too beautiful to pixelate
nah you forgot them talking about it being inspired by "the classic boomer shooters of the 90s" (doom and nothing else)
lol. and having like 12 different weapon slots you have to cycle between when only like 2 are actually useful
And maybe Quake. But not much else.
Also don't forget their eagerness to show everything off about a game that won't be out in at least the next five years. Like five is also being generous
Oh very true. And heavily pushing a $100 pre-order "collector's edition" that adds 2 skins and makes the box art yellow
most innovative throwback shooter:
i would buy a game w/ this title 38 times over. it just sounds good to say
Yes liked, straight into my animation collection.
Awesome video gorth!
thanks gunther
Poor guy will get kulled by V1.
I’m religious, and this is me talking myself up to playing Ultrakill. Then something like that ending happens and I get too uncomfortable and drop it.
I've only played the demo so I don't know about the ending. Do I wanna know? Lol
@@HeyGrouch the lore and “testaments” just seem a little … blasphemous? It’s weird because games like Doom or DMC don’t bother me.
Lol. Probably a secular developer then :P Might as well be any other narrative from his perspective, like Greek Gods or something

This has me rolling
Literally Hotline Miami being a metaphor for letting it go.
i would actually love a game like this
would love to see you on the servers then! :)
“You may see some subtle religious iconography” 💀
EVERY fps designer? I guess I have not been playing fps games then
If you're not shooting demons with dual wielded shotguns, is it REALLY an fps game anyways?
@@HeyGrouchfacts actually
@@HeyGrouch actually based as fuck
im glad boomershooters are a trend now, but we need to bring back arena shooters
Interesting.
GOD CANT STOP ME 🗣🗣🗣🗣 RAAAAAAAWWWWRRRR 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Based Department is calling you better pick up
Id play Blood Rapture Deluxe: Return of the Gigaf_ck Deathgod based on the title alone
I'd unironically name a game that lol
why is it called thunder jumper now??? The video showed a completely other game
awesome
So underrated.
Thanks, that means a lot to me :) Although I'm really happy with how the video is performing. Making 7,000 people laugh is an honor. I remember back when the only people who watched my videos were my closest friends :P
Make this a game on god
Honestly I've thought about making a parody FPS that just takes all the classic FPS tropes and dials them up to 11. Could be a fun challenge
Too real
Based designer
Base designer? Like Fortnite! 😄
very accurate
Dawnwalker
They fight for peace!
We can be bone brother 😅
Phew, good thing chapter four was not canon and it doesn’t have any actual meaning to Blood Rapture series.

Nah, just Eevee with a ton of light diffusion
