Yup! It would be tempting in this lady's position to let your emotions get the best of you and try to pull your firearm on these guys... which would have most likely ended badly for everyone involved.
What I learn from this channel : 1. Attitude is good to have, but it's not enough. (You need to know how do defend yourself) 2. Don't draw on a drawn gun. (Wait for your turn) 3. I can only imagine the constant state of panic you would be in if you ever visited South America. 😂
Shes fine, she is very grateful she got this as a lesson learned, didn't get a scratch, AND got it on video. She was new to concealed carry at the time of this video. She now has a ton of training & knowledge.
IS there anything she could have done with more training? Personally, I dont think so. Guy was in knife range the entire encounter, regardless of training if she had tried something I doubt she would have escaped unharmed...
Three armed assailants makes for very tough odds. Great call on trying to prevent the gun from being discovered, which would have likely forced a gunfight at an extreme disadvantage.
This is a very good video. A big mistake I see newbies make is that they think having a gun means they must use it. A gun is never a convenient option, I'm glad this woman understood this. She didn't risk her life or the life of her coworker.
She was incredibly smart and composed. Probably smarter than I would be without seeing this first-hand. Very good lesson and a great pick for the channel.

I'm glad she didn't try to play hero & remained calm because ir could have cost her and her friend their lives... That money is insured! Even if it ain't her life is worth more!!
MrJadah Jjames yeah, sometimes pulling the gun is a selfish act. You have to be able to think about the people you're with. My kids are with me everywhere. I always have to think about that. My gun is the LAST resort. My first is to comply or get my family/ friends the fuck out!
Wow!! That was intense! I kept waiting for the draw, but she clearly did not have the right time/opportunity to do so. Smart woman, smart keeping that gun concealed. Thanks again for all of your hard work and effort John!
cccssscccsss2 She did a great job in the circumstances, but I am almost wondering if sometimes it might be better to alert them to the fact you are armed and let them take it. The problem with her actions is that she made it very obvious she was trying to hide something. They might have thought she was going for her gun if she kept grabbing at the shirt and escalated the situation worse. I think I would prefer to get down on my stomach, lock my fingers behind my head, and tell them I wanna help them I don't want any trouble but I have a gun in my waistband you can have it please don't hurt me. Only in a situation like this where the guys are super on edge and aggressive and they essentially have her outnumbered 3 to 1. She can't ever use her gun without sacrificing her coworker. This woman has definitely received some great training! Taking her core ability to maintain patience and composure during a situation like this and with the training she has received to know that sometimes you just have to comply and not draw back is such a great thing to see. That's something I have learned more from this channel is to know when to fight back and when not to.
She did extremely well hanging onto her weapon. Even having the weapon, with 3 armed guys there, she never really had a chance to draw, but if at some point they decided to harm either of the employees, atleast she had a fighting chance to make them rethink their actions.
Had she drawn, she would be dead. They controlled her 100% of the time, you can't draw and not take a shot or serious stab wounds against that, she did a hell of a job being patient. God knows what they would have done if they SAW her weapon too! Very difficult situation to be put in....
It all came full circle today with my self trainer, when he decided to show this video. You were the entire reason I started these classes and to see my instructor pull you up just felt good.
The obvious lesson here is that carrying a gun isn't going to help you if you are oblivious to your surroundings, especially when you're locking up the store. Dumb! But after that really stupid omission, the ladies did well to cover their asp. They need to learn the awareness color codes and practice them. Great analysis, as usual. Love this channel and share it will everyone I know.
@eQuariuz Wouldn't have worked out well if she did that. She drops the guy with the knife, now she's locked in a store with 2 other armed robbers who are now likely willing to use deadly force
I do believe that because she maintained her focus on keeping her gun concealed it allowed her to keep the cool head throughout. She didn't appear to be too emotionally overwhelmed during the ordeal. I think she did it right.
My heart was beating through that video. The fear that was in the store was relayed somehow through watching that. So happy she didn't react poorly. They meant business.
Bless her, she was smart enough to know when to fight or not. Many people would of gotten themselves killed. Well done young lady. Cool, calm and collected under pressure!!!
I like to see that. I had a conversation with a friend that is the manager of a restaurant I go to all the time. I assured him I would never take a shot in the restaurant unless someone’s life was in immediate danger. He understood that I would let the man take my wallet instead of starting a gun fight where innocent people were simply having dinner with their love ones. I felt like I put him at ease because he knows I always carry. Keep up the great work, thank you.
This guy makes videos that say compliance is the best option then shows multiple videos where compliance only got the victim killed. damned if you do and damned of you don't.
Every situation is different. I get that. Most of the encounters your body probably goes into a fight or flight state, hopefully the choice you make at that time is the right one.
You analyze the situation that you are in. John does an excellent job of pointing out what you should be thinking about or looking for if you are in a situation. Sometimes you will zig when you should have zagged. No guarantee you will make it even if you do everything right. That's why he talks about spiritual fitness. Nobody gets out of this life alive.
9/10 times you are better off just complying, especially in North America and Europe. South America is different I would say they are more willing to kill the witnesses. You don't want to fight unless you think someone is about to die.
I used to work for dollar General for a few years. from a customer perspective, it's great. I still recommend it. from an employee perspective, it's awful. they pay garbage, overwork you, awful atmosphere and clientele, and they get robbed ALL OF THE TIME. yet they do nothing about it. that shit is not worth constantly putting your life at risk for a company that gives two shits if you die or not under their employ.
The Red hair girl was in on it.. her behavior at the door is suspect.... as she opens the door, she is looking to her right as if she knows they are there. Then she moves left, knowing to step out of the way.. She is too calm. The guy with the knife was all an act for the cameras. I have questions for sure.
Short of the chick with the gun doing a combat roll out the door pistol drawn and covering the other girl locking the door there is no feasible plan against three armed assailants.
the CCW was looking in the direction of the armed men. there's nothing at that point she could have done. if you were the CCW i bet you and the person would be dead.
nathansdad04 LOL no. They are cashiers. They need to chill and take it easy because 99/100 times they just want your money, not to kill you. The risk is not worth the added stress thinking you are going to be robbed every night. If 3 guys come out of nowhere it doesn't matter how vigilant you are, they own you. Comply until you think you are going to die and you have no other choice.
This here is a fantastic episode. So many of these show the fight; but as you pointed out, sometimes it's smarter not to fight. I didn't see any point in this video that would have been a smart time for her to engage. She did the right thing. It is not cowardice to wait for an opportunity, or to realize that one isn't coming, and to simply comply.
She did a good job. even if she had the opportunity to draw it's probably better that she didn't. The bad guys had multiple guns and there was also a potential hostage situation since her co-worker was in the store. I think she did the right thing here.
If you are not aware of the situation in the first place, you'll never be able to react. She did an excellent job in not reacting at all. Closing time is the time to be on high alert. Armed but not being proactively aware is useless ultimately.
John is a gem for his self awareness, humbleness and unique ability to highlight both benefits and dangers of firearms while never making it political. He’s a great spokesman for responsible gun owners
three attackers at just the right moment, keeping both ladies controlled at all times. This was very well planned. She kept trying to get herself into a situation where she could turn the tables on them but she just was not able to do it. She did a great job of reading the situation.
I'm well trained with a few trips to combat behind me and there just simply was no opportunity other than chasing and shooting at them as they ran out.
wow, that would've been so tough to keep your head on straight. Impressed that she stuck to the only option she had at that time, anything else would've got her, her coworker or both injured or killed. Great job keeping them from seeing she was armed..
I think this is one of the most important videos on this channel. The defenders did the best they could, however initial lack of attention is what put them in this situation.
This shows even when carrying it isn't always avisable to use a weapon. She did the right thing and her and her coworker didn't get hurt. She showed a lot of self restraint and was smart keeping her gun hidden.

the CCW was looking in the direction of the armed men. there's nothing at that point she could have done. if you were the CCW i bet you and the person would be dead.
nathansdad04 LOL no.
She handled this situation brilliantly.
I'll give her w/ the gun praise for keeping her cool. I wouldn't have been so patient.
Man, I was wanting that young lady to burn them bastards, but she just couldn't do it. I applaud her for remaining so calm.
It's amazing how calm the girl with the gun stayed. And then to restrain herself from shooting at them as they were leaving.
Both ladies are alive thank god way to stay cool
What a powerful woman. Nobody got hurt and in the end that's the goal.
This CCW lady had incredible patients, what a brave soul!
She a doctor?
If you are not aware of the situation in the first place, you'll never be able to react. She did an excellent job in not reacting at all.
Closing time is the time to be on high alert.
Armed but not being proactively aware is useless ultimately.
She was fearless
John is a gem for his self awareness, humbleness and unique ability to highlight both benefits and dangers of firearms while never making it political. He’s a great spokesman for responsible gun owners
three attackers at just the right moment, keeping both ladies controlled at all times. This was very well planned. She kept trying to get herself into a situation where she could turn the tables on them but she just was not able to do it. She did a great job of reading the situation.
giving analysis on such these videos is far easier than facing real situation.
exactly, she was perfect, probably a well trained guy could find a moment to react but it was quite risky so she reacted very well, well done
I'm well trained with a few trips to combat behind me and there just simply was no opportunity other than chasing and shooting at them as they ran out.
Next Level Patience!
Hats off to her, she most definitely covered her ASP!!!!
I'm always reading a comment when the actions goes down. Constantly having to rewind.
This is the nightmare scenario right here. Multiple armed perps that get the drop on you. The employee handled that near-hopeless situation very well.
Very smart lady. Proud of her.
Wow that female was pretty brave she handled herself well and had control over the situation..she probably saved her coworkers life too..
She Did great here plain and simple.
Just as important as action, restraint is.
wow, that would've been so tough to keep your head on straight.
This lady kept cool the whole time what a champ. she was def waiting for the window.
Good job for both of these ladies for being composed
