This is exactly what i was thinking. He had an open carry but some people get a concealed carry permit with the forth sight of “i just pray someone tries to attack me.” People be careful, there are a lot of people out there who want to bait you. I had a car that has no air conditioning so i have to drive with the window down. There is this trend where guys with diesel engines in their pic-up truck like to load up their carburetor when they are right beside you and the blow that black smoke into your window. They do it on purpose. I have saw guys do this to random people walking down the side walk. The truck driver will just stop right next to them and gas it to blow that thick black smoke into the pedestrian’s face and then drive off. So one particular day this guy did this to me and it pissed me off so i got beside him to yell at him…he pulls a gun and says “are you threatening me..” so imagine, this guy does this every time he drives to people with their windows roled down and people on motorcycles, knowing its a shitty thing to do, because he has a gun. If he shoots you there is nothing that’s gonna say he was blowing that thick smoke in your face to entice you.

@@bobroberts2371 Nope. The exact same thing happened to me. I was driving my red truck (1997 Ford F350 Diesel) and a guy standing in his yard yelled at me to "slow the F down". The speed limit was 25 and I was going 25. It was in my neighborhood. I drove that street to get to my street. I always had the truck in second gear. It second gear it would go 25 mph and rev high, and I loved to hear that turbo diesel. I told the guy I was in second gear and going 25. He said I was speeding. I told him to get in and we drove around the lake. He admitted I was not speeding and said it sure sounded like I was. We have now been friends for 27 years. I'm going to send him this video.

Its sad how something so avoidable and ignorant cost two people this much. So many have lost so much over this false sense of "honor" or whatever u ewant to call their macho, tough guy attitude and unwillingness to compromise or back down. I try to tell my family to avoid getting bothered or getting irate over such small issues and to no start fights . Life is so much nicer when u finally learns and achieves the peace of mind to just let things go. When issues do arise, deescalate and try your best to avoid confrontations altogether. Ive learned so much from ASP and Im truly thankful for all u guys do. Idk about law but how can they "retry" him if wasnt charged on the first try. Isnt that double jeopardy.

You make a valid point that confrontational behavior can sometimes escalate into violence, and it’s wise to de-escalate or avoid such situations when possible. However, the idea that 15% of people are “certifiably insane and violent” isn’t supported by the data. Studies show that about 1-2% of the general population may engage in violent behavior annually, and of those, only a very small fraction (less than 0.1%) are individuals with severe mental illness. In fact, most people with mental illnesses are not violent and are far more likely to be victims of violence rather than perpetrators.
That said, you’re absolutely correct that confrontation can be a major red flag. People who are confrontational with strangers are statistically more likely to escalate situations into violence, so it’s usually best to disengage and avoid provocation. While the “15%” figure might be an overestimate, the spirit of your advice-to avoid escalating situations with potentially unstable or aggressive individuals-is sound and practical.

Some dude was trying to fight me at a public swimming pool.. He kept lets take it outside. It started because my kid was getting bullied by someone elses kid and I asked the kid to stop. SO this random woman started yelling at me. It wasnt even her kid... and when she didnt feel satisfied yelling at me she tried to involve her husband... also not his kid either. Dude started trying to fight me while holding his tiny little girl. I asked why would I even want to do that. He kept saying well lets take this outside. My main thoughts other than why try to fight someone while holding your child, I dont know if he has a gun, he doesnt know I do have a gun. No reason to fight him I have my kids and he clearly isnt going to fight me in here. I de-escalated by drawing attention to other staff members of the pool. That way it would collaborate my story should asshole wait for me outside later on. Especially since I kept trying to de-escalate. All happened within a few minutes. I mostly just created distance afterwards. The staff was on my side since I wasnt the one escalating and kept trying to break off from the argument. All because someone else wasnt watching their little demon child. Which later the parent of said kid made their child apologize to my daughter. Was a youth pastors kid no less. He had a son with him as well about my daughters age. Moral of the story though keep your ego in-check and dont take the fight outside or get into a physical fight in the first place. You cant always avoid confrontation, but you can typically avoid making it worse.
