I have never seen Lily more excited than this! So happy for her! I'm sure there will be a learning curve, but she will do great! He is a gorgeous horse!
Thank you Justin for taking the time to share this moment with us. I think this ranks at the very top of my favorite videos of yours. I'm so glad I got to tag along. Nice horse Lily!!
So heartwarming to see a father spend time with his daughter, and also to follow her lead in this very important selection. She won’t need a video to remember this day, as it’s cemented in her heart. Good job, dad!
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I can sleep easily knowing that your dear little daughter has her well deserved horse. The boys have had a lot of toys at their disposal for a long time. She is a respectful and obedient sweet little lady and this horse in her life is so well deserved. Well done to you all for having the courage to take on a horse for Lily. I just hope she remembers it is not about horse shows or how high he can jump compared to other horses. It is about the adventures in the wilderness and friendship you can gain from having a horse in your life. Any problems ask Think like a horse channel here on YT. Rick is the Joe Salatin of the US horse world. Love from an expat Brit in Fennoscandinavia.
So, happy for you dear Lily and for the entire family. I love you wearing your outfit. You are a beautiful and precious girl. All the happiness from my heart to all of you. You are almost part of my family and watch your videos every day. Lily, take care of yourself. ❤❤❤
Those are not toys you refer to...they are machinery! Those boys work hard. I invite every farmer, construction worker, heavy equipment operator in the comments to chew a new one! You are implying thats play and not work. I think youll find out youre full of it.
Congratulations, Lilly ! My 1st big horse was 14 hands, and also liked for me to talk to her. After I'd had her a while. And we knew each other. I would sing as I rode. If I stopped she would turn her head around and look at me. As if to say why did you stop. Lol 🤣 You will become best friends. I'm so happy for you. ❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
They really are like a best friend, you talk to them and tell them everything! They know the mood you are in too and even comfort you with their love. I will never forget my first horse!
Lily, I'm so happy for you. Congratulations on buying Peaches. He's going to be a huge blessing for you. Your hard work on the homestead has paid off. It has proven how responsible you are as a caretaker.
This just warms my heart seeing lily’s face light up when she’s talking about Peaches!! Lily is just the sweetest girl, she definitely deserves this! Congratulations on the new farm addition!
Talk to him Lily. Talk to him when you're riding when you're grooming, when you're just hanging around, tell him when your sad or happy. Horses are great listeners. My horse was my best friend. Blessings to you and Peaches.
Lily! I’m so excited and HAPPY for you. You work so hard to help your family to live your amazing life. Your positive and loving personality comes through every episode. You and Peaches have so many great adventures ahead of you. We can’t wait to watch you grow into the amazing horsewoman I know you will be. Peaches is so lucky to have you as his person
Happy for Lily! Hope Justin makes a fenced pasture or corral for Peaches right away. (If he hasn't already. He's a very forward horse and if he is kept in the stall all the time he may become hard to handle for Lily. They have a lot to learn and although Lily knows some, she needs adult guidance. 😀
As an Instructor we always recommend parents have a "ground lesson" with new horses especially if the horse is kept at home. Ask Lillys trainer!!! Well done Lilly several of those jumps were spectacular! You two will be best bodies!
Dearest Lilly, I remember the day I got my horse, brought tears to my eyes watching your joy , I'm so happy for you. This horse will be like a best friend to you. Love the name Peaches. Remember the horse will understand much better if you talk to him, tell him everything. I am 60 now, some of the best times in my life was with my horse, cherish these moments, you will have these memories forever... Much Love & Favor to you Lilly, your gonna be a great horse mama!!! 💜💜💜
Love the name peaches. Friendly tip for doing the meds via mouth. It will take some time, but gently hold it onto his cheek, even following him through the head movements, and wait. And wait. Eventually he will relax. Either push it in right then then step back to give him a reward of space. Or if you're extra patient, step back as soon as he relaxes, to reward the relaxation. Do that over and over to make a strong association with relaxation before attempting to administer it again. Yay for Lily!
This brought me to tears....of joy for Lily. She is so deserving and waited so patiently for a horse. I'm so happy for her. She is an amazing little girl.
I'm so happy for you, Lily. What a beautiful, well-mannered horse and gentle around children. I'm sure you two will become very close because he will sense how much you want and love him. I'm sure your whole family will all become close to him. He will love to be rode and to be a Rhodes. Love and congratulations, honey.
The horse is a new adventure for the whole family, but I wonder how long it will be before Lily starts a new channel devoted to her horse activities. I'm very happy for Lily and admire the contributions she makes to the family homestead. 🐎😃
Lily is so precious, shes such a little trooper in everything she does and I was so excited for her. She is so deserving of getting the horse. Your a great daddy making her so happy.
So proud of Lily and her horse Peaches! What I’m impressed with is her equestrian knowledge and how she handed Peaches. But the funniest part was when she started barking out orders to the boys to do this and that! lol how cute! If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it many times over, we need more kids growing up with the values and enthusiasm for life, just like your children. They could be praised for they do. This is well deserved for Lily. Makes my heart warm!❤
I have really respected Lily and your way of getting her ready to be a horsewoman. She is so prepared for the work and time needed to care for a horse, she is not afraid of getting in and grooming, mucking out, working and riding ahead. Horses are not like pets, they need daily work and a person who is committed to that work. I think the way you went about this was ideal, Lily is shining in her element and I look forward to seeing more of her horsemanship ahead.
As part of the "Horse for Lily fan club" So happy it finally happened. Awesome kiddo! Now can you please send me one of your famous pies. I am excited for her!
I’m so excited for Lily!!! 14 hands is tall enough for a roping horse! Peaches is a beautiful horse… perfect for her to grow up with and tall enough that she won’t outgrow him. When y’all said “pony” I was thinking so much smaller but he’s just perfect! I know a horse trainer who team ropes and she’s not much over 5 feet if that and her roping horse is 14 hands too and she’s a grown woman. I’d prefer her to have a western saddle too because it’s for just pleasure riding and safer. One could jump with a western saddle but that saddle horn really helps one not fly over the top of the horse and it gives the other kids something to hold on to. I rode barrels when I was like 13-14 years old, which one is flying around those barrels and down the home stretch. But he’s really beautiful and just perfect! 🤩 Blessings… keep that stall mucked out!!
Kudos from a trainer and instructor to Lilly and Dad! Lilly has good safety equipment and obviously a good teacher. I hope she continues with regular lessons.
So so happy for Lily! She worked so hard for her horse and so deserves it! He is a beauty and will be her best friend! I had a horse growing up, my daughter had a horse and now my grandaughter is carrying on the tradition of riding, 4H, shows etc.! It is a great thing!
Lily your horse is beautiful and he has a wonderful temperament! I couldn't believe they called it Justin! I can't wait to see Lily working with Peaches!🙏🏻👍🤗😎😇👏🥳
Aw we have all been waiting for this and what a gorgeous little horse he is!! Lovely nature and colouring but not too lazy, has some oomph in him. Lily I hope you 2 will have many happy rides together
This was just the best! Every girl’s dream to have a horse! I finally had mine at 55! One can never stop hoping or dreaming, right? One thing that some people have mentioned, the horse is going to need a fenced in pasture for sure. Horses can get stuck in that movable fence stuff you use. Also, they love to rub on things,so get ready for that! I can’t tell you how many fence posts mine bent over from rubbing on them! He will get bored in a stall all the time. So happy for Lily! She is living the dream!
I have been waiting for this video ever since Lily said she wanted a horse. I'm so excited for her! It is so delightful to see her anticipation on the drive to get the horse and the smile on her face on the way home. I know she'll do great with Peaches.
Oh how thrilling! Go Lily go, I am so glad you are finally getting your horse. This is such a special video...this will change her entire life and you got it all on film. Beyond heartwarming. 🎆🎉
Yeah, Lily!☆☆☆ I can't wait to see you working the farm with Peaches. I believe Mr. Justin is soon to see how helpful a horse is around the farm, he will be really glad he got you your long awaited Peaches. ❤❤❤
Lily, Don't create a "Treat Monster" It's best to not feed horses treats from your hands. Give it to them in a bucket. That goes for the whole family too! I know you've learned about horses in the wild in your reading and studying horses. *A leader in the herd never gives feed to another horse.* (They might be allowed to eat near them, but the leader will have an attitude!) You need to be a leader in your relationship, so if you feed him treats you are giving that position up to Peaches. 50% of training horses is NOT teaching them what we DON'T want them to know. And YOU WILL be training him with every ride and interaction. People I recommend on TH-cam for Training: SteveYoung, Ryan Rose. They both ride western, but the training principles are the same for english. Work on communicating with your horse first from your seat and legs and then from the reins! You've got this! Congratulations! I hope you and Peaches have a long, happy relationship!
I worry about too many treats, a friend learned the hard way and had to retrain her horse after getting bit when she didn’t present the treats fast enough
I'm so happy for her. I remember my first horse I was younger than her but and happy. Been riding ever since. She is really good with him. They will bond quickly. He seems to have a gentle snd kind spirit. She really deserved this. ❤🎉
Oh I’m so pleased for Lily, I commented weeks ago that Lily deserved her horse as she is such a positive happy helpful hardworking 12yr old! Well done for making her dreams come true! ❤❤❤❤
The joy I feel for Lily is amazing!! I've been watching sense she called at 8 yrs old for a horse and then these past 3 yrs growing to this moment. HOW WONDERFUL!!!!
❤❤❤❤I am as excited as Lily! Wooohoo! I’m so so happy for her! Way to go Justin…baby girl is a true gem and she totally deserves this! Blessings ❤️🙏🏻❤❤❤
Congratulations Lily! There will be so many valuable lessons and FUN owning a horse. Y'all did things the right way and I hope she will continue to have lessons with her new horse now! Yeah!
I'm so happy for Lily!!!!! I'm sure she is in horse heaven. Just be careful and have fun riding him around the farm. Great adventure for the entire family. Lily, you will have to charge your brothers if they want to ride him. lol 😂 Feed cost a lot of money, never mind the treats. 🐎🐎🐎🐎
Yay!!!! Lily you so suit that horse-so excited for you sweet girl. Great support mom and dad. Such a great welcoming committee ❤️❤️❤️thank you for the share
So happy for Lily and her new adventures with her sweet little gelding. He has such a cute head, and seems to have a very nice disposition. Her joy brings me back to when I got my first horse, a little stubborn Appaloosa, followed a few years later by my quarter horse filly that I fulfilled my dream to show horses. Such a wonderful opportunity! Congrats, Lily!!
So happy for you Lily. A girl needs a horse. I'm glad you finally got yours. I was 22 months old when I got my first horse. He was the love ofnmy life, and although I've owned several he is still in my heart. I'm glad you got a palomino with chrome its the perfect horse for you. I've owned 2. Please take good care of him. Not too much grain or apples. So he doesn't get a belly ache. Really just pasture & fresh water is all he needs. Good luck & congratulations, girl. You deserve him.
OMG!!!! I am sooooooo happy for Lily. Congratulations. This horse is well deserved and will be much loved. My horse was the best gift I ever received from my parents. Happy trails 😊❤😊❤🎉
Finally, Lily has a horse. She is such a sweet little girl & so cute in her riding outfit. She deserves her horse. I think she’s going to need an arena for riding. Congratulations Lily.
WOW! That is a pretty horse. I wasn't expecting that. Way to go Dad and Lily. ❤ This is going to be one happy horse being with the Rhodes family., ❤ Be proud Lily he is your first horse, and he is pretty and has those soft eyes.
Awe finally! I have been waiting to see a horse for this hard working, sweet, kind little lady! Congratulations Lily!!!! Take good care of your Peaches! He will take care of you! May God bless you! blessing from Oregon, christine
Oh the days...my sister rode and showed for her trainer...she had been so good with her riding and care, my parents gave her the horse for Christmas😊 Congratulations ❤
Oh Lily! Here goes riding off into the sunset, lol. I remember reading about Roy Rogers when he played the Lone Ranger. Trigger was so well trained, Rogers never had to speak, he tapped Trigger on the neck for commands. Both of them were amazing athletes and worked so well together. I look forward to watching your progress with “peaches”!
@@lauravest9964 Roys horse was Trigger. The lone Rangers horse's name was Silver. Remember he would always say "Hi ho Silver!" Dale Evans, Roys wife and costar horse was Buttercup, if i remember correctly. Peaches does have the coloring of Trigger, palomino edit: Dale's horse's name was buttermilk.Sorry
Agreed a mentor is vital, but horses my husband learned definitely not something they grow out of. I worry about colic, nearly lost a horse to that the whole family took turns walking her, the vet was recommending a $10,000 surgery, luckily she pulled out of it with medications and never letting her lie down. It’s the feed, don’t let them eat hay that’s been rained on and no oats without plenty of water handy, and sometimes it just happens. But lily will be great I’m confident
Aww so sweet. I was her once. I didn’t get my first horse until I was in my late 20’s. Horses are actually the reason I got into homesteading. Been homesteading with horses for 21 years now! Anyway, good job dad. You did good!
I teared up just reading the title. Lily....i am soooo happy this horse gets YOU. RHODES...we are so blessed that you share such value and nuturing that your family lives by. Thank you. LILY+PEACHES = ❤👱♀️🐎
Congrats Lily, you have worked so hard for this! It is amazing how much you will learn having your own horse, it is a special bond you will share with Peaches. You did such a great job riding him for the first time. I have tried many horses out and it is always hard riding a new horse in a new environment. He looks to have more energy than your used to but you did amazing!! He will be so much fun for you to ride :)
So sweet! Nothing like a girl and her deep bond with her horse! It will be a forever feeling! Congratulations Lilly! So excited for you and Peaches! Can't wait to see your sweet adventures together!!! He will be your best friend!🐎❤️🐴
I have rode horses all my life, im 70 now. Horses are so great for kids, they have the best friend, a neck to cry on in the tough times, responabilty,, a teaches them to love not only the horse but all the things they can do with them. You never forget that first one or the next and the next and the next! Lol Have fun Lilly.❤
Very top!! So good!
So heartwarming to see a father spend time with his daughter, and also to follow her lead in this very important selection. She won’t need a video to remember this day, as it’s cemented in her heart. Good job, dad!

Well horses are different to machinery. Daily maintenance and rising vs machines ya use them whenever and just put them away
So, happy for you dear Lily and for the entire family. I love you wearing your outfit. You are a beautiful and precious girl. All the happiness from my heart to all of you. You are almost part of my family and watch your videos every day. Lily, take care of yourself. ❤❤❤

Annie...your story sound very similar to my horse story. My shire horse was my best friend for 25 years. Bless you for your sweet singing.
That was a sweet comment that made me giggle :)
They really are like a best friend, you talk to them and tell them everything! They know the mood you are in too and even comfort you with their love. I will never forget my first horse!

From your mouth to Justin's ears!
I think he's a bit to much horse for her. 55 years experience with horses here.
As an Instructor we always recommend parents have a "ground lesson" with new horses especially if the horse is kept at home. Ask Lillys trainer!!! Well done Lilly several of those jumps were spectacular! You two will be best bodies!
WHAT A CLASSY ADORABLE PONY!!! SHE HAS A LOVELY SEAT, WHAT A NICE MATCH. HOPE YOU HAVE MANY MANY YEARS TOGETHER. MY FIRST WAS A PALOMINO.
WHAT A LOVELY INSTRUCTOR THAT SHOWED THEM THIS PONY.
She is an amazing little girl.
me too !!
I'm so happy for you, Lily. What a beautiful, well-mannered horse and gentle around children. I'm sure you two will become very close because he will sense how much you want and love him. I am soooo happy for sweet Lily. Finally got what she has worked so hard for. Thank you Justin.
So proud of Lily and her horse Peaches! What I’m impressed with is her equestrian knowledge and how she handed Peaches. But the funniest part was when she started barking out orders to the boys to do this and that! lol how cute!

Couldn't agree more.
Yay Lily!
Happy for you!

Finally, Lily has a horse. She is such a sweet little girl & so cute in her riding outfit. She deserves her horse. I think she’s going to need an arena for riding. Congratulations Lily.

Idont remember Roy Rogers played the lone ranger..
He played Roy Rogers and had a show with his wife Dale Evans. Trigger was the horse with the Lone Ranger. And Tonto.
@@lauravest9964 Roys horse was Trigger. The lone Rangers horse's name was Silver. Remember he would always say "Hi ho Silver!"
Dale Evans, Roys wife and costar horse was Buttercup, if i remember correctly.
Peaches does have the coloring of Trigger, palomino
edit: Dale's horse's name was buttermilk.Sorry
Oh yeah. Silver. It has been a long time since I was a kid
I saw this video pop up this morning!!! I certainly felt all the "feels" so excited for Lily, and this new horse adventure!
🎉🎉🎉
So happy for Lily! A little worried for Peaches. But I’m sure a “horse mentor” is in your future 😊
Why worried?
Agreed a mentor is vital, but horses my husband learned definitely not something they grow out of. I worry about colic, nearly lost a horse to that the whole family took turns walking her, the vet was recommending a $10,000 surgery, luckily she pulled out of it with medications and never letting her lie down. It’s the feed, don’t let them eat hay that’s been rained on and no oats without plenty of water handy, and sometimes it just happens. But lily will be great I’m confident
@@kc8644 yes, they can be tricky animals to keep healthy if you don’t know what you’re doing. Peaches looks like a great horse for her 😊
Sa
W a little crow hop. Head a bit high near end of ride. Worried that Lily doesn't know how to correct these things.
@@marilyn5208I'm sure that's why she's taking lessons
I don't know anything about horses, but this woman instructing Lily seems to be a really good coach
Your kiddos are so fortunate to have you as parents. Lily is living her best life. I am so happy for her and Peaches!!
Congratulations Lilly , what a wonderful looking horse you have there , ride happy....
Lilly is such a smart kind horse girl. Great video.
Oh Lilly I’m busting with happiness for you and you sit well in the saddle, well done both of you. 😊
notive how lily says " hes so perfict for us" not just her....great child...
That is a beautiful animal inside and out💕 Congratulations Lily 🍃 Once you get used to a forward horse, you never go back, it’s so much more fun! 🍀
So sweet! Nothing like a girl and her deep bond with her horse! It will be a forever feeling! Congratulations Lilly! So excited for you and Peaches! Can't wait to see your sweet adventures together!!! He will be your best friend!🐎❤️🐴
Lily so well deserved! So excited for you!!! Enjoy your early Christmas gift! ❤❤❤❤🐴🐴🐴🐴
So happy for you Lilly ,look like you have a good horse there xx
