Josiah is the quiet hero of the Rhodes homestead. He's stepped up to the plate and beyond since Jonah's injury. Never seeks attention - just gets the job done. Hats off to you Josiah - you've become a man at an early age.

Try putting a gate spring on the chicken run, it will automatically pull the gate to the closed position even if it doesn't latch the latch 😁 I've used them for this and my lower door section on my wood frame greenhouse... Works great.

I know having a horse can get expensive, with feed and all the tack you would need, but Lilly does so much for y’all and doesn’t complain. I mean she cooks better than most adult women. She cleans, milks the cows, takes care of chickens, she babysits and does everything you ask her to do. The boys have a motorcycle, they operate heavy equipment, they have chainsaws, well the 2 oldest boys do. Please start looking for a horse for Lilly. She is very responsible for a girl her age and she really does so much without complaining or even being asked. Anyway, I absolutely love how you and Rebekah raise your children. They are all well rounded, well educated and someday they’ll take over the farm. Congratulations on building a future for them. Much love and Blessings…😊

I think when the time comes, she will get her horse. They need to get the house done so they have time to help her until she can handle it herself. They are all so busy right now. I am so impressed with her cooking skills. Being the only girl around all those boys makes her one tough little lady. Nothing slows her down. She reminds me of the song I can do anything you can do only better. 😂❤❤. Your amazing Lilly.

This is the journey of a homestead family with all of the problems, solutions, drama, comedy, character study, and growth that comes with it. There is also plenty of suspense to keep us watching to see what will happen next. It is great to see how all of the children are growing, maturing, and gaining confidence in themselves. That's great content.

Just a word to Jonah - hang in there, things will work out with your hip. I had a similar injury to my hip when I was twelve years old. This was over 60 years ago, and they didn't have the technology to fix it properly. I've lived with one leg two inches short all my life, and I can't say it's really hindered me much. I adapted to limping so that I didn't even notice it, although other people noticed. I truly hope they can even out your leg length, but even if they can't, you're going to be fine. (Just between you and me, a lot of girls found my "romantic limp" attractive, so don't worry on that account).

If you want a gravity feeder for chicks, put a 10 gallon tote inside a 30 gallon tote & cut holes near the bottom in both totes. The inner tote is filled with feed, it drops feed into the space between the two totes, & the chicks eat from outside the larger tote. Holds 10 gallons...and feeds 75 sea monsters for 2 days

When I was 12 it was found out my right leg was almost 1-1/2" shorter than my left leg I started to lay on my stomach as much as possible ...hooked feet at end of mattress so that Matt. Was right at ankles ,then I reached up to hold onto Matt. at my head & then relaxed ,once I felt relaxed I gently started to slowly pull with my hands but made sure my feet stayed locked in at bottom of mattress ...thus actually , stretching my body gently & getting back, hip,&leg muscles to relax more n fall into place ...over a years time with wearing a small leather insert into my shoe to compensate the difference between legs well...between the two things my legs were only 1/2inch shorter after a year.. this was doctor advised since my parents could not afford any surgery for me n I didn't want to be wearing shoe with added heel on outside of shoe ...I was a young girl n wanted pretty shoes...but this worked n I did it often during day n never forgot to do it ...that leather insert kept my muscles more relaxed.. n In time I was wearing high heels to my first dance at 15 at the church summer festival !!!

Best to speak in positives not negatives to limit misunderstandings. Instead of saying "don't stop" you would replace it with "keep moving". There is no way to miss interpret the second as "stop". This is particularly important during high stress/adrenaline situations as the human brain loses its capacity for linguistic nuance and just acts.

Screen shot this to share with the hubs. Giving directions he tells me 3 things not to do & 1 to do. I always say, dude stop saying what NOT to do, my mind is focusing on that now. 😊

When are you going to get a portable milking machine and save Lilies little hands from arthritis when she’s 50? A little generator in the back of Sally or Selma. Attach the unit to the milk cart.
