Welcome to the Atto 3 owners club. I have had my Blue Atto 3 since the middle of September. It's a fantastic EV, I'm very happy with mine. First thing I did was change the tyres to Continental Ecocontact XL 5 tyres and then had all the windows tinted.
This is what I'm thinking of doing also. I have ContiSport Contact5 on my current car and it's nice to have tyres that corner and grip in the wet. The short test drive that I had in the Atto 3 made me think that Atlas aren't the best choice
Did a test drive in JB, not a bad car actually. The sound proof was superb, acceleration response was good, zippy reaction when turning at junctions and curves. The AC charging speed of only 7.4kw and unable to adjust the regen level plus no dials and buttons for immediate climate controls and radio are the deal breakers and the price tag of RM168k
thanks for making this video - great narrative. I am about to order one here in Christchurch NZ so its good to see your process. (we have no cheques in NZ for well over a year so thats no issue here). thanks
I have heard poor experience with the deliveries here is Australia and preferred checking the car first before handing over my hard earn cash...they did provide payment instructions but I didn't read it carefully and just assumed they take bank cheques. I think the delivery process in NZ is much more organised.
Fantastic introduction to your new and first EV. And congrats! I can see you love the quietness of the BYD ATTO 3 ... what ICE car did you previously use? Perhaps a comparison between your old ICE car and your new EV would be good so show the benefits of owning an EV?

Regardless if car is locked or not, press to lock and then immediately hold down the bottom key that looks like a 3/4 circle with a small arrow head. Very nice video and good explanation of the delivery process. I just really wish you would keep your hands on the wheel when you're driving. What kind of range are you getting? What kind of charger you use and what is your longest and shortest drive? During my test drive I found the stereo system to be below average, Hyundai i30 GO is far better, what is your feeling?
Haven't tested the real world range yet tbh. My longest drive was about 100km. At the moment from the driving that I have done I would be comfortable with 300km - 350km.Hoping to do some tests in the next couple of weeks. I do max 50km a day so an overnight trickle charge for me is plenty. I probably agree with you, the audio is not the best.
Thanks for video. Have 2 question: does it have V2H charging? 1. Can I power my home with car's battery? 2. How many kilowatts does it take to be fully charged? Assuming 60kwh battery will take 60 kilowatts of electricity to be fully charged? Will appreciate your answers m
At the moment the byd atto 3 has vehicle to load capability meaning it can power appliances that uses a 10amp plug. Using it to power the home may be possible but will require some technical set up that I am not too familiar with. Correct 60kwh battery will take 60kw to fully charge the car.

Seems like the BYD quality control is quite well managed, I have a couple of panel gaps in my Model 3's trunk that I just can't un-see. Will you be primarily trickle charging at home? Or using public AC or DC chargers? Keep up the great work!
Thanks Anthony!! I was very excited indeed. I will definitely put this side by side with a Tesla and do a comparison. They BYD is a serious contester in the Australian EV market. Most of the regen braking on the BYD is initiated using the brake pedal. When I switch between standard and high you can feel a little bit of braking when lift off but not enough to facilitate one pedal driving. Hope this make sense. It was just a first impression so maybe I can make a full video on it
Not any more as the verification process has to occur and that prevents immediately delivery. Vendors want to see the money has actually flowed into their account before handing over their goods.
Ridiculous hey, I picked one up brand new from a car rental company on a 12 month rental contract. I called BYD straight after saying I need mats and they said ok you can drive 55 kms to come buy some if you want.
0540, tyres pressure…can you change to Nitrogen gas instead of regular air? I have been using Nitrogen for years now and the tyres stay inflated fine. No slow leaks….. Laurie. NZ. 😅😅😅🎉🎉🎉
I looked at these cars but was really disappointed in handling and performance. The lack of traction in powered cornering, slippery conditions or loose surfaces was downright unsafe. Slow charging, driver assist features that don’t work etc etc. Also noted the very high depreciation on cheap Chinese evs was also a concern. I believe this is due to lack of ability to upgrade car systems and components via software updates. The greed of the local dealer increasing the price from$35K to $50K (they are less than $30K in China) and lousy warranty really killed my interest. When including depreciation and continuous updates, decided that a Tesla m3 was a much better value. The great performance and handling as well as safety were also added bonus. There is just no comparison between the Tesla and the BYD Strongly recommend you test drive this car and a Tesla before you buy.
I own an Atto3 and can confidently say you know very little about the car and the ownership experience. BYD are hopeless at communications, but when it comes to needing something done, it happens fast. As to depreciation, I suggest you look at Atto 3 car sales prices and you will find a few going for at least $5k more than was paid. So these cars are APPRECIATING. My Atto 3's sunroof is great, but where is that on a Tesla? My screen images are crisp, not fuzzy like the Tesla's, and screen responsiveness is almost instant. I cannot justify spending almost $20k more to get something that's fractionally better in some regards, but has a fantastic supercharging network. BECAUSE in 3 months I have never used anything other than my garage's electricity power point to keep my EV's battery topped up.
I paid for mine out right to eliminate headaches. I understand that the delivery process in Australia is still being refined so wanted to keep the process as simple as possible.
Not so keen on some of the interior like that white part on the dash and those controls either. And any car now more so EV with old style door handles on the outside just looks a tad dated
Get a proper car, Subaru forester or Toyota rav4 is heaps better.. Kia spirtage kr Hyundai Tucson.. enjoy the atlas Batman tyres they fit. Quality tyres
I dont understand why do you bother to spend all that time to go through all those? Its a brand new car with warranty, you dont have confidence with the quality of the car or something?
BYD is a new brand in Australia and the delivery process is still being refined. I have heard people that have taken delivery without RFID key, V2L and paint defects. It's definitely worth taking another 10 minutes going through everything to save future headaches and potentially more time. The sales rep will likely go through everything with you anyway but the list just gives us an idea what to look for.
@@juicdgarage I am 40 years older than you and every time I buy a new car I do what you did. I can't believe that people who are spending around $50k can think other humans have NOT made a mistake or missed something. I remember some years ago getting a free 1500km first service on my new car, and discovered they had ran the tyres into something so sharp the sidewall was cut so deeply as to be a write off. All it took was a 3 minute walkaround!

Is it different depending on if you're using the high mode or the standard mode? That's common with a lot of EVs
Most of the regen braking on the BYD is initiated using the brake pedal. When I switch between standard and high you can feel a little bit of braking when lift off but not enough to facilitate one pedal driving. Hope this make sense. It was just a first impression so maybe I can make a full video on it

Very odd they wouldn’t accept a bank cheque, it’s as good as cash 🤔
Not any more as the verification process has to occur and that prevents immediately delivery.
Vendors want to see the money has actually flowed into their account before handing over their goods.
ventilated seats not available, does it matter?
I never had ventilated seats so not a problem for me
I would rather get some floor mats instead of hand lotion 😂
Ridiculous hey, I picked one up brand new from a car rental company on a 12 month rental contract. I called BYD straight after saying I need mats and they said ok you can drive 55 kms to come buy some if you want.
No bank cheques 😮?
No bank cheques
Hi able to get the checklist too if possible?
Hey Nicholas, the check list can be found in the BYD Electric Vehicle Owners Group on Facebook. I have provided a link in the description section
Car dealer doesn't except a bank cheque. Gee only way I've ever paid for big items.
Is this the white or grey colour?
This is the white, but it's not really white. It's more pearl silver
@@juicdgarage oh i see, It looks really nice! I'm trying to decide on the grey or the white. Thanks for the video as well :)
There is just no comparison between the Tesla and the BYD
Strongly recommend you test drive this car and a Tesla before you buy.
Ctrl C and Ctrl V
How is the warranty like in Aussie? In Malay atto3 has 6 years/ 150k km warranty, which is really generous
did you do a trade-in and how did that go?
I paid for mine out right to eliminate headaches. I understand that the delivery process in Australia is still being refined so wanted to keep the process as simple as possible.
@@juicdgarage thanks! still waiting for mine so thanks for the video, gives me something to hope for lmao!
Still waiting lmao
Hi, can you at least say what country you are in and state or county
Australia 🦘
Didn't like the interior, its very must you like it or not type thing. I think this car would be hard to sell.
Not so keen on some of the interior like that white part on the dash and those controls either. And any car now more so EV with old style door handles on the outside just looks a tad dated
castle hill byd。Crestwood reserve😊
Is there anything you don't like about your car? I'm about to get a 🐬
Just wondering if anyone else would want to remove the weird long name on the boot and change it to just BYD?
Me!
Actually there’s regen in this car. You can select between standard or larger. This is just fyi.
Also, critics of the Atto 3's regen seem not to have worked out that applying the brakes also applies the strongest form of the car's regen.
I'll be running some tests just to get a better understanding on how the regen works

How much you pay?
In Australia with the government incentives, the extended range is approx. $45k (pre price hike). Now would be closer to $48k with rebate
@@juicdgarage oh wao!, in Dominican Republic the cost is $68k american dollar, the same vehicle.
@Nelson Portes in my country, BYD atto3 will cost more than US$135k for long range model. No standard or short range model option here.
@@johnnytang5192 68k standard range. 🥹

Chinese Australia's buying Chinese cars.
Can u save $$ by flying to China, buying a BYD and bringing it back to AUS? Then your trunk slogan would be in Chinese.!!
The steering wheel will be on the opposite side of your usual driving. China is on the left steering in the car
So - what don't do what you did? Forgot to arrange money?! Clickbait... 😡
