Great video 👍 I notice with my 20 deg quilt with overfill I don't have to pat the down feathers along the chambers to even it out as much. I tend to do that more often with the 40 deg since the lower amount of down doesn't fill the space as easily.
Good points! All very valid. #8 is my biggest problem, since my channel has ADHD as badly as I do, there is no telling what my bag needs to be! I might be camping with Shan in the teardrop, or I might be doing a thirty-mile hike with the guys. Or even a big kayak trip on the Yukon River. Or any number of things in between. That is why I have about 6-8 different bags hanging in my gear rack.
@ I think that all of my bags, except two of them, came from Unclaimed Baggage, when I ran across them at a great deal! Haven’t found one there in a while, though. My main bag, that I use the most, is a 40° Northface that I picked up there for $9! And it is still in like new condition. I use it all the time!
I agree. And I just bought a 20 degree under quilt. When I got it, it was only 40. Disappointing. Get what you pay for. And it’s hard to pick them, because of price. I really got to pay attention.
Thanks, Squid, for sharing those thoughts.
I thought about you with the short quilt. 😂🦑
@GoneFeralWithSquidly I bought an EE long quilt and now it is too long. Lol

🤔 hmmm. I hadn’t even considered the fill migrating. 🦑
Well said Squid. Nice work. ✌️
Thanks Crow. You’re always so encouraging! 🦑
All goods points and tips Squid! 😊
Thanks! 🦑
That sounds like experience talking, and you know what they say about experience. 😬👍🏼
There’s no teacher like experience. 🤔🦑

That’s a lot of bags😂 and #8 is the reason why I justify having all the bags I do. 🦑

@ I still have a 20° Slumberjack synthetic bag I got at Unclaimed baggage for about $20 in 1995. Super heavy but it’s still good for car camping.
@ We go about once or twice a month. Find a good deal every once in a while. And a steal every now & then!
Great info! 😃💚👊
I'm glad you found it helpful. 🦑

Yep! You really have to know what you’re buying and pay attention to the temperature ratings. 🦑
Great pointers 🏕️🥾
Thanks! It’s the voice of bad experiences speaking. 😂🦑
@@GoneFeralWithSquidly I remember more lessons from the school of hard knocks than I do from university anyway 🤣🤪
@@elsieoutside that’s a FACT!!
Great info
Glad you think so! 🦑
