      tons of horror stories about this brand and their scooters on ElectricScooters sub. Apparently they've very low reliability and on top of that the customer service is egregious. ESG is a very popular channel, tons of people would be using your channel to make their 1st purchasing decision, It'd be great if you can include segment about the customer service. Also I'm curious to know how the reliability score is given, 9.4 for this model is kinda confusing.

    For my wife who works in NYC, leaving the long island railroad, then to the subway, then to hit the road for about another mile on the street, nothing beats lightweight. E-TWOW GT SE Smart Edition is a no brainer for her at about the same specs and price, 700W motor, 26mph max speed, long platform, 504Wh which is more than enough, easy fold and carry all at about 26lbs. An extra 15lbs up subway stairs would be too much for her. Thanks for your great reviews!

    I owned one of these in the past. It was a challenging experience. Endless loose screws, fender design, etc. When I owned one I had to tighten screws and adjust brakes before and after every ride. Went to the Glion Dolly after that which lasted more then two years without a lick of maintenance .

    Hell yeah brother. I was wondering, I've been looking at scooters and their weight limits, is that like a hard limit, or more of a "it won't perform to spec with someone above x weight"?

    Extremely confused how nothing negative was said about this scooter. Low mounted headlights are next to useless and used to be pointed out as a negative on this channel. The trigger throttle is similar. While that's something that can be rider preference, it's largely considered outdated and potentially the least desirable out of the three throttle types on scooters. Again, something that used to be mentioned on this channel. The low mounted headlight should be completely unacceptable on an electric scooter in 2024. How can you get a high "reliability" score if you can't see at night? This review reads like "don't say anything too harsh because we were sent the product for free". You didn't disclose that it was, so I assume it wasn't, but that makes the lack of any obvious negative remarks all the more strange.

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +32

      Thanks for your input.
      Negatives mentioned:
      Rattling headlight
      Suspension stiff for my weight
      Solid rear tire transmits vibration despite suspension
      Single brake not as good as dual
      You have to be sure to latch the stem all the way up
      Two different types of accessory lights were recommended.
      Lighting would impact the reliability score if the lights themselves seemed likely to malfunction. A scooter could have no lights at all and still be extremely reliable.
      Cheers

      We tend not to review scooters that don't have US-based support, because I feel like so many of those companies just come here to dump a couple containers of scooters and then disappear. • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's rated IP54 which was state of the art back in 2020, but others have surpassed this level of water resistance since then. It's ok for light showers, but I wouldn't ride it in a downpour or through 1" deep puddles. Also, keep in mind that almost no scooters in the world have warranty coverage for water damage, so be careful, and bring it inside to dry out if it gets wet. I'd also recommend adding silicone sealant where the cables enter the front of the deck.

      That's the downside of that type of mechanism. Any scooter that looks like these can potentially have that problem, because they can sometimes feel like they're latched when they aren't. I mention making sure it's all the way latched in this video, but wish I would have illustrated it a little better with a shot of what the scooter looks like when it's half-latched. As far as I know, the only scooters built in the US are 2Swift (more of a eskate than scooter), Rion, and sort of TAUR. Last I heard, they were doing final assembly in Los Angeles, but that may have changed.
      I suppose there are some fringe brands like Hollyburn too.
      Help me out folks. Anyone else know of a U.S. built scooter?

      I'm glad you asked. You may not have made it this far into the video, but we're giving scooters reliability scores now. The Touring does very well. -Paul

    It says max load 220, you claim 308.

      Thanks for pointing this out. That's really strange. The Touring has always had a famously high rider weight limit. It was once spec'd as high as 330lbs then was 308lbs for a very long time. I'll reach out to see if it's really 220lbs now. -Paul

    Too expensive for as slow as it goes . I’ve seen duel motors that go 45 mph for $100 less
