    This debate was a cliffhanger.
The concept of trinity is one tenet that informed my decision to ditch christianity and virtually all religions. It’s so illogical that the proponents of the idea appears to be clutching at straws in an attempt to sound knowledgeable. They do lots of tap dancing but ends nowhere.
The mere fact that one is called “father” and the other “son” is a clear indication that there’s a hierarchical relationship between the two. Trinitarians in essence are polytheists. The concoction of trinity doctrine is a clever way to get away from polytheism. A cursory look at Pauline letters affirms that Jesus was a created being, superior to any other creature, but not identical to the father. Per the bible, Jesus is divine. But divinity is not the same thing as being god. So Christians, choose to be polytheists or acknowledge unitarianism-no middle ground.

Yes, basically that it. Even Jesus himself never claimed to be god or any sort of divinity. The closest Jesus ever claimed to be god was in the gospel of John. But most ancient historians don't consider a reliable source of the life Jesus, if Jesus really claimed to be god, wouldn't we see such claims in John to be in the synoptic gospels? (Matthew, Mark, Luke)..... They didn't think that part was important to include in their accounts? Not minding the fact the earliest manuscripts of the gospel date atleast 4 decades after Jesus' death, meaning the stories were transmitted orally and the large time gap is more than enough time for myths and legends to develop, hence any divinity claims of Jesus are historically unrealible. To prove this, try doing a simple experiment with your friends and do with them a particular exercise, then ask them to give an account of the same event after 4 months, you will get very different interpretations. Now scale it to an apocalyptic preacher 2k years ago whom stories about him are circulating decades after his death. You see where this is going?
