Is the 2024 Ford Mustang EcoBoost a BETTER performance car than a Toyota Supra 2.0?

- The all new Mustang is here and Ford is bringing some big changes for 2024. On the outside you will immediately notice the bronze pkg with 19in wheels, special striped and quad-tip exhaust. On the inside there are all new materials, 12.3in infotainment, digital gauge cluster and flat-bottom wheel. Under the hood is a 2.3L turbocharged inline-4 that produces 315HP & is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Is the 2024 Ford Mustang EcoBoost a BETTER performance car than a Toyota Supra 2.0?

I like the ecoboost Mustang, that engine has more than enough power for the daily use.
You are not the first to say that
The base model is the best value at $31,400
I have a 2022 ecoboost that i was going to trade in for a v8 but it grew on me. Stupid ecoboost.
That’s why I got my 24 two Fridays ago
The Ecoboost 2.0L turbo is a great engine, but I would much rather prefer it to be on an AWD hatch or crossover. The Mustang is just too long and large for it. V8 is classic for the Stang.
I'm a tad disappointed with this new gen for the ecoboost specifically - it looks great but they took out the functional hood vents, side air curtains in the bumper, no paddle shifters especially is a big downer if you wanna shift yourself. Also kinda silly with the drive modes that it still shows a GT on the dash
It's just a tactic ford did to try and get you to buy the more expensive ecoboost package that comes with paddle shifters
@@Brian_Eugene_Lee But you won’t have the distance key starting if you choose the 6 manual 🥲

This is a WONDERFUL vehicle, sporty and an everyday driver as well.
I think you hit the nail on the head!
300 horses is the ideal amount of power for Street use in my opinion. Any more than that and your just spinning tires and getting tickets.

I love this new generation of the mustang. I just picked up my new 2024 Ecoboost, 2 weeks ago with the High Performance Package and MagneRide suspension. And it drives amazing and the performance is unbelievable!
That is so wonderful! Congrats!
What all does the high performance package add?
Let’s be realistic here, the performance is sufficient and fun but definitely not unbelievable. I would assign that adjective to Tesla’s performance
@@Tellurdogisayhellotwo key things are manual hand brake and paddle shifter
Raiti always giving me joy I love how you detail.
That means the world my friend!
I would take the eco-boost over the Supra, but I think if I was going the way of a Mustang, I would have to try and stretch my budget and get the iconic GT. If I was buying a sports car today, I would have a hard time passing up the value and fun to be had in the BRZ with the 6 speed.
I have the 23’ 6 speed BRZ, can confirm that after having faster cars, it’s enough for public roads and very fun.
Mustang GT is Hell on gas. Ya I would go BRZ for sure.
@johnlee6974 That like says the any base model honda or toyota is enough fun for public roads 😂
@@r3games1985which is why I wouldn’t want one 💀 all of the guys that I know who own v8’s are either really young and still living with their parents spending all of their money on their car or they’re older guys who have higher income and credit to buy toys like that because they spent their entire twenties working none stop. The base model is more attainable without the extra work
Bro supra is much better..faster and more petrol saver.. and at the end it's a toyota which makes it mucj better
Joe awesome review very in-depth as usual and what I love very comical, keep it going!!
Excellent review of modern technology, and we no longer live in a world where V-8's are king of the road. The eco boost is outstanding for what it is. A affordable daily driver with very respectable HP.
Great review. Do you prefer the styling particularly the frontend or the previous gen?
I really like the bronze wheels. The same with the bronze Mustang badge on the grill and on the trunk. I do like the concave look on the back. I have to agree with the layout of the screens appearing to be placed up a bit high like that. This would present a problem if you have the convertible. I, too, would be quite happy with this EcoBoost. What a cool look this new body style is. Great job.
I absolutely LOVE the cut out concave rear end. I is THE design cue that makes the 67 and the 68 my favorite Mustangs.
I was totally going to get this car but went with the mk8 GTI instead. I really like this new look for the Mustang. The GTI was just more practical for me. And it's not slow ether. Thx for the great work as always Joe.
Silly car for silly people.
The VW GTI is a much better choice.
Thanks Joe for the review. Most probably my next number one choice.
What you driving now?
Great review, Joe. Seriously, you crack me up!
I am so glad that I can share the cars with you and the laughs.
Great review Joe. I just picked up my 2024 premium last week. Definitely noticed the extra HP over my 2018 and it sounds way better too. Handles great.
Does it feel a good bit faster? I am going to be coming from a 2015 V6 mustang that I primarily used on 93 Octane
Sitting here watching this in my 2020 EcoBoost
I've had 6 GTs since 2007, the most recent being a 2021. I recently bought a totally base spec 2024 Ecoboost for a daily driver, and I have to say, it is a blast to drive. What I like the most is I can drive it in Track mode at 100% like a total dummy and throw it around easily. Over the years I have come to appreciate the fun of driving a car to it's max potential vs driving one at 50% of its potential. This is why cars like the Miata are so great... the whole more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow thing. Although, the Ecoboost is far from slow. Not saying I wouldn't buy another GT sometime, but for now, this Ecoboost is a real bargain and a hell of a lot of fun for $33k.
Excellent Excellent review SIR you are definitely the best in the business your reviews have helped our family in our last 6 vehicle purchases thru out different brands
I had a 1989 mustange with a 4 cylinder 2.3 loved it
Don't forget the new 79 Mustang was available with a turbo 4. They were pretty crude still using carburetors but I've seen a few survivors at Mustang shows. You could order it in any model Mustang but the option was dropped in 81. It came back in 83 for 2 years as the GT Turbo, now with fuel injection but not the intercooler the SVO got.
I had a 2015 Ecoboost 50th anniversary and it was faster than most 60's muscle cars, was almost a full second faster than my in-laws 1970 383 Roadrunner.
The color is hot joe there’s 1 thing they missin is the paddle shifters

Thank you. What I need is a black one for reference and now I have something to look at before buying. I'm from Vietnam. like you❤❤❤❤
well done color combinations on this one compared to all the dark horses I've seen so far. wonder what's done to the engine internals to support the power or gasp..., untouched?
No paddle shifters (think you need to buy a package) included outright, is ridiculous. This is a sports car, if the 10 speed is improved, everyone should be able to have some control over it.
Got mine finally, love it 🙏
Nice review i just purchased a 2024 Vapor Blue eco boost with the Nite Pony package and the Active Valve Performance package
Thinking of getting the exact same build, how do you like it?
12:10 *The base model has “uninterrupted screens (two individual) looks super nice*

Shouldve kept the screen where it was in yhe previous model and kept the air vent in the higher position
Very good points
Any Head Up Display option?
What’s up Joe! I have an 06 GT obviously much older specs but it’s still strong! I used to bash on people who drive anything other than a v8 but I’m now looking for a daily and I think this might be it lol!
will this car be available in Germany? (the ecoboost specifically not GT) any info would be appreciated
Just wondering if you’ve noticed any screen glitches or lag? The topher mentioned having a lot of lag on the darkhorse but he was driving a preproduction model
I really haven't seen it.

The true come up for the S650 is the EB. It actually got better. While the S650 GT/DH is a downgrade from the S550, the EB got upgraded. Sweet car, specially with a spoiler-delete.

The DH is a upgrade what are you talking about,
@@truckercowboyed2638 Only from a S650 GT. The S550 GT PPx, Mach 1, GT350 are superior in every single way. The S650 GT/DH are cool cruisers. They are the spiritual replacement of the Scatpack, with the combined looks of the Mustang and Camaro. Ford really tailored it for the market...and missed.

The mustang is a bit pricer but a more mature, well rounded car. It's the one I could live with long term.
can u make ecoboost convertible review??
I promise the Dark Horse in person is absolutely the best Mustang I've ever seen. And yes you can tell a 2024 Mustang apart from the previous Gen
Not sure to get this mustang eco boost or the new Acura integra, I know the integra doesn’t have 300+ hp but i feel it looks nicer, more rarer, and more practical..
That’s a tough choice
The Integra is essentially a highly option civic. It's also FWD. Mustang RWD all day every day.
I just drove one of these, it's a lot of fun! I think it's the fastest car for $35k according to Car and Driver. (0-60 - 4.5 seconds)
Elantra N will match it and drive dramatically better. Mustangs only good for freeway driving too heavy and 0 steering feel
