Hi this is a great video, I gave it a thumbs up and liked it, I want to know how to wire this same plug type, but I only have two wires, one is red one is black it's a hands free cordless phone, I cut off the first plug it was a moulded on plug, the phone had stopped working and I wanted to replace the 13 amp fuse and change the plug to see if I can get it working again, but I am not sure how I should place the wires inside the casing of the plug, I cannot find a diagram on the internet of these colour wires, they are both coated in insulated wire, how should I proceed safely? , please help me if you know the answer I would really appreciate it alot. Thank you Laura in uk
I believe you have the live wire and the neutral wire. It sounds like you have a device which has double insulation (plastic casing), which is why you don’t have the earth wire. The earth wire isn’t needed in a double insulated device, because the user is already protected from the current because plastic is a poor conductor.
