Alright since people are already talking about where it goes from here: This run isn't perfect, not even close. It *is* good and ground-breaking in some ways, but I'm not personally happy enough to leave it as it is. The most obvious place for improvement is the Rocket split, where i lose 12 seconds to my gold. Rocket is my achilles heel and it's a rough trick for most runners in general. Whilst it may look like it is effectively random, it's not. It's just really hard to be consistent. If i can get at least a decent Rocket, with a similar level across the rest of the run, then a 15:4x is within reach and that is where I think I would be happy to leave it. There are strats/better movement that could be implemented which could take it down even further, but they would all be new to me (and most people) and would likely take a long time to implement into the WR. While I do expect I will add these in eventually, there are other categories I want to tackle before then. So for now, i'm not adding in anything more. I've never seen that Klaww skip before, so that paired with the absolutely slacking cameraman on Mountain Pass just floored me, good shit my dude that was some slick gameplay
@@mcshach9982 at 7:06 he does a boosted that allows him to get behind klaww. This boosted is done during klaww's first phase of attacks. Usually, you have to wait until the first phase is over and collect blue eco, but Stellar skips this waiting with a first phase boosted

Funnily, (like most others) I'd never seen this variation of Klaww Skip used before, but I had once tried to do something very similar after I noticed that first cold spot you used while practicing standard Klaww Skip. Cool as fuck. Beast run man 💯
Yeah I think it wasn't that rare for people to try jumping onto the platforms in the lava casually. This skip was actually the first one I ever found on my own (although it was already known in the community).

I've watched people run Any% over and over again and once I get an idea in my head I tend to stick with it lol. Not really spoken to anyone about it either but maybe should knock off some of the major skips for now. Can do Boulder/Klaww Skip pretty consistently and nearly halfway there with FCS and LTS, but both are significantly more difficult to learn of course so could come back to them later. Will check out the discord, cheers! 👍
it took me months to beat this game when this guy beats it in 15 minutes wtf??? well it took me months cuz i was stuck on the last boss and i will play it every now and then just to try beat the last boss and then i turn it off when i die lol :D this was one of the hardest game i had on ps2 lol :D
Amazing work bro. That was so exciting to watch. However Josh's former wr seemed way cleaner in his movement. Did that first phase skip really make that much difference?
No. The skip if done perfectly saves 12/13 seconds, in this run it saved 10. I don't think his run is much cleaner than mine at all. Neither are close to flawless.
The first time I am doing what is called an 'Idle Storage', the second time it is an 'Idle Deload'. All you really need to know about both is that I'm standing still for 30 seconds waiting for Jak's idle animation to play (a little animation that plays when Jak hasn't moved for a while). This animation does more than just visibily make Jak shift around, and it is important to how I spawn on the zoomer half way through Lava Tube. You won't ever really see the animation since in the first case I move almost immediately, and in the second case it never plays other than Jak twitching slightly.
It's a side-effect of skipping the boss fight. The camera stays locked on to Klaww, but facing forward still since you're on the zoomer, so it keeps bouncing around as Klaww moves around and your angle to him changes as you drive through the Pass.
Nah, it ain't dead until mah boi OutrageousJosh makes it dead. I hope you give him many months of motivation to beat this likewise outrageous run. Fucking spectacular it was.
I don't expect this category to be dead any time soon, there's still plenty that can be added in but it's just not easy. It will be a while before we actually run out of ways to improve the run outside of shaving off a second at a time.

Yes.
Specifically it's a side effect of doing '1st Phase Klaww Skip', instead of the slower but easier version that you'll see in other runs.
