It didn't. This skip is only possible in the August Prototype build of the game. The Release Build (which is what speedrunners usually play) has this skip patched.

At 1:05 I’m pretty sure you can roll jump in between that machinery on the left and make it to the ledge. I’ve never timed it but it could be a time save to diagonally cut across.
Everything up until that hoverboard headtruck mentalist psych jump looked reasonably doable (at least it seemed) but that Tony Hawk kinda move transformed it into retry hell Props to all Jak runners and the great speed run history this game has written ❤️

Wait, Peacemaker could be charged to be stronger in that build? That's the only difference I spotted apart from Construction Site Skip and different Dark Eco meter
This is actually something that's possible in the Release Build as well. I think it's done by cancelling a spin attack by holding the fire button. The game will "stack" multiple Peacemaker Charges on top of each other and fire them all at once.
I’m hella confused watched a heap of Jak 1 runs but never much 2 as it’s a longer run which it’s any% isn’t a broken. Am I now understanding that it’s been broken finally. If so that’s awesome and go you legend
It's exactly one week older than the final build. most differences are minor. The only major one is construction site can load the cutscene to skip the game
