    I'm dumbfounded as to how few Ryzen overclocking guides are understandable. This is the first one I've found in days that does by actually showing someone changing the settings in real time. Every other video on TH-cam just says "now go into your BIOS and increase your clock speed" That doesn't help me. This video however, did. Thank you for making this video. Still useful years later!

    I tried 3066 on my MSI with the ram and it was unstable, I checked the Corsair Vengeance settings and its tested to 3000 at 1.35v so I disabled any automatic ram settings and manually set it to 1.35v and 3000mhz. works very well. currently using software to find a nice CPU sweet spot and then I will apply those settings to the bios when I know more about it. That's why videos like this are helpful so thank you.

      Dawid Does Tech Stuff: You're welcome! But I'm having an issue. When I go to VDDCR CPU Voltage, it only gives me the auto and offset mode. There's no manual option. How do I actually change the voltage?

    • @DawidDoesTechStuff
      @DawidDoesTechStuff  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      kelly mclean sorry for the late reply, I was at work. :P
      That's weird, there should also be a manual setting. I just went through the settings and I couldn't find a combination of settings that didn't give me the manual voltage setting.
      Do you have the B350 version of the motherboard, maybe its locked on that chipset?

      I use the b350-f by asus and i think you're right about the option being locked. Well it's not locked just not available on b350. I found another video who has the same motherboard/bios. Basically I learned I have to work with the offset mode, which makes it a little confusing but not impossible. Thanks a lot for the reply btw!

    How about C-States or Core Performance boost, would turning them off increase the stability of the OC? I've been able to hit 4750MHZ with 1.39v but I feel it might be a bit too high (might decrease the longevity of the CPU). I'm wondering if turning those off could help me keep the frequency but lower the voltage a bit.

      Mustafa Iraq Thank you for the comment. I'll try and help as best I can. I was using a Ryzen 1700x for the video. Overclocking the 2400g is interesting because it is the graphics card and the CPU. The CPU part you overclock in the bios in the same way I showed in the video. With the 2400g you can go to about 3.9ghz. With the temperature try stay below 70 degrees celsius. With the graphics card part of the 2400g apparently it will go to about 1400mhz on the core.
      I hope this helps, if you need need any more help just let me know and I will do my best to help.

    • @mustafairaq6586
      @mustafairaq6586 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dawid Does Tech Stuff BTW the ryzen 5 2400g max turbo freq is 3900. Isn't suppose to get more than that freq since the Cpu can reach it by it self without oc?

    • @DawidDoesTechStuff
      @DawidDoesTechStuff  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mustafa Iraq That is a good point, the thing is that the boost clock changes, the clock goes up and down. If you overclock to 3.9ghz in the BIOS it will always be running at that speed. You will get about 10% more performance with a manual overclock. (this is from reviews)

    • @DawidDoesTechStuff
      @DawidDoesTechStuff  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the polite message. So I turn EPU power off and with performance bias I leave it on auto. If you don't want to spend to much time on overclocking you could just use TPU I. With that the motherboard will find a good overclock for your system without you having to do much.

      Hello Greg. I'm sure you would be able to use it, G skill kits seem to have good compatibility with ryzen. Although it also depends on what motherboard you want to use. When you decide on a motherboard go look on its Web page, it should tell you which kits are compatible and how fast they would be able to run on the motherboard. Even if they have different trident z kits listed yours should still work (maybe at lower speeds though). I hope this helps.

      Dawid Does Tech Stuff:And thank you for the quick reply, i almost bought an Asus Rog Strix B350-f Gaming, just to pair it with the Ryzen 7 1700. But i quickly learned that my current motherboard will support the Ryzen 7 1700. But i Do Like the Asus Rog Strix B350-f Gaming, just from reviews and i like Asus, i only have gigabyte, cuz it was a Pre-Build Buy Gaming PC with the Gigabyte motherboard already installed, and that is why i would like to replace the mobo but wouldn't make sense right, well thank you again

    Ok,so I can go to 3900ghz and what about the voltage? Besides should I use pro cooling system like air cool system from coolermaster or water system? Or it is enough to use the normal fan it came with the Cpu box itself?

      Mustafa Iraq Hello, sorry about that. I didn't get a TH-cam notification for your new comments.
      As far as getting faster memory stable, the newest BIOS version of the motherboard is way more stable with faster memory, so try that. The thing with first generation Ryzen is that it isn't very good at supporting very fast memory speeds (anything about 3200MHz might be very difficult)
      See how much of a difference the BIOS makes.
      Sorry again for the late reply.

      When it comes to cooling, for small overclocks the normal one should be fine, but if you start overclocking the CPU and the GPU on the 2400G it might be too much for the normal fan and a better cooler would help. What case do you have?

      As far as voltages go, like I said I the video you can leave it on auto, but if you want it to use lower voltages you can put them in yourself. You can start with 1.35v, if it is stable then you can use that. If it crashes you can take it up a bit. Try to keep it below 1.4v, it isn't too bad going higher but it is always better having it lower.

    Could someone help me with a ram issue please? I have this exact motherboard. I'm using vengeance lpx ddr4 2x16gb 3200mhz, but in bios it sets my mhz way lower. If I set my ram to 3200mhz manually then reboot, the computer doesn't boot and I get ram light yellow and ram issue beeps. At this point I'm forced to remove battery from motherboard to reset bios before it'll boot again. What's going on here?

    bought the FlarX Memory Ram 3200MHz this was specifically for The Ryzen platform, well "supposedly was to be Set at 32ooMhz by default, and it wasn't so. i then went to the Bios, to set the memory frequency to 3200MHz cuz it was running only 2400MHz when i first installed thin. Well, i set the D.O.C.P. profile, saved and exit, well after running a game it crashes, i was furious. i tried it all, i still do not understand why flarX Memory ram which is for Ryzen didn't properly work, have the Asus ROG Strix B350-f- Gaming Motherboard Ryzen 7-1800X CPU, and a Zotac GTX 1660 but B4 that GPU i had a GTX FE 1070 which i somehow manage to ruin trying to put a cooler to it. i never over clock my whole set up, i just don't know the Voltage part as well as the rest, but my main concern is the voltage as to why i haven't OC nothing but the Ram or tried.

      U missing out on possible really important/good updates. Like my motherboard for example. Rog Crosshair Formula VIII X570. The title of my latest bios update is NEW CPU SUPPORT. so I can go from Ryzen 3000 to Ryzen 5000. I use to not update any bios back in the day bc u can run into a issue and not get back up. But this new awesome stuff u can do a flash back and go back to a old bios is a new one don’t work. But I have only updated my bios 3 times since I had it. It’s crazy they come out with this many updates.
