Bhai ne net se dekh ke bta diya, everyone knows ssd slow kyu hai m1 had dual ssd even in base 256gb variant but m2 has dual ssd in 512gb variant, and that too only makes difference only in reading writing like when exporting larger files, day to day task mein it won’t make much of a difference.

Yo, I purchased MacBook M2 in August 2022 and Today is 7 Jan 2023. I haven't experienced any lag or inefficiency so far. I am not regretting on purchasing this product. Totally worth it.

Guys the M2 base variant (256gb) has a single 256gb NAND instead of 2x128gb like the base M1. So actually, it is 50% slower than the old model. If you get the 512gb variant, there is no difference
Difference won't be noticeable in day-to-day use. Latency is the same for both. Therefore, the speed difference will only become apparent when you're copying hundreds of gigabytes of files.

I use iMac for music production and I recently bought MacBook Air M2 to carry my projects around while travelling. I use Logic Pro X with a minimum of 100 tracks running simultaneously in each project and I haven’t felt even a slight hint of lag. Besides, I use high memory consuming plug-ins in most of the tracks 🤷🏽♂️ I would rank it as the best Macbook in budget

SSD is much slower due to single nand flash used for base variants. It can't Parallelly write into it as fast as M1 Air which uses 2 or 4 Nand flash to achieve 256gb storage. Difference is very high person who works on heavy tasks will definitely experience it daily for normal users it doesn't matter but then again fi your usage is normal then why waste 20k and still get M1 Air anyway. M2 pro cost same as m2 air in India just get that it's better due to being pro variant to apple hasn't done shenanigans like "you want faster storage then pay us for 512gb storage" m2 pro also doesn't have artificial restriction of single external display output. Has bigger battery has fan which makes it 15-20% faster in sustained loads and still keeps the laptop cooler
The SSD speed doesn't have an effect on your day to day usage, which is random read writes. Only on large sequential transfers does it make an effect. Random read writes are faster. The number of nand chips doesn't matter because these aren't in any RAID configuration (which would've required additional controllers)
