Chigg, you are the best! Even though things don't go as planned, you always have heart and deal with it smoothly. If only I could be like you! Thank you for sharing your Harbor Freight journey and I wish you the best!

Buy once cry once is the best way to go. You buy cheap with anything like this and not only does it break but it messes up whatever you’ve got in tow too. (Also potentially other vehicles)
Those 'one of everything' tools are incredibly useful in a pinch, whether for Allen keys or others. Right along with a trusty Swiss Army knife and kin, they're the kind of tool you use because you need it at that point in time, and the nearest properly equipped workshop is many kilometres away. Glad to see you got that carrier fixed up, though it's still somewhat concerning to see it wobble like that :)
That's one of the pleasures of off road adventuring! Those sudden opps! That didn't sound good moments. Handled it like a boss Beau. Hope the rest of your trip is smooth sailing. And I hope things are home are good. That flood was nasty.
These types of hitch attachments never work out long term. The receiver puts a lot of stress on the metal and it eventually breaks. That's why i like the 3 point ones where they give you the option to either use the rails up top on the roof or stabilizers off the bolts that hold the hitch bar on, making kinda like a "shelf" out of it.
Hey, I had a 1994 version of that bike. It was black, blue and purple so it matched my 1992 F-150 Nite package to a tee. It never fell out of the truck though.
Looks like you need a Fork Support Tie Down Strut Adjustable Block to stop your front suspension being fully compressed. Great if your front forks are under pressure for so long.
Very nice! I am tempted to go buy one of these tomorrow to haul my first motorcycle. I just looked at it today and I am in love but I was trying to get the logistics of hauling it figured out
I am very curious how the motorcycle carrier works out, because at some point I'm hoping to get a dirtbike and take a long time on the road. Having a motorcycle on board along for the journey would just be so useful in so many ways I imagine.
Siren in the background and Aqua says, " There are a lot of people that look more homeless than I do". Survival instincts on alert. The message is there is a homeless problem. A lot of homeless got stuck because of addiction. Some will do whatever it takes to get their fix. But not all. Some are simply life travelers. Stay safe everyone. Happy Thanksgiving. Gobble gobble.
I had a nightmare once. My room was built underground and completely dark during the day and i usually kept a black light on..... when I woke up for some reason I looked under my pillow and there was a scorpion glowing. Kinda freaky especially since I never dream or don't remember them anyway
Oh no dude. The problem with Harbor Freight stuff is the quality control sucks so bad, you never know if you've got garbage welds or garbage metal that you're trusting. You already know that though am I right. When we haul small motorcycles off the hitch we actually use one of the ones that are intended for mobility chairs, it seems like they're very serious about quality because of the extreme liability that comes with it. They also have built in ramps, sometimes hitch baskets don't have that unless they're intended for mopeds/dirt bikes/quads/atvs.
I have 40k and four years on my HF motorcycle carrier. Also, other companies sell the exact model that HF does(Black Widow 600lb carrier is one). I doubt these companies would want liability problems, by selling dangerous carriers🤷♂️.
That's s very long trip! We'll, hits close to home, live in a smallish town up by the Canadian border in montana. Closest almost anything I s in Great Falls, 2 hrs or 3 hrs each way ...more in blizzards...
I never thought I would live to see the day that the Chiggs did an unboxing video!! Man, that really sucked though... taking a full day and all that expensive gasoline. I'm afraid I would be cursing too much to make a video, so you did well.
Wondering if you’ve had any issues 6 months later?? I am about to go pick one up tomorrow. Getting a bigger bike soon sold the aluminum one they had to upgrade to this!
I would NEVER have the 🏀🏀to be out in the Mohave at night!! That’s insane! I’m from Arizona and I’ve heard some stories about that desert. Lots of people gone missing out there to never be heard from again.
I have a GMC 3500 Sierra and the hitch is kinda high so I purchased a Gen-Y drop hitch receiver to lower my rack, making it easier to load and unload. I got the Gen-Y because I was worried about the bouncing creating dynamic increases in torque/tongue weight. The Gen-Y is rated for 1500 lbs tongue weight. After seeing this, I can't help but think that I should have gotten theire more expensive model that has torsion flex to damper the bouncing, since my rear springs are so stiff.
That's a complete different design than the one I bought from Harbor Freight over a year ago. Mine has the steel square tubing that comes straight out from the receiver. The cross piece, that the bike sits on is all aluminum. Mine does not have what you called the front wheel chalk. Your's by the photos seems to be all steel. I think they copied one called black widow. OR, HF is actually selling the black widow. Thanks for sharing - Jim
A quick question..... doesnt your rear licence plate need to be visible (on your car) because it cannot be seen with the bike and other stuff on the rear of the car. Most countries you would get a ticket/ fine for not having it displayed.
Attention attention don't let it break again it could be disastrous people could lose their lives take another piece of square stock steel and slide it inside the the square tube that runs from the receiver under your motorcycle hauler welded in by the ends and reinforce it😮 I'm glad I seen the video it's a huge warning to anybody to reinforce that hitch or use thicker stock to begin with and customize it slide in other piece of square stock in side the other tube
I’ve seen how you drive if you say it held up it’s bullet proof and you got a good one probably 1 in 50 survive more than a week next time have Amazon deliver it to you …lolol what’s in the box…. What’s in the box…. Stay away John Doe has the upper hand… happy thanksgiving chig thanks for sharing see you on the next one 👍🏼👊🏼

Yes you are so inspirational! I'm learning to ask myself, how would Chig handle this?

Oh my nenith Chigg,😏 that looks like a job for 😳Tod...?🤷♂️🤦♂️
It looks like a pretty good bike rack . Thanks as always for sharing the adventure with us.
Loving your videos from rainy Scotland.
I've lived in So Calif since 1950 and began desert camping in 1952. Indio has been an "arm pit" city all this time.
He’s such a honey badger. Nothing ever beats the Chigg. …just make the repair and get back to the work at hand. 😊
I would think that having it break there was a blessing. Imagine the alternative may have been 65+ mph down a highway with a car riding your bumper.
Buy once cry once is the best way to go. You buy cheap with anything like this and not only does it break but it messes up whatever you’ve got in tow too. (Also potentially other vehicles)
Harbor Freight owes you a shopping spree. I'm glad to see you got it fixed.

I’ve used them in my car , they come in handy
As always thank you for sharing 👍
Well designed I reckon. Looks great.
Have fun, be careful, thanks for the video.
Always love your videos Chigg

BRIGHT SPOT CHIG: you got to enjoy that gorgeous desert sunrise!treat for us viewers too.
Great job Chig, you made that look easy. I love that you recycle stuff as well. Like milk crates. 😉👍
I thought this stuff only happened to po' me. Thanks for your contribution !
That's one of the pleasures of off road adventuring! Those sudden opps! That didn't sound good moments. Handled it like a boss Beau. Hope the rest of your trip is smooth sailing. And I hope things are home are good. That flood was nasty.
Thank you Chigg for filling the gaps in the desert adventure. I thought you had to put the bike on top of the topper:)
That is a nice ramp sorry you had to get a new one hope you do get some rest
Thank you ,Sir
Chigg I hope you and your wife and family have a wonderful Thanksgiving. To everyone else as well. Hope it's memorable and fun and yummy ☺️

Looking forward to more videos Chigg thank you for this video!

Pfft. Had mine over 6 years now. Never used it, but it's still like new.😁
@@Fried-Pig-Nipples Its amazing how that works, isn't it?
An engineer would always triangulate
To be fair, he admittedly was on a four-wheeler trail😂. I probably have 40k miles and four years on my motorcycle carrier(not off-roading of coarse).
Oh man !…somehow you always turn it around ! You give me hope to carry on ! Thanks !
Beautiful shot of the sunrise in the morning I live in the city and I haven't seen that in years it was fantastic
Happy to hear you enjoyed it.
Good afternoon from Southeast South Dakota
Good fix and share on the harbor fright review of the motor bike rack.
🌵🌵👍🥱 Just love early starts !
Reporting in.

Thanks for the video. Hell of a story!

Happy Thanksgiving Chigg. Glad you had an upload. Sorry about that breakdown. I love it out west. Love it here in Tennessee. Love it sea to sea.
Thanks that was educational!
Yikes! Scorpions! Be safe!

Sorry you had trouble , hope you have a amazing thanksgiving
Chigg....you seem to follow my mantra- "It's always something, it's never nuthin!"
Great job chigg stay safe buddy
First. Howdy chigg
Great video, Happy Thanksgiving
Looks good
Hey, chigg happy thanks giving from phoenix az

watch out for Rattlers Chiggster!
Time to add a welder to your travel tool arsenal! I kid, but that would be cool.
Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching.
Nice video good work
At least it didn’t fall off running 70 down the highway.
Scorpions are very scary to me. I would have wanted to leave that spot too. Thanks for the video! 👍
Scorpions are only dangerous if you annoy them. Leave them alone and they'll leave you unharmed. I was stung by one in the 1950's because I teased it.
I had a nightmare once. My room was built underground and completely dark during the day and i usually kept a black light on..... when I woke up for some reason I looked under my pillow and there was a scorpion glowing. Kinda freaky especially since I never dream or don't remember them anyway

Chigg I’m amazed that your truck is still running. Time for a new one ?
Its from the constant rocky roads. Need to use straps to a roof rack to take off the load some. Not for off road use
They have a really good garage stand for motorcycle's as well. Park your bike on it, and dolly it around like nobody's business 🙂
Am i first? :> love u chigg keep up the adventure
Harbor Freight has saved my backside more than once!
I earned my off-road bike badge on an old Yamaha XT 500, helluva machine! Just wondering what model yours is, Chigg.
👊🤩👍
I never thought I would live to see the day that the Chiggs did an unboxing video!!
Man, that really sucked though... taking a full day and all that expensive gasoline. I'm afraid I would be cursing too much to make a video, so you did well.
It was diesel though.
A little squirt of silicon caulk in the hole before you stick it in and things are a lot quieter.
Wondering if you’ve had any issues 6 months later?? I am about to go pick one up tomorrow. Getting a bigger bike soon sold the aluminum one they had to upgrade to this!

Hobo Freight quality isn't the best but it is improved from 10+ years ago. You have to be selective, but can't beat the value.
Be careful Chigg GOD BLESS
Never buy anything from HF where a failure could cause the death of you or your m/c...Love the channel!!
Grab a black light flashlight. Scorpions glow green! 👍 😃
The old one was buried in the desert for a metal detectorist to find a hundred years from now. Kidding, I know Chigg will fix it or add to scrap pile.
Good thing, you didn't lose it on highway.

Was wondering what you did to remedy it. Knowing me I would be beefing it up. Glad it worked out ok. Happy Thanksgiving Chigg.
Chigg,
That was a bother but at least there was a place you go to to get a new carrier.
Later, Dood:)
Rik
Thanks, I have been looking for a heavy duty motorcycle rack. I'm getting the harbor freight 600 lbs rack.
The one I bought is a great deal and I'd buy it again.
Nice bike mount 👍 I want to get one that can hold a snowblower 😁 Guess I'll check harbor freight 😆
Check out the bike hauler that cycle gear sells .
That's a complete different design than the one I bought from Harbor Freight over a year ago. Mine has the steel square tubing that comes straight out from the receiver. It worked very well and I am still using it. Can recommend.

Dang brother hope the bikes alright
Diesel nearly as expensive as here in the UK!
How’s it holding up now days?
Have they only just got hex head screws in the US?
No
They should be outlawed they are terrible
Assuming you stashed the bike in the desert while going to get the new carrier? Glad the Uhaul folks didn't find it! lol
Is that the 400lb or 600lb carrier ? Thanks
Did you leave the motorcycle their?
There?
🖤
What part of Maryland are you from?
I’ve seen how you drive if you say it held up it’s bullet proof and you got a good one probably 1 in 50 survive more than a week next time have Amazon deliver it to you …lolol what’s in the box…. What a long trip💔for that
Ok So It's Not Just Me That Has Luck Like That . Good To No. 😉👍✌
You. The. Man. God. B. You. 1
DMC - Dig More Coins, dammit!
Hey Chigg wow you have luck like me
Hex screws and bolts are the WORST!

What brand carrier was that so we can stay away? Haha
