- This was probably the most honorable challenging experience I have ever gone through in Tera, my First clear for Harrowhold 30 man raid phase 4 (Dec. 4th, 2016). This was also AV's first group to clear as well. I made a lot of mistakes like dying to fire walls and while having aggro, it's not good to go too far from boss. Sowie about the wide camera view at that time. Somehow I ended up getting 5 stacks on aggro I think due to aggro bug. Things got a little weird there at the end, such as the dragon turning and we managed to stay calm and work it out. Also my ping wasn't as great :c

This is can only be cleared with a full guild skilled or group of friends.

Luiz Canguini thanks, this was way back when hh was introduced. Yeah unfortunately you'd need specific dedicated group of ppl and can be hard to find. Instance matching would be impossible.
Feazes Hero "way back when" I started tera back in vm1 days. I reactivated my account to still find this game was easier than what it was when I left it. It's honestly sad because i use to enjoy this game. Anyway a few of my old build members got together with and cleared this instance in no time.
Unfortunately I don’t know anyone who keeps playing Tera. 😅

SourGame plays It already takes forever to get into a dungeon of item level 410.
Few questions, what kind of monsterous pc do you have, and second, how do you add consumables tab next to ppwers, and also how do you have those colored directions of the enemy attack (like when he is about to atack, the floor glows, or it flows behind him, etc) please?
My pc isn't as monsterous but my specs are: I5 5500K 3.2GHZ, 16 GB memory, 8 GB AMD Radeon RX 480. A lot of the game mostly depends on cpu due to bad design which doesn't take full capability of even the best pc's out there. Most of it to get it to work, is through some tweaks. There are guides out there for that. The colored directions are part of the boss's mechanics. The consumables, I assume you mean the one on the side of the screen, there is a way to add that by pressing the + sign near the main skills area shortcut tray. Then drag whatever from inventory to that extended shortcut tray.
I've been playing ffxiv for more than 4 years but this looks damn fun tbh.

Why did they take it out of the game?
From my understanding, I think they took it out so they can balance it and bring it back as 20 man instead of 30 man. I think there will be newly added mechanics on top of the already many mechanics. Also they will have chance for everyone with vm9 to retool to vm9.5.
Well I look forward to clear this dungeon someday. But I'm missing way to much game understanding and mechanics to get there now. I'll have to take my time :D
Yeah that is good, need to go through the end game experience to get good practice, very good motive before engaging harrowhold. To me from my experience, harrowhold was the hardest content I've ever done.

Most of the raid were from Indepedent while about I'd say around 6-7 people are from different guilds.
He looks so cool I’d love him as a mount or pet haha, dragons prophet allows for some really cool looking dragons, but nothing quiet like this. Puts my GW2 mount skins to shame XD.
Ive heard that Tera died out and that you cant queue with ppl for dungeons. Is that still the case or tings changed? I would love to play this game
What you hear might be true but I wouldn't believe it. Some people take breaks and some quit but eventually come back. Lot of it could be because of lack of content. We're kind of near the end phase of a patch and getting a new patch next week which is the godsfall patch. 7 classes will get awakening and I think this will bring a lot of people back. There's also new dungeons coming later and possibly getting dreadspire (tower) back too. This person in Ktera streams here: th-cam.com/video/fx9pIa7-3vg/w-d-xo.htmlh21m10s. I usually don't queue but yes I hear that queue time is long. This is across all servers. Unless your a tank or healer, as a dps your queue can be long. Usually the role that is missing is a tank and/or healer. Tanks are more hard to find mostly they are in static groups or guild. It's best to find a good guild and play with people through lfg also.

I am a hardcore WoW player. I am looking for other MMOs, heard about Tera, what are the raid bosses like, here ? Are there any hard bosses like the lich king or ragnaros or something ? Raid bosses requiring split second decisions and insane coordinations ??
The only raid boss at the moment is what you see here. The boss name is Vergos, splits into 4 phases and requires lots of teamwork and communication. Yes there are hard mode dungeons that test a player's skill and understanding of their class. Tera is coming with a new patch next week, which is the godsfall patch. This is where 7 classes will get awakening and I believe new dungeons will come later too. There is also a tower called Dreadspire, which will be making its return maybe sometime later this year? It consists of 22 floors, and each floor is a boss and difficulty gets higher. Right now it made return in Korean Tera after not being available for a long time. Usually Ktera gets their content first before NA tera gets theirs. This is one of the streamers who stream currently in Ktera: th-cam.com/video/fx9pIa7-3vg/w-d-xo.htmlh21m10s, and can see which boss they fight. It is so difficult at the moment right now in Ktera, not many parties can pass once they reach the 3rd or 4th boss. Fail a boss and it goes back to the beginning. I personally love dreadspire. It really tests a player's skill and requires split second decisions at times. Also it's a 10 minute timer, so high dps and a good tank is needed.

Did they get rid of raids.. or this instance? Im 433 never seen this?
If you're on console, then this instance hasn't come yet. If you're on pc, yes it's still there. There are raids already there depending on which server you're on, not something that ppl will LFG for. For example I'm on AV and there are at least 3-4 static groups clearing every week. Other servers like MT and TR have more groups. The instance is much easier due to the awakening of some of the classes and buffs.

That's unfortunate. Yeah I don't know much about FF but I do know that was the server they created for the merge I believe. And due to the current situation, population decreased on most servers, even in AV. Lot of people either quit the game, or just server transferred to MT/TR. I lost a lot of good friends from AV :(. There is only 1 group on AV who is clearing it while another group who is starting to get close to clearing it. But I think most people have groups on TR and MT since so many transferred lately. I also think due to the current content of the game, some have been lost motivation to playing the game. As much as I love the game, I just hope they do something in the future to bring people back. But there have been big issues such as the lag/ping spikes in game and stuff like that.
So does this include mechanics and stuff similar to destiny's raids?

I hoped mmo dungeon bosses would adapt the "log horizon" mechanics. Where the boss targets specific targets depending on damage delt, heals done, buffs cast etc......
Usually the bosses do target different people, although not dependent on what you mention but it's more towards randomness where the player is thinking on their feet when those things occur. Mostly the tank gets attention throughout the fight but bosses to tend to target specific people all the time. Every boss is different however with their own mechanics and things like that.
yeah sadly log horizon is just a dream for mmo's no actual mmo is good these days most are absolute fucking shit tera included

Did I get too pampered with guild wars 2 raids, final fantasy xiv raids and monster hunter world mechanics? Or is Tera just showing it's age as a game?
Well tera has been out since 2008 and it has survived this far. But the game has been a bit less active lately, mostly due to same content longevity, lack of pvp content, optimization issues and other things. I personally love this game because of the combat and fun factor when fighting the big bams but it has been a tough hill to climb this past year or so. Good news is that more classes are getting awakened later and also there is a server merge coming I think next month, so that may revive the population a bit more.

Boss swings that way because it's part of it and there are people on the side of his paws.
Oh I just mean that they aren't even hitting it. The head is so high. If they were underneath for example and hitting from underneath I'd understand. Just wish they made terra a little bit more realistic because of the awesome graphics.

Well its not good to judge actually until someone tries the game for themselves. Quite surprisingly many older people play the game. Game is kind of advertised toward mostly female characters. The game is not for kids, I've met people who are older in their 30's and 40's who have been playing for years even myself. Pretty sure its the same thing in other mmo's.

Heard that this one supposed to be like crazy hard to do. I haven't tried or done this mission myself yet but from looking at how the boss attacks It doesn't look that hard.
Yep it is pretty difficult. Most difficult part is getting 30 people to participate and commit. It may seem easy but it takes a lot of wipes at first to learn a lot of the mechanics. This group that I'm in, we always have same every week. But if it were to join pug and people keep dropping or new ppl join, it will be impossible to clear. In terms of difficulty, I have to say this is much more difficult than rmhm. As long as the person knows their class well and can carry their own weight with 29 other people, should be okay. Just communication and learning are the most important. Most people in this party and myself had extensively researched before we tried but we wiped a lot and that's part of the learning.
Most of us already were in vm gear, so a bit more survival but still one mistake can one shot even plate classes. There is a bit of communication needed on phase 3 and 4 mostly between tanks and also when the cleanses occur under 50 percent hp at phase 4. Things like if cleanse wrong order or if someone picks mote up during cleanse phase or simply missing one shield, it can wipe entire party.
Most issue for me was the right things, watch out for flames, keep eye on aggro counter and other things. It does get easier when trying and clearing every week but unfortunately there aren't many who are clearing. On my server there is only one group who is consistently clearing and they have alternate raids as well. There is also one more party who are at phase 3 and I don't think there are any others atm. Most people transfer to MT, leaving AV very less populated. In 1st week there were may groups but nowadays almost no one forms a group. For most people cannot even pass phase 1. And today's patch update they released, it supposed to be buffed now. From what I see, it will be more difficult. I'll be honest, it took a lot of focus and I sacrificed a lot of sleep during my 1st week to learn this..I'd say about 3 or 4 days of staying up very late just to get a chance to learn.

it was great at that time but Sadly this content is much easier now with awakening and better gears. Nowaday's It takes mere 50 seconds to clear this phase now and most are in slaying setup. This was recorded when this content first came out in December 2016, and at that time it was challenging. It's a 20 man raid now but whole lot easier. Item level doesn't really matter much nowaday's, that is mostly for if queuing dungeons. But as a new player this type of content looks exciting.
@goeysaucebossxl915 The only smelly person from Inde guild is Fee. She never bathes and it smells worse than anchovies down there.

If you're fortunate to meet good people and run stuff together, it will be well worth it. I thought I read the console version may not get the same content we currently have or maybe it's just for the beta version. Either way, however, once you reach level 65, that's where the real gameplay begins unlike other MMO's. You'd want to check out essential mana website as they have a lot of tips for gear and progression once reaching level 65, however I'm not sure what content will come on console version if would be same what PC has or will they give the older content first and work their way up with everyone new playing.
Most of the ppl who left AV went to FF or MT,example of one pvp guild where i was and some pvp players who wasn't part of that guild but still were pvp players,all of them went on FF because cu,gvg,vo big outlaw fights are really fun there playing,so i gave you the reason why is there no pvp players on AV,but for others idk why they left.

This looks easy as fuck don't know why all the hype is about for this when they cheered at the end for killing it, the mechanics are nothing alike I've seen through my experiences.
Well it's because when spending 7-10 hours to clear all 4 phases in a total span of 3 days, that's why everyone was happy. It was a brand new dungeon that a lot of people were waiting on for months prior and to clear it, it felt like a great accomplishment that not many people get to enjoy tbh. Everyone in the raid put in the work sacrificing their sleep and time during the 1st week. Sure it looks easy but when trying it just like any new dungeon that comes out, it's a whole different ball game. Not many raids cleared in the 1st few weeks. Yes it was that difficult and many raids gave up or people transferred to other servers. Getting 30 people to commit every week is another challenge and managing it as well. The 20 man version which we had for last few months, is much harder than the 30 man, that I will agree with. One death in phase 4 (spawns skeletons) can really wipe the raid in most instances, which did not exist in the 30 man version.
Well if you experienced harrowhold already as a skilled player, I'd agree that the 30 man harrowhold was very easy. But I will disagree with your view if you never ran it ever.

It may look boring but once someone tries it, it's better to do that before judging. Not many people can go in and clear right away. There is so much involved in a team raid to clear this boss when its their first time, my 2cents.
i know it's hard to programm an big enemy in an mmo ... but this is lame ... just for example, look on guildwars 2: th-cam.com/video/-iQrlvtayJk/w-d-xo.html. They do it much better.

Well what's different in tera unlike other MMo's is the combat system, which is live combat. That's the main thing that got me in the game back in 2014 is how all the big bosses fights are, which we refer to as b.a.m.s. (big ass monsters) and I get what you're talking hmm, no problem :). But yeah you can tell Bluehole Studios because they are the one's who developed this game and the community has been asking for last 6 years for game optimization and sooo many other things. I respect your opinion. I never played guild wars but been playing tera for a long time. Every mmo has its differences.

Also how in hell did you do to gather 30 people?? because these days its impossible to even gather 10 lol, 30 must be an impossible task. Anyways, terrible fight. I hate monsters so big that you cant even see your own character because you need to zoom all the way out. But i guess people love to smash buttons senseless and just see tiny special effects in the screen far before trying to actually get fun lol.
Why is combat and boss fights such pile of poop in MMO's? Only VIndictus and PSO2 managed to be decent, but still a joke compared to masterpieces such as Monster Hunter, Nioh, DMC5...
