It's self learnt or I learn from the Net or TH-cam. TH-cam is an amazing source or information that's why I make videos its nice to give something back. I dont know what rust bullet is. Try looking at de-rusting with electrolysis.
How did you learn to do all this stuff? What could someone do if they didn't have a vat of "molasses" and wanted to do it on their own? I just watched a video where someone used muratic(sp) acid to remove rust on a moto gas tank (dangerous stuff). Also, would it be problematic if you put something like Rust Bullet on the axle first and then put the red oxide on over it?
Nice video! Why did you concentrate on the one you had to patch? In the video the other one looked to be the better axle to me. I have an old axle I am restoring and modifying to fit my vehicle, and it was bear blasted and came out great. I primed it and will paint it soon. Very rewarding work. Thumps up and subbed!
+Holton 345 I was selling one. the other that I patched was off the series I have. Not a problem as the thing has been rebuilt all new bearing and stuff. the diff pan is going to be hand made with thick steel.
Should have left it in longer and then used phosphoric acid with zinc phosphate to stop the flash rusting. KBS coatings and POR make the stabiliser. No need for all that wire brushing before or after. Sand blasting is fine for heavier gauge steel and the impatient but its an added cost and the media will not always clean in the finest pittings
You have to appreciate the detail in that work, Landy's deserve it
First class. Wish I could have found someone like you when I was doing the rolling refurb on my 88, your work ethic is superb.
Good job bro. I believe you saved that from it’s next trip being a junk yard
Isopon zinc 182 is another great primer.

Thats just the ticket, very nicely done.

what music was used for this video?

Thought it was primed after the blasting. Very odd. I think they put a thin coat down to stop is flash rusting.
why not just blast it ,,,, think you need a few more amps on your welder too .
but your patience is to be commended
