    I cannot tell how useful these videos are, you make it look easy, I suppose it is when you've done it a few times already but when you haven't... nightmare. Thank you.

    Thanks mate - helped me out today when I removed my dash. I have a 97 Defender 110 300tdi. The main difference for me was that there weren't screws on the gray plastic covering back of the tray area. They looked like smaller versions of the push in clips, but I couldn't shift them. Brute force in the end and they broke off! I need to completely remove my black under dash unit - you left it loose because you wanted to access just the wiring looms. I'm fixing some rust on the bulkhead so want a clean access and the only thing still connected is the heater control (left of steering wheel on RHD - hot/cold and vent up/down).

    Thank you, I really appreciate your videos… Tomorrow I will remove my 110s dash to make some maintenance of not the wiring but the mechanisms which open and close front air intake flaps… Hope you are doing well and make some new videos… Cheers…

    Hey at 4:25 was there more to removing the black plastic tray that exposes the final bolts tor the dash to drop? Mine won't come out.

      don't believe so.. Are you sure there's no wires across it... and no sign of glue around the edges? May need to force it or wedge it up??

    What I really need to know is how to replace the grey vented panel ! It came out with a bit of wiggling but for the life of me I can't get it back in . Any advice would be appreciated , thanks .

    does the dynamat makes a difference in noise ?

    • @RoamingTheOutback
      @RoamingTheOutback  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It helped a little when put on the firewall, but the most deadening came from the rest of the body. Road noise and stones hitting underneath were greatly diminished.

    I've actually been thinking about taking my whole dashboard off my defender 90 and going back to a bare dashboard like the series land rovers. Can't stand the plastic and it would make fixing the bulkhead and finding leaks much easier. Have you ever thought about doing this?

    • @RoamingTheOutback
      @RoamingTheOutback  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No Nick. I'm quite happy with the standard dash. It works well for my needs with the centre raptor dash mod.

    • @Nick-xc4fy
      @Nick-xc4fy 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RoamingTheOutback Fair enough. I have a raptor center dashboard like yours but haven't got around to fitting it yet. I'm thinking of taking all the plastics off the dash, and modifying the raptor units to fit to the bulkhead.
      The images and videos on your website are really useful! Cheers

      Thanks for your very good and informative lesson on how to remove the dash, I have been trying for a few weeks to find out where the bolts are and have asked lot of others who say they know , only to find they have got just as far as me.
      I will have the bottom of the dash off tomorrow and can look forward to starting my rebuild in a couple of week. Thanks again.

    • @RoamingTheOutback
      @RoamingTheOutback  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No sign of any faulty wires which was weird. I originally dislodged the short by pulling wires back and forth... Have a new wiper switch to replace just in case.
