Vw golf auto stuck in gear won’t start

Holy shit been trying to figure this out for weeks and just before I started taking the gearbox off I thought I'd do another search online and found your video.
A bit of electrical tape and new fuse and we're back in business. Seat quoted me 6.4k for a new dsg gearbox and mechatronic unit as they said that would fix the problem, 0.5 pence of leccy tape and were all good, all thanks to you!

If I break the hooks off the spade do you think that would effect anything

Probably won’t affect your shifting, may mean you can’t get it out of gear when stuck in park tho
