I've just made this cake. I have eaten many really good chocolate cakes in my life but since I became gluten intollerant, I've been having problems finding a good moist chocolate cake. This one is moist and rich but I halved the amount of sugar in the frosting. I always do this with American recipes. I have a feeling that in Europe we do not appreciate our sweets to be as sweet as in America. It is also the most expensive cake I have ever made because things like coconut sugar and almond flour are quite pricey in my country. Still, this is the best dairy-free gluten-free cake I have ever eaten and I love it. Thanks for the recipe!
Most of my adult life I’ve been in love with chocolate cake. I could honestly eat it for every meal the rest of my life. After being diagnosed with a few different autoimmune disorders I needed to go gluten free. This recipe is by far the best gluten free chocolate cake recipe on the planet. I’ve told my family when I die I’d like to be buried with a slice of this lol, that way if I don’t get into heaven, at least I’ll have a little slice of it with me for the rest of eternity wherever I do end up😂😂😂

I made this cake for a friend who is allergic to all grains and dairy, I was pretty skeptical about it and didn’t think it would be that good but holy crap it’s amazing! You can’t tell at all its grain free! My friend loved it so much and she made it again two days later because she was so excited to finally eat a yummy cake! Thank you for this recipe! Just made this cake for my sister (who can't have gluten or dairy) and WOW!!! The guests were absolutely blown away by it- it was super moist but perfectly spongy, and the 'buttercream' frosting was delicious! I was a bit worried about the number of coconut ingredients used but you can literally barely taste them, and while I debated between replacing the flours with a gluten-free flour blend, I'm glad I didn't because it might not have turned out so unbelievably decadent. I wish I could include a picture and give all of you a slice of it because it was really that good. 10/10 stars-!
I made this on Thursday last week, I was worried about the amount of coconut sugar used, found I only have two square tin! Duh huh! Adjusted the cooking time and had two beautiful sponge. Instead of making the frosting, I used your home made Nutella which I made two weeks ago. Also used raspberry jam. It has kept well in a air tight container all week, absolutely delicious. Definitely will be making that again. And I'm looking forward to having this when friends come to stay in a few weeks time. I will use your chai raspberry jam.
I made this wonderful chocolate cake 2 days ahead. I made 1 batch into a 12" springform pan (for a birthday cake) and to put in 3 small ramekins (so the 3 of us could have a taste the first day). It was good both times! I would never guess that the cake is gluten free. The texture is excellent and the flavor is good. I also made the frosting but only made 1/2 batch of it because my cake had just one layer and I read a lot of comments that it was quite rich. That amount of frosting worked well and was not too skimpy. I find Lisa's recipes very reliable and love the videos! I also like the ingredient product links and printable recipe. Sometimes the print is too small on the printable recipe though so I have to work on formatting them to print bigger :)

So I made this cake but subbed organic brown rice flour. That's all I could find at my local store. I made a cherry flavored cake, instead of a chocolate one and let me say.... this is, hands down, the best grain free recipe out there. The crumb was tender and moist. It was as if I was eating a flour based cake. I was shocked. You win. People should really give this recipe a try. Thank you so much.

This is a beautiful cake to eat. I am not a baker but I made it for my wife and it was easy to do. I watched the TH-cam clip for both the cake and the frosting. It turned out so well, everyone loved it. So moist!! The stand mixer made it so easy:)

I placed the solidified coconut oil in a pan of hot water and ta da ! It was liquified.
how long will the coconut cream stay outside the fridge? is it stable enough on room temperature?

Delicious, although I’m sure if the jam set properly, regardless it tastes beautiful with chocolate. Cuts through the caramel too. Going to get some muffins to have with jam. Wonder if you would make gluten free muffins?
