  • This gluten free chocolate cake recipe comes together so quickly, and is incredibly moist and fluffy! It's just as delicious as it is easy to make.
    When baking anything gluten free, remember to:
    1) Overmix your batter! Vigorously whisk your batter for a few minutes once it's made, to help give it structure
    2) Let your batter sit for about 30 minutes before baking to help the gluten free flour absorb more moisture from the batter

    I made this cake for my moms birthday and OMG not just the best GF chocolate cake but one of the best chocolate cakes overall we’ve ever had!! Thank you so much Chelsea 🙏
    One change that I did make was to the buttercream frosting, I added just 2 cups of powdered sugar and that was plenty sweet enough. I also used Dutch high fat cocoa powder in the batter

    Oh my gosh thank you Sssoooo Much for this recipe. I just made it as my husband is coeliac. It is AMAZING! Soooo moist and indulgent. He even high fived me it is that good 😅 I made a raspberry butter cream and did a dark chocolate ganache drip to decorate. Looked so pretty. Thank you again!

    I used your gf Chocolate cupcakes recipe (x3) for a 3 layer cake and it was Amazing!!! I seriously could not stop eating it. Noone could tell it was gf. I filled it with Chocolate ganache, chocolate pudding and your vanilla buttercream!!! Just an fyi for anyone looking for an Amazing recipe.

    Oh my gluten free God I just made this cake and cake I just say major foodgasm🤤🥰🥰🥰😋I made one change but I don’t think it affected the outcome I used 1 cup granulated sugar and 1 cup brown sugar. Btw I used King Arthur gluten free flour. Thanks sooo much for this recipe I really enjoyed it.

    Can you please help me with clarifying when you add melted choclate into a buttercream recipe what do you use. I go to the store and I never know what to get. I see obviously chocolate chips, bakers chocolate, the Ghirardelli melting wafers ect. What ones are best to buy for making a chocolate American buttercream ? Please help.. 🤷
    Second qyestion: I am planning to make your pb buttercream recipe today and I'm wondering if I wanted to add a little chocolate to half of the finished product what should I use ?? I have 100% Hersheys cocoa, windcrest black cocoa and some Ghirardelli milk chocolate chips. Id love your help & guidance 🙏

      For adding melted chocolate to buttercream I always use semi-sweet chocolate chips or chocolate bar (60% dark) that I cut into small pieces to make the process easier. Milk chocolate would be way too sweet for buttercream.
      As for the second question you can add some melted chocolate or hershey's cocoa. Both would give you a great result.

      Dark chocolate guittard was so amazing and ingredients is my thing, it had no soy or oils I don’t touch....
      The sweetness was from milk chocolate is my guess, the darker the chocolate the less added sugar...👍🏼

    Well it looks good like everything else you do but the person I know that would be able to eat this she needs it to be dairy free as well is there any way that you know of that it could be done for the frosting and to add on the cake that can be dairy free too and still taste good because usually gluten free cakes taste terrible according to my friend she doesn’t like them at all lol .. Waiting for a response from you .. Thank you in advance 👍🏼

    Hmmmmmm, so I don’t use canola or vegetable oils.... can I use... butter or raw virgin coconut oil?

      Well, I used raw unfiltered virgin coconut oil, and wowza, best cake I ever made, everyone freaked for it and were fighting over the last of it.... unbelievable.....
      Used Red Mill GF flour, and all organic grass fed etc... ingredients....
      Kerry Gold butter, organic alley buttermilk, guittard dark chocolate,
      Free range organic happy eggs, Madagascar gf vanilla, yada yada....
      Truly amazing, heavy whipping cream for the heavy cream cuz I misread, but was like truffle candy ( the frosting)... outrageous!

    Will it work well with oat flour? It looks amazing tho. Did anyone try this recipe with oat flour?

      I will give it a try with oat flour made with rolled oats tomorrow or so. Never made gluten free moist cakes before so lets se how this turns out. Catch is I wont be using Egg, making it vegan. My concern would be cake shape rather than the frosting for now.

      Definitely. Using sugar syrup is a great idea to moisten cakes especially if it will not be served on the same day.

    why does the batter look to be a light chocolate brown then it turns into a darker chocolate when she goes to pour it in her pans? did i miss something?

      I think she said that she left it to sit for 30 minutes so it could have gotten darker while resting.

      My batter was slimy too but resting it for 30 minutes before baking still made it turn into a perfectly moist cake.
