I have tried this over and over and over again with a black and white laser printed image and it never works. The image never sticks to the ink when pressed onto the gel plate. All these videos make it look so easy... it's doing my head in.
Try a colour copy of a black and white image. Some laser printers do t put enough ink down. Colour laser printers and photocopiers give a thicker print
@@lucysartstudio is that what you used? A color laser printer on the color settings but set for b/w on the file? Or did you send it electonically to place and had it printed it our as color file?
Hi Lucy, I absolutely love your artworks! !! I also love the colour schemes you tend to use! Brilliant!!! 💖👍 Lucy, I have tried everything with different laser printers from different places but have not been successful. Would you kindly let me know what brand of laser printer do you use, please? Much appreciated, Lucy!!! 🙏🧡
Nice to hear from an Australian artist! My problem with the image transfer is that most printers only use laser printing and I can't find the right kind of printers. Any suggestions?
I have a home made plate. I couldn’t get the print out of my laser printer dark enough. I wonder I I need to get glossy or semi gloss paper for laser printers? My design just would not transfer even with the right consistency of paint. Could my issue partly be because it’s a diy geli plate? I want to buy the proper thing but can’t at the moment
Lucy Thankyou for a lovely demo. My laser photo transfers do not come out unless I put the photo through 2-3. Times. Obviously the Brother toner I have is not good quality. It was generic. I wonder if an original would produce better results. Any of your lovely subscribers have the same problem? I would love to know.
Different laser printers give different results. The best is a colour laser printer. Still make your picture black and white, but print it with the colour setting. Another option that works is to lightly spray your photo copy with gloss picture varnish. Let it dry and then do your transfer. This seems to work every time. Let me know your result :)
@@lucysartstudio I have watched a ton of videos on photo transfers and was about to give up when this video & this comment appeared on my feed. I was starting to doubt that the copy machine was actually a laser copier. Nothing worked! But I found some semi gloss varnish & tried that. It Worked! Finally. I now have the Gloss and will see if that makes a better transfer. Thanks so much for information. This was a life safer and will allow me to use my own photos now.
How do you remove the layers of gel print , but yet they are in the final picture? I don't get it. I see the plate completely wiped, but your images appear. I like the process and want to learn..........Thank you
Are you still having live classes? Asking because this video is a couple of years old. Also noticed that the bottle for the black paint was not the Golden brand that you mentioned. Thank you for any information about that!! Your prints are beautiful!
So, you use a laser photo printer, you print it in B&W but the toner is color, right?? So, is rather a palette of greys. Coz I tried with B&W laser printer and it doesn't work.
Hi Lucy, did you say the writing page you used for the Eiffel Tower print was on glossy paper? Do glossy magazines work better than matte finish magazines? Thanks 😊
so the laser print on the paper doesnt absorb the acrylic or paint and leaves it on the gelli plate.. its cool how the printing press principal is being ultilized here without the big expense and effort of an actual litho printing press..or Heidelberg..

The Eiffel Tower came out superb! ❤❤

Enjoyed, loved the results. Other videos I have watched, they always recommend drying layers in between. So many different techniques.
Thx So interesting. Will give it a try

Thank you
Love the layering technique. Great job.

ingenious technique!
Did you use a specific type of black acrylic paint? Thank you for your demonstration!!
Great videos you make, thank you! Is it impossible to use inkjet printer to print photos to use with the gelliprint technique
Really helpful, thanks!
VERY Lovely!
Bonjour,c est très beau
Faut-il absolument avoir la plaque de gelée ?J essaie ça sur une feuille de plastique,ça ne marche pas vraiment....Merci
Why won't my image transfer onto the plate? I have a laser printer. Help!

Quiero saber si usa tinta gráfica (las de xilografia) o que tinta es?
I can’t wait to get a gel plate! This looks so much fun. Fab video thanks. New subscriber! 👋
Heaven help me if I can get this to work. My laser jet copies are black and white and high contrast but not transferring
I’m going to try glossy laser printer paper. Never use photo paper because it will stick to the Gelli pad.
What are the "Golden" paints I see a lot of Gelli printers using? Are they reg acrylic or flow?
Gorgeous 💕👏
Thank you
That is stunning ❤
Can you use a black and white ink jet copy of the photo?
No sorry, it must be lazer print

No just photo copy paper. It was my photo

My laser printer does nothing even when passing image 3 times in printer
What's the brand of paint you are using in the large bottle?
Hobson, but I now mainly use Amsterdam acrylics. Check out some of my new ones at Instagram lucysartstudiohome
wow, Madame!! Very nice!!! Do you think I could do this exact same technique on a tissue paper? @Lucys Art Studio
May I ask what type of paper you are transferring onto? Thank you!
I am using hot pressed watercolour paper in this video
