    Great video! definitely going to incorporate these exercises with my clients. Just some constructive criticism, would you be able to explain the functional benefit to these movements as well as the exact muscles being targeted? "Arms" is pretty general and I want to be able to explain the functional benefit as well as the muscles groups to my patients.

    Why don't you use real stroke patients for these excerises, it's so easy for the abler bodied.

      I agree , its impossible for a well person to duplicate how a stroke victim can move and respond

      because the flaws in this exercise would show up either it would be way too easy or way to hard

      Because it's showing what should be done in the standard way. As a student nurse seeing the standard way enables you to compare what is different and correcting it to what should be done. I hope this helps.

    Hi. My mom had a stroke 4 months ago and has developed something called thalamic pain. I was wondering if she can do this kind of exercises to help relaxing her shoulder? . Medication is not working and I suggested acupuncture which was totally dismissed by her neurologist. We are also trying Medical marihuana and that helps but I would like to help her at home somehow. I'm learning a lot with you and I am so thankful as we don't get much information about her condition here in Ecuador. Greetings and keep on your great work!

    Hello. I was wondering if you could give me any advice on adaptive equipment. My father recently returned home after having a severe stroke, he is on 4 lpm O2 via N/C and has a hx of CHF. He's also pretty deconditioned. He'd like to get back to his prior level of smoking 2 packs a day so I was wondering if you had any advice on how to improve his UE coordination to do his favorite hobby again. Thanks!

    Hi, Thank you for the video. I am just wondering if this exercise is only for post stroke. I don't think I had a stroke but suddenly my arms became so weak. They feel painful, fatigue, tingling, burning, tearing... and more... just different feelings at different times... I had to cancel my gym membership because I can't carry more than 10 pounds. I have an appointment with a neurologist next month but I am hoping nerves are not dead yet.

    What is the difference between a paralyzed arm and a weak arm? Will this do anything for a paralyzed arm?

    • @BobandBrad
      @BobandBrad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In a paralyzed arm the brain needs to heal- and swelling to go down. Or different part of the brain needs to help out.
      Good luck

    Well, I cant even place my hand properly to carryout these excersises after having a severe ischemic stroke 3 yrs back. No strength in extensor muscles & flexor group is heavily spstic. Elbow joint is almost tight. However shoulder joint & deltoid muscle has no power. Feels like flacid. Fingures are bent & tight due to spastisity. Plz guide how to proceed. By d way I have left side hemiplegia. Botox therapy is also done couple of times along with physiotherapy. But no result.plz upload some videos accordingly

    UP here in Ontario, Canada we have Govt paid healthcare and they go by the now old notion that after four months, there will be no more improvement so there's no more coverage after that time, you're discharged on your own from Rehab to try to cope on your own coin, if you got money: i have a friend who became frustrated and decided to start from ground zero four years post-stroke so i will show her those arm exercises for her non-working left arm as i agree with her not to quit on herself that something is better than doing nothing more as the govt is suggesting to poor people, others that can afford spend money on private PT and OT, sorry I ran on like to talk By the way, do you have any exercises for sole of the foot pain across where the toes join the foot - metarsal - someone said frozen water bottle roll under foot?/
