I just beat this boss-- no summons! My build: Police baton (handle) and Big Pipe Wrench (blade) upgraded as far as I could (+8). Special Grindstone- Fire. Legion Arm: Flamberge., Amulets: Conquering Amulet and Arm of God Amulet. If you want to P-Organ spec into a third, I'd recomend Carcasss Buthers's Amulet as I belive it works for his 2nd phase. I started off every fight with Fire Grindstone, then after setting him on fire via Fire Grindstone, Flamberge him to 50% (I used a 'Perfect Parry' build rather than dodging- use what works for you!). That usually got him to about half healtrh. Prior to beating him, I farmed up a few places to increase my Vitality, Vigor and Motivity as I was running a strength (Motivity) build. I like to have as many Pulse cells as possible, so I (P-Organ) specced into that. I didn't use any fable Arts as they don't fit my playstyle but use them if you can weave them into your attacks. I had a few 'Vegnini Instant repair kits' hotbarred; even specced for faster weapon repair, it STILL takes wayyyyyy to long to repair! No lie, this boss is TOUGHHHHHHH! But remember to take breaks between attemps! Appreciate your hard work! You are doing WAYYYYY better than you are giving yourself credit for! You got this!!!
Great stuff man thank you so much for the guide. Much better than “summon, make summon meat shield, and throw fire.” That I see in so many other guides. And don’t get me wrong, if someone is having fun, then that’s the right way to play for sure! , but personally I like the feeling of dying a million times to actually learn the boss and breakdowns like this one actually help a lot! I feel like guides like yours here are few and far between unfortunately. So keep up the great work good sir! 🎉
This was the first boss that made me go..."fuuuuuuuuuuccccckkkkkk" Can wreck him quickly now after a couple playthroughs, but that first run was rough.
I was struggling on this boss for hours and I've been looking for a lot of videos to help me figure out the timing on the boss because I could easily do the first phase and most of the attacks in the second phase but I couldn't get the timing down to perfect guard his running attack and I finally won thanks to this video! Thank you for breaking down the game so thoroughly, it's very helpful.
Bro, you need more subscribers. Just used this video like a masterclass, and taking it slow really is helping. I loved the music analogy - that’s my field! Thanks again :)
Lies of p is my first soulslike and that's the first boss that I got ACTUALLY stuck on. I could do 1st phase perfectly and then get absolutely smashed in second phase. Thanks to this tutorial I did it with 40 deaths (5 after watching this guide)
Great breakdown, I have a love hate relationship with the bosses in this game. But it comes down to me being stubborn and doesn’t want to use the specter or similar tactics. I want to get the fights down and win by bullying them and it’s so much easier if you can see a slow down of the moves. Will watch the rest of your guides in preparation for ng+!
Yeah I don't use Sumnons nor Items in my playthroughs - more pride than stubborness so I'm 100% on board with how you're approaching this game. Feels way more rewarding when you take these bosses down solo.
@@oxfordking just wanted to come back and say i defeated the monster and that your video was so so helpful! I really appreciate how you show it in slow motion and let us see some animations twice. really so helpful! Once i get to the next bosses I'll check out your guides for them as well. thanks so much.
This is a great video, mate. With your help I had the second phase down to about two hits left, but he swung and killed me 😭. Going to have a break and try again tomorrow. Will hopefully come back with some good news
I beat this boss a few weeks(?) ago and I honestly gotta say he ended up being lots of fun. Atm he's probably one of my favourites. Your video was one of the videos I'd watched beforehand to learn his moves, so thank you once again! :)
I found the thing either red charge you or dig the ground when you walk in, digging if you wait for the rock/sand to get close and dodge usually it will be fine, cuz the arena is so small. I never got the chance to actually learn second phase he just keep leaping here and there and push me into the wall... I didn't think it will be a difficult one but I couldn't time the red smashes somehow
Some of the best advice to learn how to play souls games: remember that frustration is NOT fuel. It's a downfall. For me anyway. The more frustrated I get the worse I get and the less attention I pay to what's in front of me. So learn patience and pay attention! Look for patterns. Your mindset is either your worst enemy or your greatest asset. So train like a Jedi . It is the only way to become a master 🙏
Thanks for the super good guide! But I really can’t handle the second phase, especially the charge. I can finish phase 1 no hit. But phase 2😢 The fact that even with slow down, some attacks are still so fast that it looks like normal playback speed shows how absurdly fast this boss is…
Thanks yeah TH-cam pushes out the "cheese strats" over actual guides so my videos never really get the attention I feel they deserve. An Actual Guide teaching the boss mechanics.
Super helpful! This one had soooo many different attacks, I think i counted over 20 different moves. You really have to do your homework with this one. Cant wait for the next guide, I havent reached the next boss yet so idk who it is, but this one was already really difficult, so Im a bit worried about the next ^^"
Yeah the further into the game I go the more complex these fights have become. I have 3 guides to make. There were more bosses but I felt that 3 of them deserved guides.
Yeah I soloed, no summons, no throwables NG, NG+, NG++ and NG+++ love this game but honestly with a little practice and patience you too will be even more badass.
@@oxfordking I ended up using a Specter lol the boss isn't that fun tbh imo I don't like the second phase I would rather keep dying and retrying to get better with Laxasia. Green Swamp Monster is personally not a fun boss fight. I beat Laxasia solo and she was such a fun boss I loved fighting her.
Yeah another thing that I learned after I did this video (I ended up going all the way to NG+++) is when you flank him in the 2nd Phase he rotates is upper torso every time which buys you more time for DPS.
@@oxfordking also you didn't mention in the video but when he's doing the tentacle crab attack ( you said it was good downtime) is the perfect time to throw consumables if people are playing to use that way for ranged dps
THIS is a boss guide...not "no-damage" or throwing "rocks"...just step by step. Regarding perfect block I keep seeing that it's done with heavy weapons, which I dislike. So I think I will stick to the "friendship" cube.
Thank you! Seriously means a lot to me - yeah TH-cam promotes the "other videos" more than an actual Boss Guide unfortunately but that won't change the way I do these guides. Including the upcoming Elden Ring DLC Boss Guides.
My main problem is reaction, i block with a perfect block well if 30% of all attacks. I often do it either too early or too late. How to improve your reaction? I fought this boss for three hours and nothing😢
after 200 times and like level 91 now, still cant beat him hahaha, almost there tho, after the second grab i always die, and he is so low on health, but my specter is dead then xD and damn you are so good at timing haha.
One trick for the 2nd phase is try your best to attack or get around on the rear side, he spins around. You'll see what I mean. It really slows the fight down and allows you to get some hits in. Best of luck brotha!
Beat em after 10 more tries. I just ignored the other siblings and only went for the elder tho the siblings were annoying af. Thx for the advice tho.@@Bignuke87
@@iio_moon no problem! The 2nd half of this game was difficult but very rewarding story wise IMO. If you haven't beaten it, have fun and make sure you use those throwables if you get stuck. Also, this is true cheese and unintended (I never did this) but if you hit an absolute brick wall in the 2nd half of the game, once the bosses switch to Phase 2, you can actually use the pocket watch to teleport back to the stargazer, refill your Cells automatically, then run back to boss and the boss fight will start at phase 2.
I'm currently on my way to fight the puppet king. Oh i didn't know you can do that with a watch! Thx, i'll use it if i get to point where i might rage quite lol.@@Bignuke87
Thanks yeah it's tough. Another tip i learned after my upload was to get on it's flank the best you can in the 2nd phase. It turns its torso allowing for DPS time and resetting. Good luck 💪
I feel like a fucking scrub frfr I've had to summon for previous bosses and I'm trying to resist the urge here. After this shit I think I'm gonna go try sekiro
Try this, when you get to the 2nd phase, try running to the flank asap. He turns his body around allowing for damage. Happens every time you run to his side. Hope it helps 👍
This game has a pretty sub-optimal targeting system.. even dodging some base level enemies is harder than any souls game I’ve played (Bloodborne, Elden Ring)
I've enjoyed your playthrough of this game!
Thank you 🙏 appreciate that

Thanks for this. The slow motion visuals helped calm my brain. I got it in three tries after.
Yeah I like the slow motion videos I have been going with; seems to help out a lot of others as well.
this boss is ruining me 🤣 I just can't get him anywhere near in the second phase
In the 2nd Phase he spins around if you attack on the flank or read side.
Throwables man. And get some friendships cubes.
This was the first boss that made me go..."fuuuuuuuuuuccccckkkkkk"
Can wreck him quickly now after a couple playthroughs, but that first run was rough.
7:36 when he does this, just pay attention to the other arm. stand in front of him and Block when he twists the other arm up.

Yeah I studied music many years ago and always felt the tempo of these fights helped when slowing things down.
This Guy was totally Unpredictable…. When U fightin him in Real-time, He pulls the most Bs on me.. ThankGod 4 Ox…👍👍👍👍👍👍

Very good! With your help, i killed the green monster nearly instantly! Good job, keep it going!

I did it) Although it took me more than four hours) And it turned out quite easily in the last attempt, because I spent only 4 heal)
Just beat this guy this AM, I never managed to perfect parry one of those red jumps

The fact that even with slow down, some attacks are still so fast that it looks like normal playback speed shows how absurdly fast this boss is…
In the 2nd Phase get to his Flank quickly - it will lift up and rotate allowing you time for damage.
it can also be good to repair your weapon when the boss is in the staggered critical hit stance
Finally a guide without using a specter Thanks this is good stuff

So true Took me a while to find this proper guide! Subscribed Thanks again, I’ve ALMOST got him Down to the last bit of the second phase each time
My blocking and parrying needs work this boss is absolutely breaking me down mentally
