"I'm neither angry nor irate, but I'm going to play and get through this." Wow that is one of the best lines delivered in awhile. I can't wait to watch the rest of these. And the Cheetah with the exit wound, was really graphic.
Dude, looove your videos... keep 'em coming. The fact that you have a mint condition Action 52 enshrined in a glass case makes me think you actually paid $200 bucks (i.e. 18 thousand dollars!) for it... way to go Pat!
This series takes on new meaning if you imagine Pat's obsessed over video game collecting so much that he's snapped and become delusional, imagining that his video game toys talk to him and that he he has a show where he reviews those games but in reality he's just talking into a wall or at his TV thinking he's making a show. Imagine that. On an unrelated note, I think I've been watching too many of these lately.
$199.99?! Talk about a big waste of money. Sadly it came out the same year as Sonic the Hedgehog, Bare Knuckle and Battletoads, which those 3 are far better games than the god-awful Action 52.
Another fact, You know that action 52 used to be just a bootleg multicart called Supervision 52-in-1 released in 1989, which just had a bunch of Famicom/NES games on it, some Japan only titles such as Twinbee and Goonies 1.
The irate guy, i'm not sure if he really did rip off avgn, but his videos feel way too acted even tho the quality is there. Avgn seems natural and with pat he's just being goofy
4:49 "There's seven year olds reading this" Seven year olds that get a 199$ game from their parents/ have managed to save 199$ without spending it? Wow. That comic is awesome. I wouldn't mind a Cheetahmen franchise.
You know Active Enterprises didn't even bother to change the cartridge art for the Genesis game, so the guy on the cartridge was still holding an NES controller... lol.
$200 inflated for 2016 is about $350. You could get way more than 52 games for that amount of money, and they're likely to be more unique than the Action 52 library.
Tht's because the Nerd is the master of All. R.O.B. is too scared to risk seeing him again so he hides in the one place he believes the Nerd would never venture. Pat's domain.
Cool, can't wait for the next part. I were really interested by Action 52 a few months ago, I did alot of research on it and stuff. There is even a fan website with an interview with a man behind Action 52 for the Genesis, it's worth a look. :P Great video as always PatTheNESPunk
I remember seeing the ads for this garbage in those old 600 page issues of Electronic Gaming Monthly. I would say I was too worldly to fall for it, but, then again, I begged my mom to buy my a Jaguar.
Was the point making as much shitty games as possible so that there wouldn't be any more shitty games to make? Quality over quantity. That is the lesson here.
"I'm neither angry nor irate, but I'm going to play and get through this." Of course you're not, because you're... well, you're... uhhh you're punk... I guess.
"READ BEFORE USING! "SMART Circuitry" If you see the picture reset 2-5 times before launching, this is the Action 52 "smart circuitry" adjusting itself to your Nintendo console. If it doesn't set after six resets, simply reset your Nintendo console." sarcasmYeah, I'm pretty convinced it isn't trying to bypass the lockout chip. /sarcasm
hmm... do you know that they were going to make a snes version and their own game console called the action gamemaster? they were also planning to make a cheetamen 3
@HelloFade2 Yes, the Tengen games are of a very high quality overall (arcade ports mostly), and a few of the Camerica games are good. Most of the Color Dreams, ACGI, and AVE games are awful though.
"Neither angry nor irate"
I see what you did there...
"I'm neither Angry nor Irrate"... Definitely the best line uttered by Pat in the whole video! ;)
It's so weird watching videos from that far back. It was such a different world back then.
This was a brave undertaking, Pat. I hope the experience made you stronger.
$199.00 equals $342.11 in 2013. After taxes that would be $212.93 in 1991 and equal $366.06 in 2013 assuming a 7% tax rate.
Update for 2014. $212.93 in 1991 equals $369.41 today.
I'd pay 500 for 1080p Cheetahmen alone!
"I'm neither angry nor irate, but I'm going to play and get through this."
Wow that is one of the best lines delivered in awhile. I can't wait to watch the rest of these. And the Cheetah with the exit wound, was really graphic.
love the use of the "punch out" speech sounds for R.O.B :)
The sudden back to back bickering with ROB is fucking hilarious.
"I'm not the most politically correct, but *won't someone pleeeeeeease think of the children*?"
Pat Lovejoy?
Critical bypass its critical you bypass this game
AVGN said that though
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASS
Space Dandy is good shit.
we don't wanna see some boring podcasts we only wanna see these kinds of vids that have a ongoing story involving skits

Every time I hear that GHWB speech, it instantly cues Foreclosure of a Dream to play in my head.
My favorite quote ever! "i am neither angry or irate."
$199.99?! Talk about a big waste of money. Sadly it came out the same year as Sonic the Hedgehog, Bare Knuckle and Battletoads, which those 3 are far better games than the god-awful Action 52.
In 2009, my dad was laid off. He couldn't find a job for around 2 yrs. It was rough, but my family charged thru and are successful.
This was uploaded before avgn did action 52.
Two years later...and still in a recession.
Another fact, You know that action 52 used to be just a bootleg multicart called Supervision 52-in-1 released in 1989, which just had a bunch of Famicom/NES games on it, some Japan only titles such as Twinbee and Goonies 1.
Great review, i noticed you have stack em up, the other rob game, it is so rare, for all the parts and instructions, to be included.
The irate guy, i'm not sure if he really did rip off avgn, but his videos feel way too acted even tho the quality is there. Avgn seems natural and with pat he's just being goofy
pat you should do a book with every nes game with you or your face, like the old intro vids, i would buy that lol
That shredder splinter thing you said was dark as hell lol
Lol love the friendly and subtle jab and avgn and that irate guy "well i'm not angry or irate"
+TheMMObro LOL! Friendly indeed, but about as subtle as a dump-truck at Oktoberfest!
ive been waiting for this vid since.......... the last one actually, keep up the great work pat, your awesome
continue to be awesome pat!
The arguments between Pat & R.O.B. are hilarious!!! Big thumbs up!
You really deserve more views honestly.
4:49 "There's seven year olds reading this"
Seven year olds that get a 199$ game from their parents/ have managed to save 199$ without spending it? Wow.
That comic is awesome. I wouldn't mind a Cheetahmen franchise.
Aw poor Rob. I feel bad for him. he is underrated in Brawl and I think he looks cool.
I remember seeing this advertised at the time it came out. we all thought it was BS, 52 games in 1? get outta town!
You know Active Enterprises didn't even bother to change the cartridge art for the Genesis game, so the guy on the cartridge was still holding an NES controller... lol.
I know, i was just being sarcastic. I was also shocked to find another game reviewer like the AVGN.
Can someone tell me what episode it was where Pat looks for the person who stole the NWC cart off him?
@djdogjuam The fact that the intro upsets you that much is very amusing. :)
Much later, you would actually find somewhere on the internet, a comic with Shredder raping Splinter with his own walking stick.
$200 inflated for 2016 is about $350. You could get way more than 52 games for that amount of money, and they're likely to be more unique than the Action 52 library.
Not great games, since they tend to be more expensive than shovelware :/
Maybe 52 shitty Atari 2600 games.
Neither angry nor irate, wow man! that's awesome
LOL i love how at the end he says....Angry(Video game nerd, and Irate(gamer)..lol you go Pat!!!!!!
Tht's because the Nerd is the master of All. R.O.B. is too scared to risk seeing him again so he hides in the one place he believes the Nerd would never venture. Pat's domain.
this video aged well
Cool, can't wait for the next part. I were really interested by Action 52 a few months ago, I did alot of research on it and stuff. There is even a fan website with an interview with a man behind Action 52 for the Genesis, it's worth a look. :P
Great video as always PatTheNESPunk
I am neither angry nor irate...
Classic
"I can run I can walk what can you do?" He can shoot lasers from his eyes. Consult Super Smash Bros Brawl for proof.
lol he said "I'm neither "Angry" nor "IRATE" but im gonna get through this"
So apparently after R.O.B. got his ass handed to him by the AVGN, he retired to Pat's room and reduced himself to heckling and immature jokes.
I remember seeing the ads for this garbage in those old 600 page issues of Electronic Gaming Monthly. I would say I was too worldly to fall for it, but, then again, I begged my mom to buy my a Jaguar.
Not entirely sure about that... our unemployment rate is well above 10%.
Can anyone tell me what the song in the intro is
you should've heeded the almighty ROB about this
Note that the original TMNT comic was *not* for kids.
Ouch the first thing R.O.B said .I was only playing it because i realize they have it on the Genesis.
why is rob the robot evil? is it 'cause he only plays two games?
Because it's an easy joke to make.
His mission is to eliminate inferior games by replacing all games with Gyromite & Stackup.
go watch AVGN ROB lol
Alex Coulthard
No more long passwords.
No more despicable controls.
No more barf-inducing graphics.
No more useless weapons.
That and both games are impossible to play with him.
I live in the same state that made Action 52!?!?
Was the point making as much shitty games as possible so that there wouldn't be any more shitty games to make? Quality over quantity. That is the lesson here.
@PatTheNESpunk Yeah, Tengen's Tetris is actually better than Nintendo's. Also, I remember Klax from my childhood. That game was awesome.
I know it wont fit but to pull a hank hill, A thousandth dollars.
"I'm neither angry nor irate, but I'm going to play and get through this."
Of course you're not, because you're... well, you're... uhhh you're punk... I guess.
lol neither angry nor irate :D
how did i get here????????????
Nice stuff chief.
Just that intro made me subscribe!
Yeah, but the joke is that the Angry Video Game Nerd and the Irate Gamer both already covered this game.
At the start of the video,it says Pat NES The Punk
"READ BEFORE USING!
"SMART Circuitry"
If you see the picture reset 2-5 times before launching, this is the Action 52 "smart circuitry" adjusting itself to your Nintendo console. If it doesn't set after six resets, simply reset your Nintendo console."
sarcasmYeah, I'm pretty convinced it isn't trying to bypass the lockout chip. /sarcasm
"Aw, look at the cheetah...OH MY GOD!" :D
Irate Gamer never reviewed Action 52....I doubt he even has that it.
when did irate gamer review action 52?
@anthony moore yup, that's what he's referencing
Play the RESCUE Games. Man, they’re smooth!
eeeeeeeeew, you mentioned Bores.
Name of the song in the intro and by who? I know who it is, but don't remember it.
I couldn't stop laughing when Pat looked at the comic! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review starts at 2:26
Back in '91-'92 you could've bought an SNES for $199
What is the music in the intro?
There's also A cheetahmen 2 and Action 52 Genesis game.
hmm... do you know that they were going to make a snes version and their own game console called the action gamemaster? they were also planning to make a cheetamen 3
Hey pat. Do more stuff with the AVGN : ]
the song is bad reputation, forgot who its by but i think it came around in the 80's...maybe its the kinks or something
behold the horror which is action 52
Don't both angry and irate mean the same thing?
Him and AVGN are friends. It says so on AVGNs website
Thank you.
I like the intro.
I'm torn between this and the vgn review over which one I like more
Also, Florida? It came from Florida? UGH. of course
What's the name of the song in the intro?
that would explain why he doesn't work and pat never set him up.
Rob the Flaming Robot. lol, i wonder if the sega genesis version with 199 bucks. I cant believe they thought the first game was PONG. just wow
what music play?
Joan Jett
Yeah, I realize that. I was being rhetorical. :P
@HelloFade2
Yes, the Tengen games are of a very high quality overall (arcade ports mostly), and a few of the Camerica games are good. Most of the Color Dreams, ACGI, and AVE games are awful though.
I read George's lips, and I read "no goo access". No idea.
I'm pretty sure it was "No Jews Asses."
Intro made me think of kick ass :D
@PatTheNESpunk you forgot the codemasters ones.
xD Yeah, Megadeth must have taken some pieces of that speech, I know it from Megadeth as well.
If rob would of told me something like that i would have thrown him to the wall lol
Smart Circuitry, my ass. But I guess they couldn't call it Anti-Piracy Bypass Chip.
I love that song. :)
