Notice how the 2011 era episodes began with the shot of James looking over behind the couch to the camera. This guy knew how to implement his own signature while remaining entertaining and funny. I know Steven Spielberg and James Rolfe are two different people, but each are both gifted in the medium they bring, for all to enjoy.

Here we are a total of more than 13 years later, and he's still going, alive & strong. That's bad ass.

I think even "realistic" games would do better with more colorful graphics. I mean look at Kerbal Space Program, colorfull, quirky, but hard as fuck and realistic enough to get a job at NASA. (Especially if you have FAR installed)
This was fucking hilarious. I will say I did enjoy “Jurassic Park” for the Sega Genesis. The graphics were on point at the time and the game play wasn’t bad at all.
The controls are a little wonky, looking back at it, but it is not a bad game at all. That last level, when you see the elevators covered in blood... terrifying for a 7 year old kid.
I’m pretty sure the only way to win was to throw a red grenade at the Dino skeleton at the end (if there were other ways, I was a kid, I was an idiot) .. but if the only way was with the red grenade. How random!

You know, this episode sort of marked a point in AVGN. Its like, you can study the period of AVGN between Spielberg Games and Desert Bus, for obvious reasons. There can be games about touchy subject matter. Spec Ops: The Line: War Crimes in the context of games. Bioshock: The breakdown of an objectivist society under real conditions. Deus Ex: About how transhumanism affects a society. Although Bioshock Infinite's attention to racism might not count because that was mostly part of cutscenes or off to the side, it wasn't holistic with of the game.

Items that are on display are the Greys Sports Almanac (which effects the plot of the film), a Roger Rabbit plush ( both movies are directed by Robert Zemeckis) and, of course, the Jaws nes game (because Spielberg produced the BTTF franchises).
By far the BEST jurassic park game was the arcade one where it feels like you're riding around in the jeep shooting at all the different dinosaurs (made by sega)

Technically that's just a nickname the crew came up with. In the movies it's only ever referred to as The Shark.

Alien 3 for the SNES was a fantastic game, and that was published by LJN. Not all their games are terrible, but the large majority of them are.

By far the BEST jurassic park game was the arcade one where it feels like you're riding around in the jeep shooting at all the different dinosaurs (made by sega)
