  • Swapping out my standard turbo for a CCT Turbo stage 1 high-flow.
    Would not recommend doing this at home unless you have experience in the area.

    Got one on my ranger. Done 20,000k. Definitely a lot more punch down low. Made it 2ltrs per hundred better, but that could have been the faulty egr valve drinking more🤣

      After installing my throttle controller the only thing left acceleration wise is a 3" exhaust to let it flow better!

      Maybe something I can do later on down the track.
      My experience so far has been pretty good.
      There definitely is a power increase but it's full potential won't be unlocked until I get a dyno tune.
      Still a while off yet but we'll see what the numbers say then!

      @@Shenanigans4x4 Yea awesome matey. My Ranger has a new exhaust and tune (124kw) but still lacks overall power. Hence the reason for new intercooler and Turbo + piping. Definitely keep us in the loop with your upgrades matey.

    Have you done anything with internals or injectors or is this a good turbo upgrade to avoid doing all that?

      No extra upgrades required for the stage 1 mate
      Makes it a great bolt on
      I will eventually get an exhaust to help it flow better then a tune though
      If you go for the stage 2 they reckon extra upgrades are required

    Great vid mate, how’s it been going so far? And would you recommend a new oil feel line when buying it? I think my actuator is kicked it and instead of spending $330 on just a actuator I thought this stage one upgrade might be better.

      Same thing happened to me, I reckon it's well worth it especially being cheaper than a reco turbo
      I had dramas with codes on the first one I installed and it was replaced, no questions asked
      Second one's been in for 15000km and no dramas
      I didn't replace my oil feed but from what I hear it is recommended

      @@Shenanigans4x4 awesome mate. Mind me asking what codes you were getting as I’ve been getting two, P0234 and P2598. Is it best to buy through CTTurbo direct? As I’m in Brisbane.

      @@beeza421 yeah mine was throwing P2598 as well
      I got mine direct from them but definitely get the extra warranty or if something goes wrong you'll have to swap it over to them in Victoria

      @@Shenanigans4x4 so I had a mechanic come look at mine today, he seems to think it’s the map sensor was it’s giving two codes one being low boost and another being over boost. So just ordered a new map sensor should have it this arvo. I’ve got a feeling it’s the actuator though but why not waste money eliminating smaller things haha 🤣

    Hows the turbo whine now mate?? My oil seal just sgit itself in my patrol so considering buying one, was it just wearing in??

      You can still hear it in the maccas drive thru but it has quietened down a lot, wearing in would be my guess!

      Just make sure you change your oil before fitting and you should be sweet with any warranty issues

    Thinking about getting a stage 2 cct turbo upgrade for my YD25 d40 Navara, the stage two offers upwards of 25% more airflow whereas the cct stage one offers around 15% more airflow than the stock YD turbo.

      Definitely could have gone the stage 2, didn't want the extra price tag of extra parts to go with it though!
      Stage 1 can be fitted without a tune, or additional engine and/or driveline upgrades.

    Hi mate had another question, when yours was throwing codes was it going into limp mode? And we’re you getting the traction control light and trans light on the dash and while they were on selecting reverse jolted the car when selecting? Sorry for hassling you but the mechanic I got yesterday seemed to be a waste of money haha.

      Yeah all exactly the same except mines manual so no reverse jolt, could be the limp mode on an auto
      I drove around for about a week with a scan tool plugged in to clear the fault at roundabouts haha

It’s been doing my head in I drove it today kept the revs about 2100 and under and went fine but as soon as I put the foot down went to limp mode… I’m going to do a actuator or turbo replacement in the next week. Was the turbo shield a pain to remove? Can’t seem to find clear vids of it being removed.

    Hey man what was the go with your oil leak problem, looking at doing an install soon and kind of want to know what to look out for?

      Hey Brad, fault of my own really, the oil drain tube is pretty tricky to get the bolts back in.
      I dropped one (absolutely no idea where it went!) and had to get a replacement but running it in the meantime made it leak.

    When changing the turbo did you change the oil feel line

      Hey mate, honestly I've had it for nearly 2 weeks and looking at warranty. Maybe just a dud one.
      Definitely more power though, we'll see how the second one goes!

      Update: I've gotten a new turbo under warranty. My advice - Get the premium warranty!
      I had to pull the turbo out, take it to Speed Up Auto Parts (other side of Melbourne), come back and put the new one in in one day!

      @@callandemo Hey mate, so far so good.
      The original was taken back and no fault could be determined on the flow bench. Both turbos had a pretty loud whine noticeable in first and second gear.
      After sending a recording to Speed Up Auto Parts they claim its normal.

      Nine months on and still going strong mate 💪
      I spoke to a mechanic the other day and he put one in a BT50 and a Patrol and never heard a problem about them
      I think they're pretty good bang for the buck but can't say what it's like with a tune yet

      @@masonmcginley9121 Heya mate... So it is a good little unit, but one thing that has been happening recently is that the car throws a code from time to time. Essentially, because the turbo spools up faster and produces more boost than stock, the D4d ecu tends to think the turbo veins aren't closed when it is.
      While it's annoying, it's a code that can be cleared easily. The same thing happens to D4d's that have had bigger dump pipes put on

      @@MrVaelen oh yea the old code limp mode I was getting that aswell turned out for me was cause I had a loose battery terminals for the earth did u go stage 1 or stage 2 turbo ?? I’ve also heard it’s cause the exhaust is too free flowing after exhaust changes etc...

      Hey Kurt, they weren't too bad just took a bit of manoeuvring to get them lined up
      You will need an E6 socket to swap over the stud though

      Got it from CCT Turbo mate, it does spool louder than stock with a snorkel

      No tune needed for the stage 1, I will get it tuned after upgrading the exhaust though
      Mines a PX 2013 3.2L
