    Thanks for posting easy explanation of how to set up starting point and fine tune your boost ...and important at the end don't overboost or it will lean out and damage stuff .
    Anyone attempting to do this should read up and see what turbo they have and what stock boost psi it's set to this is a starting point you shorten the rod to add more or lengthen it to subtract to get to desired spec thanks 😊👍

    You should definitely slightly tighten the lock nut on the actuator rod. This neutralizes the stress load on the threads and minimizes wear with use. Last thing you need is the rod failing.

    if i didnt get anything wrong, you ve increased the arm length of the actuator. but it reduces the regulated pressure. it will open the by-pass way sooner than before. you need to decrease and take the spring force so the spring activates later. this would have increase pressure but could damage inlet pipes and intercooler.

Had it Dyno tuned with stock wastegate control armand stock turbo, I feel like I'm loosing power or boost so I gave the actuator a clockwise turn and never felt a bit of difference.. I ordered a new wastegate control arm which is stock at 7 PSI or LB's of pressure. I bought an upgraded turbo smart control arm and never put it on because it's a 14PSI spring inside..
    I was wondering if I am tuned to 15 PSI and swop out the 7psi actuator control arm for the 14 PSI TS control arm.. Will it mess up my tune or will it just add another 7 lb's of boost to the tune or car???

    • @BC2FITTY
      @BC2FITTY 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Buy a aftermarket adjustable waste gate actuator that has adjustable springs, the ecu will adjust the boost electronically but for example if your turbo can handle 30+psi but your wastegate actuator will only hold 15psi even tho you set your ecu to 20+psi it will only be at 15psi if boost because of your stock actuator.
      See the turbos limits on max psi ratings and look into upgrading the wastegate actuator or leave it completely open to get the stututu sound and then adjust your standalone accordingly.

    Ben fatto. Gradirei sapere per una Opel Vectra sw DTH 2.0 74 kw 101 cv come va regolata l'asta wastegate in quanto il turbo non spinge forte. Inoltre ho comprato la wastegate nuova. Posso misurare con pompa a depressione? Grazie

    Can you adjust the stock 3.5 ecoboost f-150 like shown here?

  • @michaelbanuelos969

    did you disconnect the big relay on the drivers side that controls the fan? i heard it goes bad and causes the fan to run which drains the battery pretty quick haha.
    if you did disconnect it can you do a quick video showing exactly which relay it is and how to safely disconnect it?

    • @turbobuicks1015
      @turbobuicks1015  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Micheal, there's a low and high speed fan relay. They should be fine as is. Are you having fan issues?

    You can tell me what you did in the video you put pressure on the turbo or you drop it?

    • @TheSamiswellcool
      @TheSamiswellcool 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you back it off you drop the boost. Tightening it will raise it. As he said he backed it off to about 16 pounds. Then every turn to tighten it roughly increases it by 1 pound.

    What if the rod doesn't adjust

      Rod (actuator control arm) has to be replaced by fabricating your own or purchasing one.

    Hi there.. Brilliant video..
    May i ask u a question if u dont mind.
    I have an Evo 8 and when i bought it, it already had some mods done to it.. It is rapid. It pulls hard when the turbo kicks in. But the one thing i notice is if I'm in 6th gear doing let's say 80mph and i put my accelerator most of the way down i feel like im losing boost from some where and the acceleration is patchy. I can hear like boost being released from some where? It never did this when i first bought the car. Looking at some of the receipts from previous owner i see that an upgraded actuator spring was installed. Could you shine some light on what might be the issue. It doesn't happen in 1-4th gear.. For your information i have a recirc value on it and not a dump valve..

    • @turbobuicks1015
      @turbobuicks1015  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The upgraded actuator spring is prolly the same as the adjustable actuator on the TR's...lets you run more boost...but fueling needs to be adjusted for more boost with our cars...via an adjustable chip...or an aftermarket fuel management system. A data log from a run would sure be handy. I'm wondering if the boost is getting away on it in high gear...and it's dumping excess boost pressure. Maybe the spring went soft. My best advice is to join an EVO forum, and post your question. I'm sure the guys could nail down your issue fairly quickly. Your boost will be highest in high gear...so I wouldn't go balls out till you resolve the issue. Changing head gaskets suck...lol.

      Ryan Kasper (agreeing with you)I was about to say, if you’re in a Evo and doing 80 mph in 6th gear you’re at like near idle rpms, so you’re going to be basically N/A until you make it back to 3-4K rpms; that, plus the fact you’ve got such low gearing in 6th you won’t just have all the response in the world.

    What boost controller are you using? What you think about the rjc boost controller and how many pounds of boost you running there?

    • @turbobuicks1015
      @turbobuicks1015  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actuator/puck control the boost along with adjustment I make on the rod. For bracket racing I use 23 lbs of boost on a conservative tune. Car runs right around 7 flat at 100 in the 1/8 at 23 lbs of boost...equivalent of 11 flat in the 1/4.

    A bit confused, when my engine starts the rod closes the valve, so with your video your tightening the the rod to close the valve? should mine be already closes off? as I am now experiencing low boost with the code P0299 - watched so many videos and they are very conflicting. Appreciate any help!

      You wastegate valve should be closed when installing and closed basically all the time until you hit boost
