Good useful video overall. But, connections using CRUX kit for retaining Steering Wheel Controls is where I am stuck at. Your video skips through the specific connections from stereo harness to the interface and then to car wires. It would be helpful if you had slowed down a bit when explaining SWC connections.
Crazy...I have this same radio...and this was so awesome! I purchased the Sienna from a friend but i want to do so much more to it. Thank you for this video!!!
Very helpful! Need to get the parking brake bypass switch to finish. Would be helpful to watch as you fish the lines through the car, particularly that mic cable. A coat hangar would have helped!
Thank you for an educational video, but I wanted to ask for clarification on a couple of wire couplings. I have a 2007 Toyota Sienna and purchased a Pioneer DMH-342 EX and attempting to install myself. The blue/white wire from the radio is coupled with the blue/white wire from the Crux SWRTY-61S module and the blue wire from the micro bypass? The same process for the black wire from all three? You may have covered it, but I wanted to make sure I did it correctly. Thank you
In this one you have the different connection with the Alpine radio and I am installing a Pioneer but you did not make the same connection with the reverse camera
This is a great video!!! One on my 12volt sockets is not working so this could be a great upgrade, I don’t see myself needing the aux input but it’s great you showed all options!!!
Not this model specifically, but you can depending on how you connect your phone. If you purchase a radio with a video or HDMI input, you can mirror your phone with the radio to view your phone's screen there. Alternatively, you can also purchase an Android auto or Apple CarPlay enabled radio to use your phone's navigation directly on the radio.
I have questions though. How do you connect the car’s antenna cable to the pioneer to make the radio work? How do you connect the parking wire? Also after I installed it, there seems to be no sound coming from the mid dash speaker. I have the 2004 sienna with JBL without an AUX. It’s so weird.
You didn’t really describe what the original sienna plugs looked like and how you connected them to the new radio. I have 4 modules in the dash and have no idea how to connect to the new radio
Ebay has the Pioneer for $130. The other stuff would cost less than $50. Probably $30. Pay a shop $100 to install it... Less than $300 ain't bad... Of course the best thing to do is buy the Sienna XLE Limited. It has the killer JBL sound system. 11 speakers.
I left a comment yesterday and deleted it after catching my own mistake. I noticed your Sienna has an AUX, so I looked at mine and as it turns out, I don't have an AUX input. In place of it, is a Engine immobilizer/theft deterrent system indicator light. Towards the bottom of the dash above the cup holder, it looks the same, as I notice some have options for seat warmers. Mine does not. I've seen other installs of AUX ports using this panel area, just by drilling a hole and feeding it through. How/where can I install an aux port on my van? Can the unlabeled black oval cut out be used as such? If so, how would I go about connecting it? I believe the owners manual diagram labels this as Item #6, as a Power Outlet Main Switch.
I went with a iData T01 harness. The wiring colors on the T01 harness do not match up with the factory harness. And, there is one T01 connector with more wires than the corresponding connector on the factory harness. Is this right?
Do you have a link to how you turned one of your USB ports to a regular charger port? Edit: just watched that part again. It's clear to me now. Thanks!
I changed on mine today but with standard wiring kit just for speakers and power but buttons on streering dont work how we have to set the crux and my new radio has one wire it says steering wheel remote input
BTW I kinda lost you on the part where you were installing the USB ports. You didn't really show what all you did. Wires were connected from the start but where'd they go? And is your one cigarette lighter still serving as a cigarette lighter?
Will an aftermarket head unit like this one accept audio from the rear seat entertainment system (DVD) player in the back? normally you switch the factory system to AUX to get DVD audio through the speakers. I have a 2004 XLE with a jbl stereo (No nav)
Do you need the Crux SWRTY-61S Wiring Harness Adapter if your Sienna does not have steering wheel controls? Also, do you need the microbypass for the Pioneer AVH-290BT?
No, if do not have steering wheel control in your Sienna (CE trim) you don't need the CRUX harness. You can go with the basic harness, just make sure it serves the AUX function if the new stereo does not have one, unless if you're not interested in AUX jack.
I installed the microbypass just as you showed, but the volume controls on the steering wheel are not working? Any idea. I ordered all the same parts you did except I am using an AVH-1550NEX.
make sure you have the steering wheel cable plugged into the WR input on the back of the radio. Also, check to see if you have the crux module setup correctly
@@ProvoBeastAudio is this radio available to buy online? Maybe you have a link somewhere I haven't seen. I as thinking of just installing a 12 disc CD changer with it, would that work? Thanks
@@bhumane8642 Disc Changes are becoming more and more outdated. There really isn't a simple route for a change install. As for the radio, search amazon. This is a few years old, so you can probably find a newer model.
It bypass the video restriction on the radio while in motion and gains access to certain settings in the menus. No, you have to purchase it separately.
Price will vary on parts availability and your location. All parts used are listed in the description and you can search those part numbers in amazon. Prices will also be a bit inflated if purchased from local shops as well.

Also stuck on the swc control. Can’t figure out where to connect the red wire for power
And at this point I saved your video for my future install. Thank you at this point.
Swc won't work on my android atoto a6 pro. Crux not working properly
Crux usually doens't interface will with android units.
Agree...atoto a6 is not swc friendly. Im upgrading to atoto s8 premium to get swc and wireless Android auto

Thank you for being proactive about shortening up the video to the greatest degree possible!
SAVING THIS. We just have the basic stereo in our this will make it sound better for sure.
Just te watched this video! Putting in a headunit tonight haha. Only took me 2 years… kinda excited to give our space ship some better sound!
That said... Thanks for showing us how to pop off the panel where the gear shifter goes, I was gonna mount a fast charger in one of those holes

Does the new radio work with the factory dvd player?
My factory harness has 4 plugs. I am trying to install the same pioneer CD player. Will your set up work for my van even though I got that extra plug?
Please I need a full video on how to install the screen stereo and the backup camera in sienna, thanks
There are videos already for this install. Links in description.

Any of these compatible with Android Auto ?
for what did you use the microbypass?

0:14 hey you totally stole that sound clip off Eric O. (South Main Auto) 😂
Do we really need a new dash kit or can we use the factory dash kit off the old head unit?
a new dash kit is only like $20 (not including wiring harnesses), I don't think you can use the one from the old head unit
Why mount the bluetooth overhead, instead of through a drilled hole on the trim kit?
Cause that would look like crap lol
Nice video bro..👍 thanks
so do you lose the CD player with this? Is it possible to do something like this and either keep the CD player or have a CD player?
