    • @HoustonWindowExperts

      Great question. In the video, I believe I mentioned that Amsco is actually a capstock and doesn't suffer from heat like some others do. None of the brands I mentioned have heat issues but the best is the Amsco. Maybe it's in another video where I mentioned that but I'd have to watch it again to be sure. Thanks for your comment. Jeff

    Thanks so much, Jeff, I love your window videos, very informative. In terms of color durability of a painted vinyl window-would a high quality painted vinyl window stand up to something like an AC window unit being carefully installed and removed once a season or would one notice white vinyl scratches at the contact points? Thank you.

    • @HoustonWindowExperts

      Yes, in most cases. Anlin uses a proprietary process that bakes on a paint. It is superb because it reflects heat instead of absorbing it. They put a double lifetime warranty on it.

    Which Black Window provides the best resistance to fading? Does putting the SDLs in between the glass help prevent fading?

    • @HoustonWindowExperts
      @HoustonWindowExperts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Any product made from aluminum exterior or with a cap stock would be best at reducing fading.
      Sdls don't do anything with regard to helping you reduce fading. The ultraviolet protection in the glass will take care of that for the interior space.

      What's different between paint and cap stock?

    • @HoustonWindowExperts
      @HoustonWindowExperts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Capstock is applied as the vinyl is being extruded. It's incorporated into the vinyl vs being applied after production.

    Any thoughts on milgards new black on black trinsic windows?

    • @HoustonWindowExperts
      @HoustonWindowExperts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used to be the number one seller of Milgard windows in Texas until they got bought out by M.I. Windows. M.I. knows how to make money but they do so at the expense of customer service. Once they purchased Milgard windows the entire DNA if Milgard evaporated and now they are just as bad as M.I.
      I would imagine that once you get the windows installed you will love them. All I am worried about is what will happen if you have any warranty issues. In the state of texas, if you have a warranty issue with Milgard, it will take you months to hear from them. It is very frustrating.
      An alternative solution would be to see if there is an Amsco dealer nearby. They also make a beautiful product that is comparable in quality but offers better service.

    Is the Amsco window actually a jet black or a dusty brown/dusty black color? For example, I find that the fiberglas is a dusty brown/dusty black color versus a jet black.
    In addition, what line of Amsco windows is that sample?

    I have a question? my builder ordered black windows for my home (being build right now) but it came black for the exterior and white on the interior. My wife hates it (Anderson is the window company) Is there an easy solution to make the whole window black? (I guess is taking 4 months to get new ones order or made) and also does it cost more money to have an all black window? what are your thoughts. By the way I have watched like 6 videos in the last hour. GREAR INFORMATION

      @HoustonWindowExperts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Carlos, thank you for watching and your question. I do not know if any way you could fix that issue. You could probably paint it but it may not stick for long. The black on black option should not cost any extra. Don't quote me on that because I'm not in front of my laptop right now.

      @@HoustonWindowExperts have you had that issue before? LOL. If we send the windows back to the manufacture would they just change the white for the black or do you think they will have to make new windows. Thanks for answering so fast.

    • @HoustonWindowExperts

      They would have to make all new windows. They will not do it for free unless your contract states that you should have gotten the black windows. If it's not in the contract, they are not obligated to do anything about it.

    • @HoustonWindowExperts

      Black laminate Windows have been around for about 15 years now and they are doing great. I would imagine that it should last longer than your mortgage. As with anything else, you will experience some fading over time but you should not experience failure.

If you want a good aluminum window with energy efficiency, check out Western or Quaker. Thank you for watching and your comment.

    • @HoustonWindowExperts
      @HoustonWindowExperts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can tell you that the dark bronze sitting next to the black is very difficult to tell apart. The reason I like black better is because all windows will begin to fade over time when they're exposed to sun. If you start black you end up with dark bronze after 10 years. If you start with dark bronze you end up with dark BROWN after 10 years.
