    Great video! I'll be changing the color of my windows too. How's the paint holding up? Any chipping or peeling? Would you do anything differently?

      Thank you!!! they are definitely still good, sliding door in the other hand I'm starting to see a slightly peeling on the bottom since we step in it every day but is not a lot.

    Thanks for the video. Getting ready to do my shower door so researching.
    I have a custom built kitchen with lots of counter space. it was far to expensive to change out back splash, counter, sink and island and while I know lots of things, glazing and epoxy finishes are not in my skillset.
    I contacted companies that do refinishing/glazing work. They not only repair little nicks, cracks and chips but their prices are are much cheaper than simply replacing. I also didn’t want to run the risk of pealing a year from now.
    The company we chose offered a quality warranty. All in all it cost us under $1000 to do everything.
    They have lots of colors to chose from. Including black, granite and even marble look.
    Hope that helps.

    I just did my window in the guest room yesterday following your every step. Thank you girl for this video my window came out beautifully and smoothly. The only thing I didn't like is the smell of the fumes it's so strong especially if you are working inside the house. Overall, thumbs up 👍

    You did a great job! How long ago was that and how are they holding up? I live in this blazing Texas heat and i hope they don't start chipping, etc because I intend to also do my outside windows as well‼️ Yours look amazing!!

      It's being a little over a year. I haven't painted mine from the outside, but I have painted other items with the same spray paint, and they are holding good, and I live in Arizona.

    Nice job, especially the masking. But I was very surprised to see you remove the masking and then spray the window with Windex. Windex can damage uncured paint. Maybe Rustoleum is a different chemical composition but I've seen newly painted (dry but uncured) kitchen cabinets absolutely ruined by Windex spatter.

    You did a great job I want to do mines as well but I’m scared about the gas stove in my kitchen. Is your stove gas or electric? The windows look beautiful I ended up buying some of the liquid mask to paint over the glass like paint that way I can just peel it away and I wanna do the outside I’m in the HOA community as well the others around here with black windows so I think I’ll be OK. I am going to focus on the inside of the windows first and maybe the outside later. In my previous home I painted the sliding glass door black but I brushed it.

    • @RhinoXpress
      @RhinoXpress 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Did you sand it and prime it first? You're always suppose to sand it. Reason why is you want the paint to adhere to a rough surface so it can grip the surface better. You can take 400 grit sand paper and wet sand it and use something like a Rust-Oleum 2X primer and paint combo. That should prevent it from peeling in the future.

    • @Donna-vh5ym

      @SteelRhinoXpress // You can tell that it was my first time ever. I appreciate your response. I will always sand and prime from now on. Thanks a bunch.

    Black is a short term contemporary, not modern fad. Will be out in a couple years. Already new designers are fading it out. Black is just impractical in the west coast weather, although yours are vynil. You did a great job!

    Most companies will cancel the warranty if you paint the windows or doors, something to think about. Also, there are guidelines by companies like Andersen and others on how to paint. Never paint over gaskets, insulating parts, or rolling parts, including the tray where sliding windows and doors roll over.

    • @irenecheca6575
      @irenecheca6575 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also, you may want to consider using some primer, or the paint will probably flake or peal.
