Crazy after watching this video a day after I got a today only price. Told him and his today only price to kick rocks, and on the Next day received a text, email and call from the stores manager saying they have a special for me. Thanks for this great video
For anyone coming here, my big mistake was not understanding these terms; insert, pocket, replacement, and full-tear out, new construction, and what they mean, and how they are significant. The discussions around windows all center around wood or vinyl…etc. So anyway, what they fail to tell is, some windows only come in “new construction.” If you choose to do “inserts” and the other windows are “new construction only” the ORIGINAL PROPORTIONS will be thrown off, which is important especially for the front of your home. Nobody tells you this, Nobody cares, but it changes what an architect might have already carefully organized. Architecture is an important consideration, because as they say “the windows are the eyes to your homes soul.” ❤
Thank you so much for making this video!!! I'm a 23 year old home buyer and need some windows and a salesman called and came in. Gave me a deal I thought ws amazing but after I had a gut feeling and did some research . Everything you have said is exactly what he has said. Thank you for telling us home buyers about this. Very grateful and save myself 14k. Very grateful for what you do and hope people can find your video to learn from these scams artist.
I'm glad to hear that you did not make a big mistake. If you're still interested in buying windows, I started a website to help people locate a great window company near them. We may have someone in your area. Please visit TheWindowExperts.com
This video is so helpful for anyone, even those who will never buy windows. A great explanation of how to avoid falling for high pressure sales tactics. Thanks so much!
Thanks! I have dealt with so many of these tactics on pretty much any home improvement project (gutters, roof, siding, etc) and have learned to walk away when these tactics start coming up. Thanks for sharing such an honest perspective!
Great video! Went through this experience with an Anderson rep. Spent 2 and a half hours at the house (for a 90 minute meeting). Gave us a quote of over $50,000 and pressured us (especially my wife). He got short and snooty when he realized we weren’t taking the bait. It shouldn’t be this difficult and leave you feeling sleezy when buying windows
Anderson is worthless. One of their employees named Joe Reeder is always in youtube comments bad mouthing anyone and everone that doesn't praise ANDERSON. He alone swayed me and dozens of friends and family from ever doing business with Anderson. I would NOT use ANDERSON if they were the last window company in the universe.
Exact same story with us. All decision makers to be present. Long presentation after a long work day. We were exhausted. Initial quote 57k. Same day buying discount brought it down to 38k. Then he left to get his dinner so we could think about it. We decided not to decide the same day. This guy was a pleasant salesman and left without showing any signs of annoyance. Rehash manager called the next day and got the price further down. So much for the price being valid only for one day. Glad I saw this video.
I had that hard-sell salesman at my house for 3 hours yesterday. I said no because I despise pressure sales. It turns me off instantly. I warned him in advance and he still tried it. Thank you for posting this video.
Then why don’t you guys buy the materials and install them yourselves. You want a professional job done right? Then why act weird if they ask you for your business. Now if the product is crappy and you don’t trust the company then cool. If it checks all the boxes why continue to put it off ?
@@harlemnights4381I think you’re missing the point. People are willing to pay for a job done right… but when people come in at $47k and then end up saying only if you buy today you can have it for $17k, then it’s just dishonest and the tactic is disrespectful. Nobody likes their time wasted and their intelligence insulted.
I appreciate you taking the time to make this video and it was very informative - although it was more about what to watch out for regarding sleazy sales folks rather than on windows. But I'll hunt around for some of your other videos on windows being that I need 22 new windows! Great video, thanks!
Love how transparent and open you guys are. I watched your videos last night called for a quote. Calvin came out today and we closed. I can’t imagine working with any other company. Calvin represented you guys well.
Are you still happy with your windows? We just met some guys today with them and we're trying to decide who we want to go with. These guys were our 3rd quote.
Great video. I need to replace my windows in my house in Washington state and this was the first vid I've watched. Now I'm prepared to venture forth and find somewhere to buy windows. I knows it's going to be expensive because I have many very large windows. I wish your showroom was up here instead of in Texas.
Thank you for watching and your comment. I wish you the very best on this adventure! I get so many people asking me if I know a great window company in their area, so I started a website where I have a list of a lot of great window companies. We may have somebody near you, I'm not sure. You can go and check it out if you would like. Go to JeffsList.com
Hi Jeff, GREAT video. A while ago I had a number of window companies come out to give me quotes, but when they ask their "closing" questions during the demonstration, I told them I wouldn't be buying tonight because I already have another one or two window companies scheduled to come out (even when it got down to the last company) and I want to see what they have to offer before purchasing. Of course, they tell me their window is better, but... When they bring up the "tonight only" price at the end of the demo, I tell them that is a bunch of BS and if I call their company back and they don't honor the "tonight only" price they have lost my business. They do not have to send the salesman back. It doesn't cost them anything for them to send me the contract via email or snail mail and have me sign it and send it back. Unfortunately, I didn't purchase windows previously, but I'm about to start the process again. This time I only need quotes from two or three companies since I am already familiar with their products and just want to get the current price. And I definitely agree... fall in love with the company first. Find one that has a great reputation and stands behind their product and their work!
Lew, you are reading my mind! I hope you find exactly what you're looking for. I started a website to help people locate a great window company near them. We may have someone in your area. Please visit TheWindowExperts.com
I live in Florida, and I just had a consultation with a representative from Anderson Windows. I had to cancel the contract, and he was very understanding.
I am in the window and door business in California. I have never tried to high pressure sell product. Educating the customer has always been my way of selling product. I sell a large selection of product from quite a few different companies. The best window to buy is the one that fits your budget and style. Top of the line is not always the best fit for a window project.
I don't know if anyone who makes Windows specifically catered towards a age group. There are many different options available from all manufacturers. Remember, the most important thing is going to be to find a great window company first. Have you found a great window company yet? We operate in Houston and the Dallas/Ft Worth area. However, we have great relationships with so many wonderful window dealers all over the. Country. I started a website where you can see if we have a trusted window company in your area. Perhaps I can point you in the right direction? Check out TheWindowExperts.com for a dealer near you! All the best! Jeff
Loved the comment about the amount of glass vs surround and the pictures to show examples. I hadn't considered that at all and now I feel like I know what I'm looking for.
Great! I'm glad that helps. Fyi, if you are looking for a great window company near you, check out a website I've developed to help people find good window companies all over the country. JeffsList.com
I dropped out of the buying process last winter due to price but not before I could use all your tips and knowledge on a Pella salesmen. I spent the morning watching your videos and he assumed I had done this before! I’m thinking about jumping back in now that it’s getting drafty again. Gotta rewatch your videos and refresh on my notes. Thank you Jeff!
I’m in the process of building a home in central California. Wish there was a window company like yours around here for when we start putting the windows in. Awesome videos, Jeff. Keep it up!
I started watching your videos about an hour ago and can’t stop! I keep telling myself I have to get to bed, but then you mention another video and I’m like, “Ahhh, I have to watch and learn more!” Thank you so, so much for these valuable videos!
Thank you for this video! We live in the Boise Idaho area and had this exact pressure sale happen to us. We did not make a decision as it’s a big one to make and we will not be pressured for that amount of money. This video shows up on my feed today and I’m thankful for the tips! Thank you!
Yes…. The local Anderson Window dealer did most of these tactics. But I had purchased from them years ago when I was flush and knew the owners brother in law so I received what I thought was a good price. This time around I cancelled on the second day after. My windows were around $78k but my today price was 54. After getting approved I mulled over the interest rate (which was low but I hate paying interest these days!) and the term of the loan. Decided to cancel on the second day. Then several calls offering lower prices. I’ll do it myself. I’m handy and have time. Just need to get someone to order the windows!
Thank you Jeff. I justed had Renewal by Anderson and Power Home Remodeling came to my home in New York for windows estimates. My the first estimates from Renewal by Anderson was for $81k for 24 double hung windows. The discounted price was $58k. The Power Home Remodeling estimates was $31,500 for 24 windows. The discounted price was $23k. Like you said, they both gave me a take it now dealing or pay the original quotes. This was a very unbelievable experience. They are worst than a used car Salesperson.
Yikes, I am certainly not surprised. I don't understand these companies and how they think they can get away with it. If you're looking for a great window company near you that doesn't do these things, I might know someone. You can look for yourself by visiting JeffsList.com
Thank you for watching and for your comment. If you're looking for a great window company near you, we may have someone that we can recommend. Please check out JeffsList.com
OMG. I felt like Jeff was talking to ME! We just had this over the weekend. And it really does make me want to forget upgrading the windows...until I found your channel! Now, I'm excited to get my "Jeff's List" recommendation for my area (KC) and get new windows. You are AWESOME!
As an aspiring siding, window and door contractor in western NY i truelly love your videos. I've been working in the field for 22 years and have been in business on my own for 5. I'm learning how to sell my own work vs. being a subcontractor. I appreciate your time and explanations because alot of what you say has been spot on. I also want to be ethical and transparent with people as I feel there is a huge lack of that here where I am at. Thank you for your time and videos. Your a true role model.
@@HoustonWindowExperts Hey Jeff, can you recommend window dealers in the Orlando area? So glad the wife stopped me from signing the 100k window installation that came out to $77k with all the discounts.
@@Desafinado30 If I may ask, how big is your house, and how many windows are involved to add up to USD77k ? More and more I want to find a decent manufacturer or distributor who will sell direct to me, so I can DIY the install of our paltry dozen windows.
@@kevinm9174 The price I was quoted very recently was for the renewal by anderson composite- fibrex windows with the in-between the glass grilles. Have to say though. there are many variables in determining a price for your windows such as size, materials, grille, home location, etc. I think the best you can do is to research a few highly rated window stores in your area and get a few quotes.
One more Mistake - Any company that advertises constantly on your local radio, tv, or sends mail........Way overprices. You're paying for that marketing.
Just out of curiosity I had Anderson windows come out to quote me. And for seven windows, it was $14,000. Mainly I wanted to learn more about windows. And instead of reading and watching everything online the guy just answered all my questions lol
I think I love you Jeff. You described my recent visit from Dreamstyle remodeling to a tee (also). They sell the ProVia line of windows and I was almost talked into loving their windows. Then the numbers, how bad other windows are, and the savings if I buy now etc... Also they offered another veterans discount. So the retail price was $35,229, Promotional price down to $26,421 and with the vet discount down to $25,101. The he called his manager and got the price down to $24,500 today only. Then offered zero percent financing. Then tried to make me feel bad when I wanted to think about it. I insisted on seeing some other houses in the area with these windows. He only had a slider sample and didn't have the double hung sample. After watching your video, I could see that the ProVia window frames ARE much chunkier than I really wanted. Many retro-fit windows you see in the big box stores are even more chunkier. I live in Prescott AZ and I know you are in the Houston area, but you did say that you might be able to help me find a company that won't lead me into those 5 possible buying mistakes. I'm sure that if you know a good company in the Phoenix AZ area, they will drive the 100 miles to show me their window line(s). I don't want to make any of those mistakes. I love your company and love the way you explained this to us. (all TH-camrs) Thank you VERY MUCH!
That Provia window is a one and done deal! Lifetime warranty! If you get the whole house done most of my customers heat and Air conditioning bills are CUT in half
My exact experience with Renewal by Andersen! their "buy tonight" price was $6k for 3 24" octagon attic windows. The measure tech showed up without a ladder and I cancelled the order
I wish you had an office in St. Louis. I love doing business with a company that doesn't try to treat you like just another victim. I have a 57 year old house with original windows.
Thank you for this video! We almost fell for the Renewal by Andersen con job! After watching this video and others, we canceled the appointment! Still researching options in our Central Coast area if CA.
GREAT advice! I'm confident I'll watch this video again and again. The spacers inside my single hung windows are melting from the heat and I wish to resolve this issue. I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. Any dealer recommendations?
I like Renewal. They have awesome windows and the sales person I got made everything very clear. Pella quoted half the price but the quality was lacking.
Thank you for watching and your comment. Just so you know, I do know a couple of really good window companies in Colorado. If you'd like to see if we have a great window company near you, please check out JeffsList.com
We sat through a 2 hours presentation by a Renewal by Anderson rep today. Thankfully we had a Marvin quote in the back of our minds from last year so when we saw the wild numbers, we were surprised but didn't fall for their tactics. Our experience with the Marvin rep was completely opposite of today. My dad sent us your videos after hearing my story. Here to learn as much as we can before we move forward on any window purchase!
The homeowner Jim Smith of the apartments in Michigan where the window frames get bad rain water would leak out of them and under the heater and stuff even in my room and they were the ones you crank so are those the best ones to keep in apartments?
Wow, I’m a window and door salesman for a small company in Pennsylvania. I have been talking about these same things. It seems like the window industry is worse than most. The stories I hear from my customers are amazing at times. Just came across your channel agree with everything I saw so far. Thanks for the great content.
Thanks! Need to replace 23 builder grade vinyl windows due to hail and want to upgrade. I’ve found 3 installers in STL in whom I have some confidence. None high pressure. Surprisingly to me, all 3 quoted Provia, 2 Endure and 1 Aspect. May sell the house next year or the year after but not certain. So want decent windows without breaking the bank. (1) Is there any reason to avoid this brand/models? I'm a bit concerned that Endures might have chunky frames. Can’t tell from the small sample windows. The windows are double hung roughly 59”tall, 39”wide. (2) Neighborhood houses have GBG front windows. As you mentioned (diff video) whiteness of the grid is lost. Do you recommend living with that, or doing SDL grids? House has vinyl siding, built in 2004, traditional style. Have have gridless in back for the view. Afraid gridless in front might be seen as a negative in a house in this price range.
Thanks for watching and your question. Provia is going to be a bit chunky. Have you considered Anlin or the Milgard Styleline? If you go with 2 coats of low-e instead of 3, that will help with the grids.
Thanks, @@HoustonWindowExperts. In response I checked with both Anlin and Milgard and found neither has dealers in the St. Louis area. I'd love other suggestions if you have them. If I don't find alternates, do you know if the Aspect line is noticeably less chunky than the Endure? Thanks again. Very helpful videos.
Thanks for the tips you just shared. I have encountered that type of salesperson you've mentioned on the video and my wife had fallen into the trap. I wish I've seen this video before we got our whole house windows replaced. There's tons of sharks and alligators here in hollywood and they are hungry for your money. You're spot on saying all the tricks they use. Cheers to you and your company.
I love your videos.. informative, helpful and funny (without trying) and that's a plus. You are very good at teaching too. I just binge watched your channel and I'm only buying a couple windows at the moment. I wish you were in Maine! I am going to check to see if you recommended any window company near me. Thank you.
I'm in SF, CA area and wish that your company was here! We're wanting to start our window project and it's overwhelming. Do you know anyone good folk out here?
Great, I am glad this has been helpful. If you're looking for some more options in your area, I've created a website where you can find some recommended dealers that might be of service to you. Check it out. JeffsList.com
Great video. I live in Mi and have been getting estimates for replacement windows and have gotten some of these sales tactics. I send them away and don’t answer their calls after that. Such a frustrating process.
I live in Michigan too and have had the same experience. It's awful! It's even worse when you're a woman. They become condescending when they realize you aren't going to buy.
Excellent video! Thank you for saving so many customers from a high pressured sales pitch...it just happened to me yesterday. I had Renewal by Anderson at my house ....with a strong sales pitch....wanted to make sure all home owners/decision maker meet with him. Gave me an estimate of $80k+ for 23 windows. But also said that there will be a factory discount of $20k+ if I signed a contract right away. I too stood firm that I will get estimates from at least 2 additional companies before I sign any contract. So he said the discount will be off and the price is up to $80k+ as soon as he is out the door. I thanked him for coming. I am continuing my research and thats how I found this video. I'll be watching all your videos first.....I am not in the Houston area. Thank you so much !!! I am really puzzled why this company despite the price and sales pressure still ranks number #1 in every search? Any thoughts?

I used to be in the high pressure window sales game. I would get bonuses if I was thrown out of a house. Also the one tactic that you missed that worked for me was factory direct. I was a factory representative and every day we were on the verge of laying off factory workers. So if you buy right now you will get the best price because your helping us keep our employees working. Your doing is a favor so we will do you a favor on the price.
Thank you for watching and your comment. Just so you know, I started a website with a list of great window companies all over the country because I get this comment a lot. Check it out. JeffsList.com
What a great video, Depending on the project I met every one of those sales people over the past few years, I spent 52 years as an engineer in the construction business including capital plant sales - its a waste of their and our time. Why do they do it? I laugh at them when they try the tricks you mention, and more. Good for you to identify the less than honest folks in the industry. One point you mentioned I have to emphasize, quality and knowledge of the installing crew. Its paramount a great product installed badly will still be bad.
There's no reason why the sales experience can't be an honest and genuine one. High pressure sales is a thing of the past; we now live in the age of information and people are getting wiser against deceptive sales tactics. If people are truly in the market for new windows, you will always make the sale if you work with their needs and budget. The manufacturers that dominate the industry need to put happy sales people and satisfied customers over maximum profits, period. Thanks for the video
My windows are original from 1987. I know you don’t have to replace all at once. That said, should you have a strategy to replace over time? I only have two I think need replaced at the moment
Thank you for watching and your question. If you only do two at a time, you'll likely pay more money per window than if you did them all at once. You also have to consider that these new windows will likely look different than the ones you didn't replace. Otherwise, two windows is a fine idea. I started a website to help people locate a great window company near them. We may have someone in your area. Please visit TheWindowExperts.com
Hi Jeff! Same here. I just stumbled across your video and I'm looking to replace several windows in the south suburbs of Illinois. I just had a company that I thought may work out but when they quoted me 25k plus for gutter replacement, I showed them the door and a body part.
Thank you for watching. Hey, honest, transparent business practices are making a comeback. I've seen it trending all around me. The buying public is demanding it and those who provide it are being rewarded by their clients. It's the best way to do business!
Anderson came to my home, nope, got the sleezy tactics. Window world, Lowes and Champion are coming next. My home needs windows. 34 of them. I am so thankful for all the information I am getting from your videos. I live in middle Ga and would love a window company recommendation. Hoping there is one here like yours!
Thank you so much for your advice and for your quick response. Any suggestions on a good, wholesome, honest and respectful window company in my area would be greatly appreciateaA
This is a great video. Sounds like a straight-up company that is trying to do things right. Everything they are saying is legit. Pat on the back from me!
Very true and correct information Jeff. I am going trough it now. I live in Chicago suburbs area and wish you were Chicago Window experts. I will appreciate if you know and could recommend someone here in Chicago region similar to you.
Great video. Plus I have construction background. I'm finding is that when men come to give me a quote they see me, a female, and think I'm an easy target. I cannot put into words how frustrating that is.
I didnt understand the 12 layers of coating. The Low-E coating would be given either to the interior of the exterior glass or to the interior of the interior glass depends on the region will live in USA right? For example if we take interior of the exterior glass in a double pane glass, Its just one coating of Low-e right? Does itself will have 12 layers of Low-e ?
I know that it gets a little confusing. The further most outside surface of the glass is surface one and the further most inside surface of the glass is surface 4. All the lowly coatings are applied the surface number two. However, glass has more than just low e coatings on it. Some are designed to assist in reducing scratches and others are designed for energy efficiency. My point in this video was to indicate how some salespeople will get so granular in order to try to confuse you. Most window companies would say this has three coats of low e and then they start to brag about how they have 12 layers on their glass. It's just marketing, nothing more, nothing less.
Wow! Thank you!! Such great information. I'm in Minnesota, any recommendation on who to work with? I'd give you my business if I lived down your way. Thanks!

WAHO ..JEFF YOU ARE WONDERFULL, EXCELLENT AND HONESTLY SAID EVERYTHINGS . I AM SO MUCH IMPRESS WITH YOU. THANKS, A LOTS FOR THIS KIND OF VIDEO YOU MADE. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR BUSINESS. KHATRI FROM NEW YORK.
Hi Jeff thanks for your very valuable advices. This is John from Miami, FL, I'm in the process to install impact windows at home, around 16 openings including windows and doors... so far I've met around 7 companies with de same MO as you describe it in the 5 steps of this video. One of the company which could be the more serious one made the proposal to be paid in cash or financed by Well Fargos Bank but not 0% financing , it could be 7% to 8%...so I would appreciate your suggestion in the way to pay even thought Financing is more convenient for me at this time. On the other hand I also would appreciate your opinion about manufacturers called ES windows, EC Windows, and PGT. Once again thanks for your very interesting videos John
It's hard to ask for both. Companies need to make money. They can either give you the financing, or the cash discount. If they have margins to give you both, they were overcharging you in the first place.
Great informative videos. I wish there was a window company likes yours in Ohio. All of our local companies sell one brand of window, always vinyl or composite, with limited option.
Thank you for watching and your question. Just so you know, I have created a website with a list of great window dealers all around the country. You might be able to find someone on there that does a great job in your area. JeffsList.com
Amazing way to explain when you have great knowledge and experience, I will buy a house in one month, I have not money yet buy I need to buy at least 35 windows. Thanks
Jeff, excellent videos. Thank you. If you were in Ottawa, Canada, I'd contract with you in a heartbeat, just because. But since you aren't... in the interest of transparency and all, what is the approximate mark-up on the actual windows in the middle and upper quality ranges, and what percentage of a relatively straight-forward replacement contract would be labor? Also, as an avid DIYer, I've found that i can source low-end product easily, but when I look for (say) Euro-style tilt-and-turn windows, suddenly only a local retail installer is allowed to talk to me. . . in a three-hour sales script, just as you describe.
A fair mark-up to expect is about 15-20% net margin for a window company. We have to charge enough to make a fair profit but not too much or you won't sell anything. There are companies who are really cheap and they are so excited about how much business they have but they don't realize they are going broke. In the US, only about 10% of construction companies are still in business after 7 years.
Oh my gosh, the 1st thing you talked about was exactly what happened to us. We had two high pressure sales tactics from two different companies. One guy, I had to finally tell him to get out of our house, or I was going to call the cops. I told my wife it was like having a used care salesman, where you couldn't leave. And.....we stopped looking for windows because of this horrendous experience. We are from St. Louis too. Maybe it's time to expand. :)
Most window salesmen I’ve met (including Renewal by Anderson) have delivered the same pitch. It’s pitiful because we were genuinely interested in installing new windows but have stalled this project because we don’t know who to trust :( Can you tell us if you know any good companies that do good installation in the SF Bay Area (particularly Fremont, CA)?
Thank you for watching! I totally feel your pain! Please contact our office, we have a list of companies that we know and recommend all over the country. I believe we do have someone in your area. Please send us an email. Info@houstonwindowexperts.com
I am currently going through the window selection process, and what he's saying at 4:50 is very very nearly exactly what's happening. They're not quite being "mean" but there's definitely some aggression. Luckily I don't have anywhere to go so I bored them to death before they tried to bore me to death. It's similar to shopping for mattresses - none of the players (well, very few) are there to help you make an informed decision. They prefer you make a choice based on...I dunno, fear? It's getting to the point where i distrust window salespeople as much as i distrust used car dealers.
Don't get too discouraged; there are companies like ours who value our clients and doing business with integrity and respect. If you'd like, you can email us at info@houstonwindowexperts.com and we can see if we know someone in your area that we can recommend.
Excellent Information, I am in Florida and you described those salesmen perfectly. You have to take a 2nd mortgage with some of these companies, its so expensive. Average price per window on one quote was 2K per window with installation. CRAZY!
Yikes! If you're looking for a great window company near you, check out a website I started with a list of great window companies I know all over the country. Maybe we know someone near you? JeffsList.com
Love it! Jeff is talking about Renewal by Andersen! You can get better windows at a lower cost like Marvin Essential or Pella Impervia. Marvin Essential is a better window between all 3.
I just had Marvin triple casement installed last week in my kitchen. We did the built in hidden screens and love them so far. Trying to figure out which marvin window to go with to replace our 2 garage windows that face the front of the house. The rest of our house currently have builder grade 26yo Andersen windows.
Jeff, thanks so much for your videos, they're very informative. I'm in S.E. Michigan and I'm looking at replacing windows with Renewal by Andersen Fibrex 100 series. Do you happen to know if Fibrex windows should be installed by Renewal by Andersen or a 3rd party contractor? Are there any good installers in SE Michigan that you're aware of? Thanks!
Thank you for watching. The product that's made for renewal by Andersen is very similar, but not identical, to the other Andersen fibrex products. Due to some arrangements, there is an exclusivity for the renewal product. If you're going to buy the renewal version of fibrex then you must use their installer. Before you make the final purchase, I would suggest checking into the Pella Impervia also.
Well, now that my windows are in I realize I made a mistake in the exterior frame selection. I inadvertently selected the wide flush fin frame, it’s about a 2 + inch vinyl frame when what I really wanted a narrower frame like a block frame. Now the wide flush frame is like an eyesore against my stucco wall. Oh too bad I should have asked my sales person for a sample frame before placing my order. Now II’m stuck with ugly exterior frames. Any comments would be appreciated. What can I do? Hire someone to saw off excessive width of the frame?
I'm sorry to hear about that. I would not do anything to those windows at all because it will ruin the warranty and they will probably leak if you don't leave that fin on. I would complain to your window company and tell them that you don't know enough about Windows to understand what product you should be buying. That should be something that they would be willing to correct on their end.
Crazy after watching this video a day after I got a today only price. Told him and his today only price to kick rocks, and on the Next day received a text, email and call from the stores manager saying they have a special for me. Thanks for this great video
Absolutely!
I'm in the process of buying windows for my home right now, and I'm sooooo glad that I found this video. Thank you for providing all this information!

This video is so helpful for anyone, even those who will never buy windows. A great explanation of how to avoid falling for high pressure sales tactics. Thanks so much!
Thank you! We are beginning our journey of window replacements & the task is daunting!
Thanks! I have dealt with so many of these tactics on pretty much any home improvement project (gutters, roof, siding, etc) and have learned to walk away when these tactics start coming up. Thanks for sharing such an honest perspective!
Good for you!
It's awful... I'm not sure why they do that.
@@HoustonWindowExperts
Me neither. Definitely not a good way to go about business. But it must work otherwise they wouldn’t be around right?
2 hour meetings sheesh. That itself makes me not want to get new windows.
Thank you for watching
I went through that same thing, but I kept telling him no.
Good for you!
I just watched the single versus double hung video too, you are one of my favourite people. I wish you had a shop here in Canada
Thanks for watching!
I appreciate you taking the time to make this video and it was very informative - although it was more about what to watch out for regarding sleazy sales folks rather than on windows. But I'll hunt around for some of your other videos on windows being that I need 22 new windows! Great video, thanks!
Thanks for watching
Love how transparent and open you guys are. I watched your videos last night called for a quote. Calvin came out today and we closed. I can’t imagine working with any other company. Calvin represented you guys well.
That's awesome. Thank you for your trust and your business!
Are you still happy with your windows? We just met some guys today with them and we're trying to decide who we want to go with. These guys were our 3rd quote.
Would like to know aswell.

I live in Florida, and I just had a consultation with a representative from Anderson Windows. I had to cancel the contract, and he was very understanding.
You did a good thing!
I am in the window and door business in California. I have never tried to high pressure sell product. Educating the customer has always been my way of selling product. I sell a large selection of product from quite a few different companies. The best window to buy is the one that fits your budget and style. Top of the line is not always the best fit for a window project.
Agreed
Would you please tell me what is the best patio door and window brands for senior
I don't know if anyone who makes Windows specifically catered towards a age group. There are many different options available from all manufacturers. Remember, the most important thing is going to be to find a great window company first. Have you found a great window company yet?

I dropped out of the buying process last winter due to price but not before I could use all your tips and knowledge on a Pella salesmen. I spent the morning watching your videos and he assumed I had done this before! I’m thinking about jumping back in now that it’s getting drafty again. Gotta rewatch your videos and refresh on my notes. Thank you Jeff!
Awesome! Good job
I’m in the process of building a home in central California. Wish there was a window company like yours around here for when we start putting the windows in. Awesome videos, Jeff. Keep it up!
Thanks for watching!
I started watching your videos about an hour ago and can’t stop! I keep telling myself I have to get to bed, but then you mention another video and I’m like, “Ahhh, I have to watch and learn more!” Thank you so, so much for these valuable videos!
Thanks for watching and your comment.... Now go to bed!
Thank you for the great advice! Window Nation just did all this to me last weekend

I used to be a one call closer. I did it for a couple of years but never liked it. Taught me a lot of useful information when I need something.

Can you ask for their cash price even if you do plan on financing? would they raise their quote up afterwards if financing?
It's hard to ask for both. Companies need to make money. They can either give you the financing, or the cash discount. If they have margins to give you both, they were overcharging you in the first place.
Great informative videos. I wish there was a window company likes yours in Ohio. All of our local companies sell one brand of window, always vinyl or composite, with limited option.
Thank you for watching and your question. Just so you know, I have created a website with a list of great window dealers all around the country. You might be able to find someone on there that does a great job in your area.

Comet Glass in Cleveland is good
Amazing way to explain when you have great knowledge and experience, I will buy a house in one month, I have not money yet buy I need to buy at least 35 windows. Thanks
Thank you for watching and your comment. When you get ready to buy Windows for your house, please go and check out JeffsList.com.
Kevin -- I'm in the same city. May I ask if you found a good window company that you'd recommend? Thanks.
Thanks for the information brother. Wish you had a company in Dallas.

40% off sale🤑 Must be Anderson Renewal...
Does thick frame handle the extreme weather better?
Not always. It will depend on the thickness of the vinyl wall.
Thank you for watching. Don't give up!
@@HoustonWindowExperts I have subscribed and planning on watching all of your videos. Thank you so much!
Cops? A 12 gauge works much faster on salesmen. A good dog works well too.
Lol
who would you recommend in the Atlanta area for the black windows please?
Hi, we have a great company in Atlanta. You can find their information on JeffsList.com
Most window salesmen I’ve met (including Renewal by Anderson) have delivered the same pitch. It’s pitiful because we were genuinely interested in installing new windows but have stalled this project because we don’t know who to trust :(
Can you tell us if you know any good companies that do good installation in the SF Bay Area (particularly Fremont, CA)?
Thank you for watching! I totally feel your pain! Please contact our office, we have a list of companies that we know and recommend all over the country. I believe we do have someone in your area. Please send us an email. Info@houstonwindowexperts.com
@Harpreet Bhatia Hi, did you choose a window brand and installer? I'm also from the Bay Area (San Jose) and looking to replace my windows. Thanks!
Hi, you should check out our list of good window companies around the country. Visit JeffsList.com to see if we know anyone near you.
Jeff
Do you service the Waco area? Or know anybody to recommend to us?
We do not. I think we have somebody we can recommend near you. Please check out JeffsList.com

@Hello Alan how are you doing
The rest of our house currently have builder grade 26yo Andersen windows.
should we pay for an estimate? Is buying from and installing by a big box home improvement store a good idea?
