    Reference king pins. I always Jack front end off ground, to relieve pressure. Turn tires left, by hand, grease, turn tires right, grease. Then work tires back and forth. Big difference in longevity.

      I had a tech that would always advise drivers to change their kingpins when they wouldn't accept grease. I knew he was wrong when I found out that you should be lifting that wheel when greasing that kingpin like you advised.

    Grease the fifth wheel , raise the trailer slightly above the fifth wheel and back tractor stopping before coupling . Lower trailer and complete couple .

    • @lorenzomorganjr.6585
      @lorenzomorganjr.6585 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's actually the proper way to connect a recently greased fifth wheel to a trailer. I also, lower my air bags to the fifth wheel (when the fifth wheel has been recently greased) and slowly back under the trailer (without having the fifth wheel touch the trailer) before coupling to the trailer (then I raise my air bags until the fifth wheel touches the trailer and then I back the tractor until it connects to the trailer without having any of the grease slide up to the top of the fifth wheel).

    In my opinion. You should grease no differently than you would do PMs it all depends on Applications! OTR will get the longest intervals.But me personally I treat my truck As severe duty so regardless of my application which is Regional/Local/OFF-Road I grease Weekly, i PM Every 10,000 miles or Less. I Run Oil samples every time. I run Fuel Additives & Oil Additives. I could Push it longer but my truck is 8 years old with 750,000k so I don’t wait until things are bad before I service them. Like the old timers say “be good to her and she’ll be good to you” God Bless

      The seals on your slack, tie rods, drag link, u-joints s-cams and every other place you put grease to it. You shouldn’t over grease cause then that causes grim and dirt to accumulate around those joints causing premature wear on those components.
